Eine Stunde Autofahrt entfernt von San Jose und nur 15 Minuten Fahrt von Jaco Stadt und Strand, Punta Leona Hotel & Club ist eine begehrte Ziel für Menschen, die einen perfekten Urlaub. Golden Reef Eigentumswohnung befindet sich im Club gelegen, verfügt über einen eigenen Pool und einen direkten Zugang zum Renommee-unter-den-Einheimischen, ruhig, und schönen weißen Sandstrand namens Playa Blanca. Dieser Strand wird von einem Wildreservat umgeben; daher werden Sie auf jeden Fall über die heimische Tierwelt wie Weiß faced Kapuzineraffen, Nasenbären, Tukane und Aras zu kommen. Bietet nicht nur großen Wellen, sondern auch ruhig, kinderfreundliche Gewässern, ist dieser Strand für Menschen aller Altersgruppen passgenau.

Unsere Wohnung mit Blick auf den Pazifik und doch nur weniger als 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt von ihm! Es hat drei Schlafzimmer, von denen zwei mit den beiden Queen und Twin-Size-Betten und dem Master, einem Kingsize-ausgestattet. Zwei Zimmer haben ein eigenes Badezimmer. Badezimmer Das Zimmer hat auch einen Jacuzzi, um nach einem produktiven Tag genießen Sie die wunderschöne Umgebung zu verwenden. Alle Schlafzimmer und das Wohnzimmer haben einen Fernseher. Die Küche ist komplett mit den notwendigen Geräten ausgestattet und verfügt über ein Marmor-Top-Insel. Darüber hinaus hat die Wohnung eine Waschmaschine / Trockner-Einheit und eine zentrale A / C-System für zusätzlichen Komfort. Last but not least, können Sie Sonnenuntergänge direkt von der Terrasse aus sehen können, während Sie ein gutes Essen oder liegen in der Hängematte und ein Buch lesen.

Very spacious apartment, great views from the balcony. Unfortunately we saw roaches under the sink and its obvious that this is an issue because they had raid sprays under the sink for roaches. All coffee makers are in bad condition and couldn't use any of them. Driving directions from the main road to the apartment could be a little better, like letting guest know to turn right when they get to the ice cream shop. I was told that we have access to the amenities of the club and that wasn't true, no one provided us with bracelets to use the beach club and I was told by employees that I needed to buy a Day-Pass, luckily the public entrance its not far from the club and the access to the beach its easy.

Great stay by a mountainside jungle

Had a great time staying here with my wife and our family.There was a small on site pool with a slide and some reduced common equipment ( pool, ping pong and two weight machines in the gym), 10 minute walk downhill to a beautiful beach that never got too busy and an amazing view.

Great family vacation at la playa blanca

This was an amazing week. The location is unique and the beach is more than prefect. We were there in march and during the week it was really quiet. The supermarket on site (7 minutes by car) is more than enough and the icecream shop next to it was appreciated by the boys !!! The road to the beach is a 5 minuteswalk but it is steep if you have problems walking for us it was perfect.

Winter 2024 getaway

The views were fantastic from the balcony. The entire property was well maintained and the community pool was very enjoyable. The folks on site were very friendly and helpful. Then unit was clean and comfortable. The host was fantastic and helped us even after the stay was over.

Girls Week Away

Our week turned out to be one of the best at this location. Communication was quick and easy. There were several red flags when we arrived: broken sliding door lock, remote for LR A/C was broken, dishwasher wasn’t working and ALL were addressed within three days. We were grateful for the attention. Thank you, Lee, for being attentive and making us feel safe. We'd love to come back again.

Super accommodating, great stay!

Property is as described - wonderful, and owner is very accommodating. We had no major issues. Beach is nearby and is, as others have described down a significant hill, which can be an issue for the elderly. Be advised! If you want to see other parts of CR, consider that travel is not exactly convenient and many outings need to be pre-arranged [pricing, tickets and availability vary]. Plan accordingly. We had a lovely stay.

The property has poor maintenance, the refrigerator is not working well and the garbage extractor, the jacuzzi looks old and the pillows needs replacing, the host communication was very good, the access to the beach is not easy, yes is 5 minutes walking however you need to walk up a very steep hill so is not kids friendly, not a easy access. Overall was not what I expected, is not the best option

Pros Nice location close to Playa Blanca House is very nice It has all basic appliances The house is very clean View is breathtaking Price is lower than other options available Cons Communication with owner is very difficult. Instructions provided are mostly inaccurate. "Cuando llegan al hotel, deben de presentar a los guardas la invitación que se ha creado o el código de acceso. Cada carro debe de tener su propia copia. Después de recibir los brazaletes, deben de continuar y seguir presentando esta invitación a todos los guardas hasta que lleguen a Golden Reef". The fact is, brazaletes are not provided. I guess this applys to club members only. It's misleading anyway. Half the the lights don't work. Lamps especially. The place needs some serious maintenance.

