Long Lake Peninsula Traverse City 3BR Home. Swim,Kayaks,Bikes,Lake access,Pets
This adorable cottage home is the perfect home base for your trip to Traverse City. Nestled in a tranquil setting, this property offers everything you need for a lovely stay. With three bedrooms, including a king bed, queen bed, and bunk bed, it comfortably accommodates guests. There is also a game room featuring a futon and Smart TV (bring your console). The two bathrooms are equipped with quality modern amenities. You'll find all the comforts of home here, from WiFi to a washing machine. The peninsula has that quintessential up north feel, heavily treed and peaceful. You’ll feel secluded and at ease on the peninsula, yet you can be in the heart of downtown Traverse City in 12 minutes.
Location: This property is centrally located to just about everything you might want to access in the area. While the property is not waterfront, the lake is a short walk away, mostly shaded by the mature trees covering the peninsula. Obviously this is a great spot in the summer with access to Long Lake, but this is a tremendous year round property with breweries, wineries, great restaurants and other attractions nearby. In the fall, you can’t beat this heavily wooded neighborhood’s fall colors.
-12 minutes to downtown Traverse City
-15 minutes to Lake Ann
-30 minutes to Suttons Bay
-11 minutes to Interlochen
-35 minutes to Glen Arbor, Leland, Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes
-25 minutes to Mt. Holiday and Crystal Mountain The property:
You will have access to a spacious cottage that you can treat as one large space or separate for privacy by closing/securing the sliding barn door that separate the two spaces. It’s perfect for parties who want the benefit of being together with the option of privacy.
The two story side of the cottage features a cozy living area with wet bar that includes a sliding door to access a small patio. The second floor boasts a king master suite with private balcony, a second bedroom, and bathroom with shower. Please note the only way to access the second bedroom is through the shared bathroom. (Bathroom features two doors for privacy). The second bedroom includes full size bunk beds to accommodate various guests.
The one story side of the cottage includes a full kitchen, dining area to seat 6, bedroom with queen bed and connected full bath. On the lower level, enjoy the convenience of onsite laundry and a game room. Game room includes Foozeball table and Smart TV (Bring your console), and features a futon for additional sleeping space or an air mattress if guests prefer.
Take advantage of the well-stocked, fully-equipped kitchen if you choose to eat in. We provide an instant pot, crockpot, blender, and coffee station. Make a traditional pot or prepare yourself some tea. Coffee and tea are available. There is a Keurig and pods. A Nespresso Vertuo machine is onsite-bring your own pods.
Exterior spaces include three patios, a BBQ, picnic table, and fire pit.
Long Lake Township and Peninsula limits occupancy, so no guests may stay. We do not allow large/loud parties. Quiet hours observed after 10 PM. There is no boat parking, and guests may not use the Long Lake Peninsula boat launch per Township ordinance 178.
Bringing small children? The cottage includes a pack n play and high chair as well as kids’ dishes and utensils.
Need supplies? Target, Aldi, Meijer, and Wal-Mart are 12 minutes away.
Need to bring Fido? No problem! Pet fee is $150 per stay, and we allow no more than two dogs. The yard and nearby park make it a very dog-friendly stay. Please let us know if you plan to bring well-behaved animals so we can roll out the red carpet for your four-legged companions. Guests will be responsible for any pet-related damage.
Peninsula Living:
Grab the kayaks and venture to the private boat launch/swim area to take in all Long Lake has to offer a short distance away. The kayaks can be walked down with supplied carts, but the kayaks also stack easily for transport in any truck or SUV, and most hatch backs. There is limited parking (room for 3 cars) at the launch. Enjoy swimming in the sandy bottom crystal clear lake. Wade right in with zero entry access. Kayak over to the nearby islands to camp or swim out to the swim platform and relax in the sun, or just sit on the dock and enjoy the lake breeze or take in the sunset. We’ve left beach chairs, floats, sand and water toys so that you can get right to enjoying the lake without running to the store. Additionally, there are two public beaches on the other side of the lake. There are 3 very capable adult/teen sized bikes for exploring the peninsula and surrounding areas.
Just a stone’s throw away, enjoy Robert Doerr park! The perfect place for just about anyone, the park features volleyball, basketball, a baseball diamond, a substantial play structure for little ones, 3 hole disc golf, and tether ball. While the park is a very short walk away, there is off road parking.
