I also appreciate the feedback regarding the bed and will certainly take that into consideration as we continue improving the guest experience. Regarding the ceiling height, you're absolutely right—this is a vintage Chicago building, and while we include photos of the space, guests who are especially tall may find some of the doorways and basement areas lower than those found in newer construction. We’re very sorry this added stress during an already difficult trip, and we extend our condolences to you and your family. When the issue was reported, we took it seriously and sent our contractor to the property promptly. By the time he arrived, the door had been opened, and he was able to repeatedly open and close it without difficulty. He made a minor adjustment to the strike plate and noted that the unusually wet/humid weather may have caused the wood door to temporarily swell and stick. Our contractor subsequently returned and again confirmed that the door and locking mechanism were functioning properly and that the door opened and closed normally. We take guest safety seriously and would never knowingly rent a unit with an unsafe or nonfunctioning entrance. We regret that the temporary sticking of the door caused frustration during your stay and appreciate the opportunity to clarify that the door was inspected and confirmed operational.
