The house was fantastic and had more than enough space for our large family. What was particularly great was the large table where we always ate before we went to the very large swimming pool.

Our family of 12 loved everything about Gabbianuzzo...the house, the pool, the magnificent property and the attention to details. Erik and Julie are wonderful hosts! We all hated to leave.

Absolutely beautiful villa with stunning views.

We loved our stay at this property. The villa is spacious and the views are stunning. Castelleni and Radda are quaint towns a short drive nearby. We also did day trips to Florence, Siena, and San Gimiginano. The owners provided helpful tips in booklets for getting around too! The kitchen was awesome too. We especially enjoyed to Pool too! Family vacation

Due to delays this trip was four years in the making...we had our son and his family of four (daughter in college was unavailable unfortunately) our daughter and her family of four and her in-laws for two weeks and our stay was extended another week. The property was wonderful the town of Castellina wonderful and accommodating. Weather was great didn't realize that September is the busiest for Italy, would probably make the next visit later in Sept. early October.

The property was exactly what we were looking for. In the middle of Chianti, perfectot

Perfect location in the heart of Chianti. The farmhouse was well equipped from the kitchen to the bedrooms. Bathrooms were great and exceeded expectations. Easy to have a chef come and prepare an excellent meal. The landscape was stunning, vineyards hills and valleys and wildlife. Erik was accommodating Waco made the rental process easy. I would recommend to best friends as well as anyone who asked.

80th birthday celebration

The villa was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the villa and the gorgeous view. We had 3 rental cars. The one drawback was the gravel driveway. The steep inclines and the ditch on the syof the road was very concerning to every driver That was are only problem. It can use work. Thanks Maureen

Crazy Beautiful!

My family - 14 people (10 adults and 4 children) has almost finished our week at Villa Gabbianuzzo! The pain of leaving ;( This house is nothing short of outstanding! We are so lucky to have shared this rambling villa for a week. Erik (owner) was so efficient in all communications prior to visit. This place is heaven on earth - we cannot say one negative at all! I thoroughly recommend this magnificent place. The close proximity to Siena and Florence and San Gimignano actually surprised me. Look - I could go on...but I have to get back to the pool and the views! Come stay!

Great Stay in a Great Location

We were a group of 8 family and friends who came together for a week in Castellina. The house was perfect for our needs and the weather allowed us to enjoy the outdoor amenities. While the pool was a bit chilly, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the unseasonably warm weather by the pool and on the terrace. We loved the large kitchen and took advantage of the local markets to make several dinners during our stay. It was great having 2 refrigerators for our large group not to mention a dishwasher to help with the post-meal clean-ups. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glassware, pots and pans. The house is definitely a bit off the beaten path, but is still an easy drive to Castellina in Chianti where there are a number of restaurants and a market. Radda and Panzano are 2 other towns in close proximity to the villa. All of our group would definitely stay here again.

Excellence beyond compare

What a wonderful stay we had for our first of a three week adventure in Italy. The whole family, 17 of us in total, were able to relax, visit, unwind and enjoy all that Tuscany had to offer. Day trips to Firenza (Florence), Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, and the smaller Castellina towns proved to be exciting and fun but knowing we were headed back to the relaxing atmosphere the Villa had to offer was wonderful. Everyone had a great time swimming, reading on the deck, learning about the history of Gabbianuzzo, cooking meals and enjoying the wonderful Chianti wines of the area. Erik was great about communicating and little touches were enjoyed such as the homemade olive oil and lavender oil to take. As many others have commented the place was refreshing with wonderful smells and scenery beyond compare! I know I speak for my family when I say I highly recommend this rental.

Better than expected.

We absolutely enjoyed every second of our stay. Views were crazy nice, stars at night incredible, rooms huge and bathrooms even bigger than we imagined. Handbooks and guides provided are perfect, internet and sonos right on. Kitchen more than enough cooking/eating supplies. Same w towels/linens etc. Pool was nice although we spent most our time off property doing the tourist thing, We picked this location for access to all of Tuscany and worked out well. Even the little town of Castellina had good restaurants and great deli for pick up and eating back at the Villa. We had 10 adults and never felt crowded, and all our out-of-town guest loved the stay. Erik is a stand up host. Good Job Erik! We look forward to coming back in 2026 for more than just 11 days.

Bellisima!

Our group had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in the countryside of Tuscany. While a bit difficult to find, the directions and GPS coordinates helped immensely and we enjoyed every minute of our quiet stay here. The property is near an adorable town, Castellina in Chianti, and perfectly located for day trips to Siena, Florence and even Volterra. We were surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was (perfect for chefs to cook & lots of refrigerator space to keep things cool!) and our kids loved using the pool and playing soccer/football in the historic courtyard at sunset. The house is exactly what I would expect for a property in Tuscany, no fuss, but very comfortable with laundry and air con for hot nights. Erik, the host, was also very responsive when we had some issues with the air con in the first few days and helped us get that fixed quickly. Our group made a pact to come back in 10 years if you will have us, Erik! We really enjoyed our stay and thank you for all of your help and sharing your home with us!