Beautiful beach location

My family loved this house! Playa Blanca is an amazing beach and just short 5 min walk. The street down to the beach is steep but a little exercise is always good. We saw toucans and monkeys between the house and the beach. The sand on the beach is so soft and the waves were just the right size to have fun and feel safe. We had some success catching small fish from the beach in the mornings. The beach can get crowded on weekends, so get there early to grab a great spot. The views from the balcony were great. We had an amazing Lightning show one night that we’ll never forget. The kids loved the community pool and the local iguanas that came by to eat flower petals. Jaco is about 30 minutes away and was a fun town to shop and eat. We felt safe there. Every room in the house had AC and we loved relaxing in the kitchen and family room. The kitchen supplies were limited, but we were able cook any meal we wanted. The dish washer was also broken, but we’re used to cleaning dishes on vacations so no big deal. Overall, we loved it and enjoyed our stay.

Misleading description

The condo is adequate. It is obvious that the owner doesn’t spend much time at the property—a lot of the lights don’t work, the sliding doors/screens are damaged, the kitchen utensils aren’t good. The balcony is lovely and the view is great. The air conditioning and kitchen appliances worked well. The pool is very nice and the landscaping is well maintained.The large development the condo is in is horrible. It’s a very bumpy congested 15 minute drive from the main road through many guarded checkpoints. You feel very trapped and isolated. I would not come here without a car. My husband tried to walk to the punta Leona reserve (inside the development) and got chiggers and felt unsafe with the narrow roads and lots of traffic. There is only one mini market and 2 restaurants within this huge development. There is a ton of traffic for the beach and the development was not designed well to cater to this extra non-resident traffic. On the weekend it was nuts. Playa Blanca is a beautiful beach and it is only a 5 minute walk from the condo BUT the return trip is very steep and not suitable for people who aren’t in good shape.

Roaches, window that didn’t close, billing issues

Unfortunately we do not recommend this condo. I hesitate to send a bad review because we normally don’t like to complain however we had multiple issues from billing being incorrect for months and top of the list was drain Roaches in the kitchen sink & also bathroom bugs. When we asked the host to address the roaches/bugs a woman showed up and handed us a can of raid; not the appropriate fix. No one ever came to work on the stuck open bathroom window (allowing bugs!). There was no follow up to see how things were going. Supplies are minimal (one garbage bag), and furniture is pretty beat up. Not as shown in photos. The host tried to compensate for billing issues but billed more per night than originally agreed to in original agreement. Overall a horrible experience.

Great pool/view, condo needs some improvements

Pros: The pool was amazing! Definitely the highlight of our stay. The view from the patio was beautiful and a great place to relax. The bathrooms were really nicely updated. The beach was nice as well. Cons: The doorknobs and window locks need serious upgrades. The hallway bathroom window lock was broken and the window was open (with no screen). I found the screw on the window sill and screwed it back in place to have the lock work again. The patio sliding door knobs felt like they were about to fall off and didn't latch very well. We didn't realize this at first and ended up with some bugs that snuck inside because there was a small gap. The road/security checkpoint is right outside the two bedrooms so there was quite a bit of noise, especially around 6:30am. Added info: When we arrived all of the water was turned off. The security guard was able to turn it on for us. Not the best first impression. The road from the highway to the Punta Leona Club is a tight dirt road with lots of potholes. It's enough of a deterrent that you probably won't want to venture out each day or multiple times a day. There was a little super market, restaurant, and ice cream shop that has most of what you need, a 5 minute drive away on good roads. Based on previous reviews the host has made some improvements. There was dish soap, hand soap, towels, and beach towels available to use. We had to buy dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent, which the market had small single use quantities of.

Amazing beach and ocean views, bare bones condo.

