Hey Carolyn, we're very sorry for the situations that occurred during your stay. The gas leak was out of our control. We acted on it immediately once you reported to us, and it was/is fully resolved. When we spoke directly with the owner of the gas company, he took full responsibility for the leak and said it should never have happened and should never happen again. The home does have the necessary fire and carbon monoxide detectors, but it is not standard to have propane detectors beyond the sensor on our tank that alerts the company when it is low. We did send you a substantial refund for the delay in hot water & inconvenience with the repair, even though it was taken care of very quickly. We were contacted around 5pm Friday and the company came at 8am Saturday to fix it. Regarding the elevator, it was functioning prior to your arrival and during your stay. The troubleshooting tips we sent over helped you figure it out shortly after you arrived and it clarified how to use the elevator, with no trouble for the remaining days. Lastly, neither of these issues could be resolved by a maintenance team, which is why we contacted the necessary people and the fire department instead of sending someone from maintenance out.