The Perfect “Under the Tuscan Sun” Home

Our family of 13 had a memorable stay in this beautiful home. The home is perfectly spaced so everyone had enough room for themselves. The large updated kitchen and beautiful outdoor loggia were able to accommodate our big group. We spent hours on the terrace in the morning, and late afternoon watching the scenic green forest, grape vines, olive trees, an occasional deer, and listening to the birds sing. The pool was great to cool down in on a hot day. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and exactly what we had hoped it would be. The town of Castellina is charming and had a personality of its own. We immediately fell in love with it: the stores, shop owners, bars and restaurants. The people are welcoming and friendly. The home is centrally located for day trips to: Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence, and Chianti Wine tasting. We hope to return again one day. The welcome guides are extremely helpful and detailed to help you make the most of your stay. Thank you Erik and Julie for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

Nice Tuscany villa

Erik, the host is very friendly and communications were timely & great. The housekeeper, Carolina (and her kids) were very helpful /responsive in the checkin, cleaning and checkout process. Thank you Erik for the villa.. we had a fun time! This country villa is spacious enough for the 8 of us, with individualized AC in bedrooms, and heater controls on each floor. The kitchen is well equipped and large for multiple cooks, dining space is great, and the balcony accomodates our Happy Hour (when it was sunny). The pool at the upper terrace is big but the cooler climate did not permit us much swimming. The outdoor space has nice terraced landscaped. Great backyard views of Tuscan hills and vineyards. We saw wild boars, deers, and a fox. Villa location is great, as it is a great base for all day trips to nearby Etruscan/Roman cities/towns in Tuscany, and there are many to explore. So many nearby great Chianti Classico wineries. Downtown Castellina and Panzano are about 10 minutes away, and are full of local shops and restaurants. People are very, very friendly. The 0.5 mile gravel driveway is steep at certain sections. May consider a SUV rental for high clearance.

Fabulous vacation home!

Thanks to Erik and Chama and Majid for making our stay at Podere Gabbianuzzo such a wonderful experience. The house easily accommodated us and our guests and there were many days when we wanted to do nothing but simply enjoy the property and not wander around Tuscany! But wander we did, and Gabbianuzzo was a superb jumping off point. The people of Castellina in Chianti were friendly and welcoming and Erik and Julie pointed us to many people who provided yummy meals and delicious pastries! Of course, we ventured out on our own, but the extremely helpful information prepared by Erik and Julie was invaluable as we made decisions about where to explore. All of our guests sat around the dining table poring over the booklets to plan their days. Those who followed the suggestions about Florence and Siena said they were perfect! The kitchen was well-equipped; in fact we could have had several big parties if only we had known people to invite!. Thank you for your contributions to our wonderful holiday. Our 2 1/2 year-old grandson keeps asking to go back on the plane to his Italy home! And we loved Chama and Majid, who despite the language barriers, were extremely helpful and good-natured. Grazie!

Heaven! Exceeded all expectations!

I just returned (reluctantly) from a month at Gabbianuzzo where I celebrated a big birthday with family and friends! It is the perfect house in which to bring large groups together, but still feel that there is plenty of personal space! Folks did their own thing during the day and gathered around the pool in the afternoon and then later around the farm table for a leisurely meal late at night! From Florence to Siena to the art festival in Certaldo to multiple visits to the butcher in Panzano and, of course, the lovely town of Castellina, we all agreed that the opportunities to explore were endless. I even took my five and four year old grand-children to a ropes course designed for all ages and they had a blast! Just follow Erik's advice on taking advantage of the area and you will not go wrong! I went into town each morning to pick up fresh bread from the bakery and had my Italian lovingly corrected by the friendly woman behind the counter. Erik will give you suggestions on where and what to order for a take-out dinners in Castellina and all food was fabulous! The kitchen is a cook's dream and we all enjoyed assembling the side dishes to accompany the main dish that I picked up each night. I think that all friends and family would agree that Gabbianuzzo and Italy stole a part of our hearts! It's a perfect house and location to bring people together!

Radsport Woche mit Freunden

Großes Haus, gut ausgestattete Küche für große Gruppen, ruhige Lage mit Fernblick. Es sind 800 steile Meter Schotter bis zur Hauptstraße, wir mussten unsere Rennräder dorthin hochschieben. Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im Ort. Der Poolbereich ist sehr schön, das Haus hat Charme und etwas Patina, wie bei älteren Landhäusern üblich. Kommunikation mit Vermieter sehr gut.

