The Woods is a lovely resort and this house is nice. We had two concerns that made the trip much less enjoyable- 1) the MBR closet and kitchen pantry were so full of clutter that they were unusable, and 2) the thermostat was locked at an uncomfortably low level. The host responded promptly, but was unable to address our concerns during our stay.A third concern was resolved, but is helpful to know in advance- there is no outdoor trash receptacle. You have to drive your trash to a drop-off point, so you will need to plan ahead so you aren't stuck with smelly trash overnight. Again, the Woods Resort is lovely and the staff are kind.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. I’m sorry the cluttered closet and pantry, thermostat setting, and trash disposal arrangement made your stay less comfortable. While I’m glad our response was prompt, I regret that we weren’t able to resolve these concerns during your visit. I’ll review these items with our team and make sure the trash-drop-off process and thermostat settings are communicated more clearly in advance.

Gut: Kommunikation und Lage
Location is great, plenty of firewood, quiet area. The front door lock didn’t work, the back yard had bags with trash on the ground, the hot tub water was dirty, the mosquito nets on the back patio were ripped up, the patio heater didn’t have propane in the tank, the grill’s grease pan was full. Property manager responded and solved some of the issue but this all could’ve been avoided with proper cleaning between stays.

Thank you for your feedback, Yegor. I’m glad the location and firewood worked well, and I’m sorry about the condition of the lock, hot tub, patio screens, propane tank, grill, and yard — that falls short of our standards. Our team did respond during your stay, and we’ve since reinforced our turnover checklist and pre-arrival inspections, scheduled repairs/cleaning for the hot tub and screens, arranged service for the lock and grill, and reminded housekeeping to confirm outdoor trash is removed. Your notes help us prevent this from happening again. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention and hope you’ll consider staying with us in the future. Best, Tony & the Blue Maple Team

100% would recommend a stay with Blue Maple! We stay a fair amount with VRBO properties and we have never really had any major issues, until it was 105 degrees in the summer and this listing notes specific parameters for the AC unit to be left at, which seemed to be variable at the discretion on the renter, however, it was actually set and not able to be changed by the renter. So we were in close communication with the rental agency when we needed it to be turned up/down. Tony & his team were great. When there was a concern with the hot tub function, one of his crew was sent out same day and he was a pleasure! The house had what we needed, but closets were packed chock full of someone else’s things, broken items etc, but overall our stay was good and mostly due to Blue Maples impeccable service!

Thank you for recommending a stay with Blue Maple and for the detailed feedback. I’m sorry the AC setup and the closet clutter/broken items affected your stay — that’s not the experience I aim to provide. I’m glad my team was able to respond quickly to the hot tub and assist with the AC. I’ve passed your notes to housekeeping and maintenance so closets will be cleared and repairs completed, and we’ll clarify the AC instructions to avoid future confusion. Thanks again for staying with us. Best, Tony & the Blue Maple Team

Golf trip

The exterior and yard of this property were not maintained. The yard had not been mowed and was all grown up with weeds etc. The cabin itself was nice and represented as shown in the photos.

Nice location, a bit uncomfortable

The area is beautiful, great if you love to golf. The cabin itself is poorly made. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. We stayed for a month, which was about 3 weeks too long. And the dishwasher kept breaking. Communication about it was super easy though. And being able to bring my dog was fantastic, he loved exploring and it helped since we were moving to the area and had to move him with us.

This cabin was great stay for a family. Just some small issues. The handbook did not explain how to use the gas fireplace. They said it was wood and it was not. House was great with being able to open all doors with a breeze. Screened it deck was nice but they need new comfortable chairs. Fire pit was awesome. Wasn't prepared for the broken hot tub on the deck which took up space. If they add a hot tub here I would stay again in a heart beat . You are close to some people but you can't control if they are loud.

The Woods WV

The Woods has lots to offer golfers and those who don't. Played racquetball for the first time in 20 yrs. The large screened parch is wonderful. The house accommodated 4 people comfortably. Blue Maple, the property management, were very responsive and friendly. The house is ready for a renovation especially the kitchen & baths. I believe I left the house cleaner than when I arrived. The condition of the yard and landscaping is terrible. The Woods club house, bar & restaurant, had a fire some time ago and The Woods does not appear to be in a hurry to rebuild. Would have been nice to know that it was not available.Had a wonderful stay, but the house and grounds are in need of some TLC.
