This was the second time we stayed in the garden apt. Jeds place is right around the block from our Chicago Family. Apt is we well located for shops/restaurants. We noticed the updates. Looking good. Everything you need is there. Comfortable/homey/clean.

Perfect Spot

This place is in the perfect spot. Groceries and a delicious diner a block away, a nearby train station, and a bus stop around the corner; just perfect. The place was clean and cozy, the host was very friendly and communicative, we loved our stay. Will definitely return!

Great Stay!

I enjoyed a weekend stay here for the Chicago Marathon and it was great! The location was on a nice, quiet street, while still being close to stores for anything you need and public transportation (trains & busses). The apartment was clean and had all the necessities and the host was very kind and communicative. Would highly recommend!

Cozy space and a cute neighborhood

This property had everything we needed to explore Chicago for a few days. The neighborhood is very cute and walkable, and everything in the apartment worked as it should. One thing You need to know is that this is a basement apartment with low ceilings.

Great place! Clean, easy in and out for a Cubs game and Wrigley Field!

We just stayed two nights the second night going to a Cubs game using Lyft. We used the train to go downtown the first night just a 7-10 minute walk from the house and we felt completely safe walking.

Cubs/Reds game

Great place to stay while attending a Cubs game, especially if you have a dog traveling with you. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Close to bus route to Wrigley Field, less than a block. Our favorite place to eat was Easy Street Pizza and Beer Garden, 2922 W. Irving Pard Rd., which is a short drive approximately 7 blocks away.

The hobbit house

Yes the ceiling is a little low. Location is great, and the house was clean. Had all the items we needed. Host answered almost immediately with all the questions we had. Parking was very convenient! Highly recommended.

The apartment is in the perfect location if you are going to Wrigley Field. Just a short bus ride away. It was also a short walk to the station to take the train into the city. Perfect location for anything you wanted to do. The apartment was very clean and matched the description given. I have never had better communication with an owner before this stay. He answered any question that we had and checked in on us. We would totally stay here again in the future when we visit Chicago.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting our daughter and her fiancé. It’s in a good location, we felt safe and loved that we had parking passes so we could park right in front of the house. We never had an issue finding parking. It’s definitely a basement and has a basement smell, not bad, but it’s there. The ceilings (door frames) are lower than expected. My husband is 6’2” and was constantly pumping his head. The heat is controlled by the owner which we thought was very strange. Over all it worked for us, we weren’t there often, just to sleep.

Terrific stay and

The property is perfect for a single person or small group of people. As noted in other reviews, it's the basement made into a living space and has low ceilings. As someone that is 5'3", this wasn't an issue for me. The pictures are true to actual accommodations. The laundry room is also in the basement area and easily accessible. The host, Jedidiah, communicated with me from the time of booking through the end of my stay - providing helpful check-in information, answering questions, checking on my stay to ensure I had all needed, letting me know of events occurring around the house - roof inspection, and also upon checkout. Quick and helpful information. Overall, a great property and host!

Great location

Comfy and roomy. My husband, older teenager son and I stayed here while my son attended a sports camp in Indiana. Because we had to drive about 1.5hr a few days during our stay we HAD to rent a car. Even with crazy construction going on everywhere our host made parking a breeze. That being said you absolutely do not need a car to explore the city. Chicago public transportation is great! As for the home it was comfy and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the restroom and kitchen were clean. It’s in a nice peaceful neighborhood within walking distance of many restaurants and the blue line train station which basically will take you directly into downtown I no time. Checking in and out was easy and our host was very attentive. If we ever decide to come out to a Cubs game we hope to stay here again.

This basement apartment which is in the Irving Park neighborhood also borders popular neighborhoods such as Avondale, Lakeview, Roscoe Village, North Center, Old Irving Park and Logan Square. Just a few blocks away from the Revolution Beer Company, Abby Pub, Kumas Corner and Olive Garden. Best yet, a Portillo's restaurant with a Chicago Gangster theme is currently planned to be built one block away!

Public bus and train minutes away. The unit is close to all public transportation. This includes the CTA 152 Addison bus, the Addison Blue Line train station, Metra Train, and Uber or Lyft. The Blue Line brings you to downtown Chicago & O'hare airport. Only a seven minute walk to the Chicago "L" Train, which is the train going into downtown; including the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and Oak Street. The bus is at the end of the block that takes about 10 minutes to Wrigley Field (I'm right off of Addison St). Major expressway very close as well (I-90/I-94). You can get to any part of the city or the Chicago-land area very quickly from this location.

The unit with many imperfections is our personal space that we gladly share with you. Comfy and cozy with exposed pipes this old style is the ambiance of the unit. Its a place to rest after exploring our beautiful neighborhood and city of Chicago. The residence has other apartments and other tenants that live there. There are pets on the premises (not in your apartment) that are very well trained however you may hear them from time-to-time. The ceilings are low but not uncommonly low for a garden apartment. In Chicago a basement apartment is considered a garden apartment. The unit is not close to downtown Chicago, the lake, or the Magnificent Mile but very much in the City of Chicago. The subway and bus that will take you to these attractions are very close. Please look where this location sits on a map of the city.