Toller Familienurlaub

Das Haus hat uns vollends überzeugt. Waren mit 16 Personen, die Hälfte davon Kinder, im wundervollen Chianti. Sehr liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und super ausgestattet. Schade, dass das Wetter immer so schön war, hätten gern auch mal die gemütlichen Wohnzimmer genutzt. Küche für viele Personen großzügig ausgestattet. Übergabe und auch Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war problemlos. Der Pool ist sehr lang und wurde ausgiebig für Wasserballschlachten genutzt. Der Pflanzungen ringsum haben einen wunderbares Bild abgegeben. Es liegt recht abgelegen, der Zufahrtsweg ist evtl nicht für jedes Fahrzeug geeignet. Dafür hat man die Gelegenheit viele Tiere zu hören und manchmal auch zu sehen. Siena, Florenz oder auch Castellina sind abwechslungsreiche Ausflugsziele. Einige unserer Familie sind Ausreiten gegangen, was super geklappt hat, nur leider die jüngste Pferdebegeisterte durfte nicht mit, leider erst ab 14 Jahren möglich! Wir sind schweren Herzens wieder nachhause gefahren.

Toskanisches Idyll

Der liebevoll restaurierte Bauernhof liegt einsam in einem Tal in der Nähe des Städtchens Castellina in Chianti (10 Minuten mit dem Pkw). Die große Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Gelände ist weitläufig und der große Pool perfekt für sportliches Schwimmen und entspanntes Plantschen. Es gibt in und um das Anwesen viel zu entdecken an Flora und Fauna (Rehe, Fledermäuse..). Es gibt sowohl Orte, an denen man sich in großer Gruppe (maximal 16 Personen) gesellig zusammenfinden kann als auch Rückzugsorte für Groß und Klein. Die Eigentümer haben in liebevoll und sorgfältig gestalteten Heften in englischer und französischer Sprache zahlreiche wertvolle Tipps und Informationen z.Bsp. zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten zusammengestellt. Es ist ein Ort mit einer schönen und positiven Atmosphäre, der sich für einen Mehrgenerationenurlaub sehr gut eignet. Die bisherigen positiven Bewertungen, die mich neben dem sehr angenehmen schriftlichen Kontakt mit dem Vermieter zu der Buchung motiviert haben, sind aus meiner Sicht wohlverdient. Es ist jedoch anzumerken, dass ein Schlafraum mit eigenem Bad , die sich im vormaligen Esel- bzw. Hühnerstall befinden, eine Souterrainatmosphäre haben. Die Zufahrt zu dem Anwesen besteht aus einer Schotterstraße ( ca 1000 Meter). Diese führt auf und ab und ist sehr uneben. Eine Herausforderung für normale PKWs und Fahrer (Aufsetzgefahr.) ).

After spending vacations every year in Tuscany - we just love this region - we've decided to acquire this house for it to become our family's vacation house and sufficiently large so that (many) friends can stay with us during our vacation.

When we are not using the house ourselves, we rent it out to guests.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We looked for a house which would be sufficiently large to host family and friends in a comfortable way. On top of that, this house has a particular charm which is hard to describe in words, but which all travelers feel. Something eternal.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

I highlight certain points below:
1. Sleeping comfort: Unlike in so many rental places, we didn't want our guests to sleep in convertible couches. So there are 16 sleeping places in beds for 16 guests. These beds are spread over 6 beautiful bedrooms, which in turn are well spread over the house (with old thick walls) so that everyone had their privacy. There are also 2 baby cots available.
2. Table pleasure: We love to cook and we've made sure that the kitchen is pleasant for cooks and for those keeping them company. The house is very well equipped with tableware and kitchenware (including the champagne glasses for celebrations or an aperitivo on the terrace), for meals for up to 30 people. Everyone enjoys the truly unique "loggia", which is some sort of porch. It's a covered yet open terrace, where we have placed a beautiful long wooden table which can host up to 20 people. In the summer, without exception, this place becomes the center of the social life in the house.
3. Another distinctive element of the house is the very long pool (16 meters) but not deep...so the water heats up more rapidly, and it's less dangerous. It's perfect both for those who want to swim their lanes in the morning (such as me) and for the children during the day. The pool can be lit at night.
4. Last but not least, the house has an exceptional situation, in a very quiet and beautiful valley, far away from neighbors, yet at only 10 minutes driving of the center of the renowned village of Castellina in Chianti. The village is full of charm and hosts all restaurants, grocery shops, wineries, which you may look for. Since this year, there is also a mountain bike rental shop. Adding up to its exceptional location of the house is the very central location of the village itself, right in between Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo
