Our booking was done last minute and there weren't many properties to choose from. This Constellation House #510 did not have any reviews. In a world where we read 100 reviews even before buying a vegetable peeler, this made my very, very skeptical. I kept looking the property which was perfect for our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 children), kept looking at the direct view of the ocean with longing, but moving on...for days. I finally bult up enough courage and booked it, keeping my fingers crossed.
When I called the rental office for confirmation, they said it might be a little dirty because its the end of the season. But when we walked in, we were pleasantly welcomed by the sound of the ocean. The house is right on the sand, with unobstructed views of the water. The beach never got overly crowded. And all we had to do was take the elevator down and we would be right on the sand.
The house has a master bedroom with access to the balcony and large windows overlooking the water. The bed was comfy. the 2nd bedroom had 3 twin beds which worked out perfect for my two children and mother in law. The sofas in the living room were comfortable and clean. The living room and the 2 bedroom all had TVs with cable. The kitchen was clean and had plenty of dishes although we didn't use any except the coffee machine.
The ONLY problem we had with this house was it had no wi-fi. I am in the middle of a certification and I had assignments to submit and I used my phone as hotspot. If you have unlimited cellular data, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem to do this. If not you can buy it from the Citywide Wi-fi. Just make sure to get the instructions from the rental office when you pick up the keys.
As for the location, it is between 52nd and 53rd streets and it is walkable to many good restaurants and shops. The boardwalk is less than couple of miles away and is easily reachable by car or bus. There are 2 parking spots reserved for #510 in the parking lot below. The spots are numbered, so easy to get to.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and were sad to leave. The view and the ease of going down straight on to the sand cannot be beat for the area.
