My family of 7 just spent 3 nights at this incredible house! We loved it. Very spacious and clean. Great fishing off the pier. My daughter caught a 28 inch speck. We will probably make it our yearly coast destination from now on. Highly recommended!

The beach house was in a great location right on the beach, and the beautiful ocean view was definitely a highlight of our stay. However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. The ice maker was not working, the dishwasher was not working, and there was no toaster available. While we enjoyed the beachfront location and scenery, I would recommend addressing these issues and providing a few more basic kitchen amenities to make future guests’ stays more comfortable.

Overall a good stay, there were some spots in the house where sheet rock was missing I’m guessing from a previous leak. They did have a company come and mow the lawn during our stay, the company covered some of our belongings with grass clippings and someone managed to throw a lid under the deck prompting me to crawl under to get it.

The house was perfect and so clean. The pictures were on point. The location was amazing and the fishing was perfect throughout our stay. Being able to park our boat onsite was the best convenience. Our grandsons enjoyed fishing off the pier during the day and especially at night. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Avantstay was very responsive before, during and after our stay. They really care and ensured we were completely satisfied and happy with our stay. Great family mini vacay. Thank you Complete 10/10.

The wildlife was amazing to watch at night and early morning. Definitely worth bringing deer corn to feed them, we went through a 50lb bag in 5 days and saw so many amazing animals. The property was very clean and all appliances worked. Plenty of beds and bedding.

Great hidden gem

Had a great time ! House was stocked with everything we needed. Will definitely stay again! Good fishing off pier. Caught a few trout and a nice drum.

Great Place

Very nice and safe area, mosquitoes were our biggest problem. The house is very spacious and clean. The fishing pier is awesome, our boat was secure, boat lift was out of order, and the green light was placed too far back under pier, but yes, we were able to catch trout up underneath the pier. We would defiantly book this house in the future.

Family Getaway

The property was Amazing. Looked better in person than the pictures. Neighborhood was full of wildlife, seen deer, birds, roosters, and was a pleasant experience. My teenage son fell in love with the pier. He caught sea trout and catfish all day and night. Loved the way the house was sectioned with plenty of privacy for each person. We loved it so much, we are booking another retreat.

Great Fishing Vacation

Great spot for fishing. Excellent location on the Laguna Madre for trout, red fish, drum, and other aquatic species. The layout of the house is excellent. Everyone can enjoy a bedroom and a bathroom. The wildlife entertained us each night. If you love to see planes flying over, you can see local aircrafts buzzing overhead frequently. The chickens are fun to watch early in the morning and late in the evening. Deer frequent the area as well. Highly recommend for family vacation. A few items that could be improved - Tried to cookout on the grill but the gas regulator on the outdoor grill had a hole in the hose. The guest before us put the cover on when the grill was hot and it melted to the grill surface. Trash service is only once a week and we wanted to get rid of the trash shortly after cleaning fish - so we ended up taking the trash to another location for faster service. A fish cleaning station near the water would be an excellent addition.

This property had several issues from the instance we walked onto the property on Friday, Aug 29, 2025:Broken garage door which was an eye sore.Broken fence post and gate.Light bulbs out in master bedroom closet.Debris from gate lying in backyard.Trash at entry gate to backyard.Free standing ice maker did not that was shown in pictures of the kitchen.Light switches in master bedroom bathroom had brown stain marks running down the wall. It appears to be stained waterThe entire house flooring in the house needs to be replaced. There are numerous soft spots in the flooring throughout the house. One spot right at the front door is dangerous weak and can cave in if you NOT careful where you step as you walk in.Mildew on the outsude laundry room door which is to the right of the front entry door.Wooden walkway to enter the house and to enter the back yard from the driveway are uneven which is unsafe.The outside door to enter the second bedroom had a doggy door that has been closed off with grey masking tape which is an eye sore and NOT very secure.The house has potential, is nicely decorated and has a very nice view of Laguna Madre.The rental should be removed from VRBO until the house can be brought upto satisfactory standards that VRBO is known for. AvantStay did offer a 20% refund for the above noted issues on a 4 night stay that cost us over 2000. We were there to celebrate our 31st Wedfing Anniversary.

We had a nice stay overall. The house had a charming rustic feel and was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The only downside was the price—it felt a little expensive for a rustic property.
