However, Via you writing you had a great stay in our guest book and then crossing it out after receiving my message via the app from the previous night and then rating us 1 star is very harmful. We strive to be a welcoming, pet-friendly property and clearly note in our listing that guests may hear some barking during certain hours listed due to our on-site pet care service. Many of our guests find this environment ideal for traveling with pets. During your stay, I reached out politely to check in after noticing some extended barking after our dogs were all ready in bed and down for the evening, simply to offer solutions — including soothing music or dog TV — which help our dogs and have helped previous guests with anxious pets. Our intention and verbiage was to be helpful and proactive, not critical. We do live on-site and aim to maintain a respectful environment for all living creatures, so if a pet is consistently distressed when left alone, we’re always happy to offer options like doggy daycare or discuss other solutions. Communication and mutual consideration are key in a shared pet-friendly space. I understand you taking offense to my message as we have dogs who bark as well but we had no complaints from you prior about the barking if it was bothering you. If we had, we would have taken your concern seriously and taken action to also calm our dogs. Your review felt more like retaliation to my polite message with ideas to help. Nevertheless, we wish you the best in your future travels.