This is my honest review and my personal opinion. The host is fantastic, answered all our questions, was flexible with our check out based on flight delays. Check in process is super easy. No complaints there. A couple of things that kind of bothered us though, this condo is very bare bones. What I mean is they don’t provide anything not even the basics. So in the kitchen there isn’t even coffee, salt, pepper, anything to cook with like olive oil or anything. There are pots and pans. There wasn’t even a dish towel to wipe off dishes with. No beach towels either. So If you are staying you have to go to the store and buy everything. The dishwasher was broken, no big deal, the jacuzzi tub looks like it had a hole in it that was repaired. They do provide a lot of soap in the showers though. As far as getting in, to get to the condo is a 4 mile drive off the main rd. It’s fine but every time you want to get somewhere you have to drive all the way out and back in. You don’t have access to the hotel amenities just the condo pool (which is nice) but the hotel restaurant is off limits. The one restaurant you can go to the food was not good at all. Next to that is a pops which serves Ice cream. That was good, and next to that is a convenience store which sells all the things. If you go to the main entrance and make a right the restaurant that is right there Ostra is fantastic. The beach is a short walk down a steep hill (good exercise) and is amazing. The sand is so soft and cool. Take a walk down towards the rocks and you will see crab and oysters and other wild life. Monkeys and scarlet macaws are beautiful. So that and the view from the condo make up for what it is lacking inside. Overall a good stay, would just suggest to the host to provide more of the basics even salt and pepper would be a good start. Do some updates to the condo itself and it would be a much more pleasant stay.

Amazing stay!

Beautiful property in an absolutely stunning location. Finding the gated entrance was easy. Our host provided us with a code to show to the guard, and the guard gave us better directions to where we were going. From there it’s about a 15 minute drive in through oftentimes steep, narrow, and very winding cobblestone roads. The first time through was rather intimidating, especially since we arrived on a Saturday night and there was a ton of foot traffic of locals leaving the public Playa Mantas. Knowing a little Spanish helps as most of the guards spoke little or no English. The condo itself was lovely. Located on the 2nd floor. There are elevators if you’re not up for stairs. We brought my parents and our 2 young children and there was plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone. Views from the balcony were amazing! I was concerned that the balcony railing was high enough for my 1 year old to slide under, so had to watch him like a hawk while out there. Playa Blanca is a private beach controlled by the Punta Leona hotel. We were not allowed to enter using the main entrance. Rather, we had to travel about 200ft further down the road and use a secondary entrance. You can apparently purchase wristbands at the office to be able to use the hotel beach entrance/amenities. As far as we could tell, we were able to use the entire beach, but we stuck close to that entrance. The sand is soft white, and the waves were fun but gentle enough that I felt 100% safe with my 5 year old in with me. The water was very clear! We brought our own snorkeling gear and we had a blast discovering schools of colorful fish, and sea urchin on the undersea rocks. Much of our time was spent at the condo pool. Absolutely gorgeous with a slide and little cave. Views from here are also amazing. Usually empty, but anyone who did show up was very friendly. Jaco is close, and there is at least one restaurant, a small store, and ice cream shop on the gated grounds. I wouldn’t say walking distance, mostly because I wouldn’t feel safe walking on those blind curves with cars coming up. Renting a golf-cart is an option for $40-$60 a day (depends on who you get). We did use this option on beach days as we weren’t about to trek back up to super steep hill with beach gear and kids in tow. Overall an unforgettable experience! We will absolutely be back soon! Pura vida!

This place was great! Very spacious apartment with a fantastic view. Playa Blanca is only a few minutes walk and was the perfect place to spend the last few days of our incredible holiday. We saw scarlet macaws from the balcony every day we were there. I would definitely recommend this place.

Muy buen lugar para quedarse en familia!

El apto muy limpio, impecable, las camas muy confortables, sábanas y toallas en buen estado al igual que la mayoría de los artículos. Por el lado de la cocina, todos los aparatos Electricos funcionan muy bien excepto el lavaplatos, recomendaría actualizar la cocina y refrigerador. El dueño del apto muy pendiente a mis mensajes !

Grand condo dans un petit paradis

Le condo était très propre de même que toute la propriété. Petite piscine à eau fraîche fort appréciée à toute heure du jour. La plage Blanca est une des plus belles du Costa Rica avec son sable blanc et ses belles vagues qui rendent la baignade agréable mais pas dangereuse. Le tout dans une luxuriante réserve avec plein d’oiseaux et singes. Le condo est spacieux avec une belle table sur la terrasse où nous avons pris tous nos repas avec une vue sur la mer et coucher de soleil, les aras écarlates et les pélicans bruns passant régulièrement devant nous. Les lits sont confortables avec deux chambres avec salle de bain privée. La lave use et sécheuse sont fort pratiques et le hamac sur la terrasse à fait notre bonheur à tour de rôle. Il est certain que pour apprécier cet environnement au maximum, il faut avoir un véhicule pour se transporter car épicerie, restos sont au moins à 20 minutes de route. C’est le prix à payer pour être dans ce petit paradis.
