Beautiful area. Lots to explore and a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle. The shops nearby are great. Lots of asian beetles found their way in the cabin. The guidebook provided by the host was very helpful.

Thanks again for choosing to stay at the Lisney Grand Log Cabin. We enjoyed meeting you and look forward to your future return. We like to remind our guests that you will be staying in an Amish built log cabin surrounded by the Kickapoo Valley Reserve State Park and farm land. As such, every fall the Asian and Box Elder Beetles make their way inside. They are a yearly nuisance but are harmless. Once the weather turns cold they disappear. Please rest assure that we are doing everything in our power to mitigate their seasonal invasion. Thanks for your understanding, and see you next year!

It is a big beautiful cabin that was a perfect getaway for me and my family. We were in walking distance to The Kickapoo Valley Reserve and the Rockton Bar. We hunted pheasants, hiked, visited local attractions and ate very well. Brian is very accommodating and friendly host.Thank you Brian!

Perfect Autumn weekend getaway. Very nice cabin had everything we needed for our weekend. So much beauty to see in the area and this was a wonderful base camp. The bar & grill around the corner has a delicious Friday night fish fry and perfect place to watch the Brewers win game one of the World Series. When it says rustic though keep in mind there is no TV or internet at the cabin. I was so glad to disconnect and it was a plus for us, but it wasn’t spelled out. The beds are firm so if you are a soft bed princess like me, bring a pad with your bedding. We made it to a couple wineries in the area…Yum! And the Amish Walmart was a must experience. Thank you for the recommendation! So, if getting away from the hustle and getting back to nature is your thing. This cabin will not disappoint.

I take my kids to this cabin annually for our kayak trip on the Kickapoo. It works well for us as it sleeps 10, is close to the kayak rentals and within walking distance to the Rockton Bar. The host is very easy to work with and lives right next door. So, he can respond quickly if we need something. He also provides firewood for a reasonable fee. The kids love staying there and look forward to this trip each year.

It was a clean property with a clean process of checking in and out. The host was very responsive to messages and responded in a very timely manner. If I were to come back, I would definitely try and rent from them again.

We had a group of 8 guys out for a golf trip for 2 nights. The place was perfect. Plenty of sleeping space. Basic necessities. 5 minute walk to Rockton Bar (great food and atmosphere). Couldn't recommend it enough. Will definitely visit again.

Nice country side cabin, yet close to every outdoor activities.

Very neat cabin house, which is ideal to outdoor lover. Many natural hiking trails and outdoor activities nearby. Cayak, fishing, ATV, and horse back riding are available on the spot. I will need to stay longer to do these activities.

Great Family get away!

Unplug and unwind! This was a great cabin to connect with family and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The cabin was exactly as described. Beautiful views and lovely interior. Everything you need is provided. Highly recommend and we will be back! Highly enjoyed the swing and back porch. Great way to wake up with the birds and a cup of coffee!!

Our stay

Loved the wrap around porch. Plenty of space. Even though there are houses nearby, it was very quiet. We had a little issue with wasps when we first got there but luckily they have spray there.

The house was in a great location. It was clean and well maintained. The backyard had a firepit and nice deck. Brian was attentive and in communication with me. My only complaint was having to bring our own bedding. That's not the most convenient for traveling.

Family reunion

We stayed in Brian’s cabin for a family reunion in La Farge and had a wonderful stay. The cabin was spacious, cozy, clean, and tidy. Brian was also very friendly and helpful when he stopped by to welcome us and tell us all about the area. Lastly, I loved all the beds in the cabin - plenty of room for our big crew to sleep comfortably and soundly. Would love to come back soon.

Spacious cabin

My husband and I rented this cabin for a few days. One of the reason we chose them was because their pet friendly, we have 2 elderly dogs. The cabin was clean and very spacious. The communication with Host/Owner was excellent!! Brian was always quick to respond on questions and he made sure to check in (thru phone) on us to make everything was alright & asking if we needed anything. If you like nature & serenity this is the area for you. Minutes from Wildcat Mountain, kayaking/canoeing, etc.

Spacious cabin minutes from hiking

Cozy cottage with enough room to sleep at least 10 people. Full kitchen to make all meals. Very clean and super cute. We had a relaxing couple of days over Thanksgiving weekend. It was cold but we hiked Wildcat Mountain, the Ice Cave Trail as well as many spots in the Kickapoo reserve. Beautiful Amish country with cool antique shops around. We visited Wildthings Furs right around the corner and bought affordable furs. We also found some treasures at the Amish Walmart. The reception is spotty at the cabin, perfect for unplugging for awhile. We watched the Packer game at the Rockton bar, a 5 minute walk down the road. We brought a small tv and a PlayStation to watch old movies on and played a few games. A very nice relaxing mini vacation, we will definitely be back to enjoy the Kickapoo river in the summer.

Family Reunion

We enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Amish Cabin. It was located in quiet neighborhood and had a beautiful view. It is not actually located in La Farge but in a small town about 9 miles away called Rockton. (It is unincorporated so I assume that is why it says it is located in La Farge). The cabin felt like a modern version of Little House on the Prairie. Wifi was not available and our cell service was very poor so using our GPS to get around the area was tricky sometimes. The owners were very responsive when we had questions. Be sure to read through the entire description before reserving. I assumed that beds would have linens and they didn't. Also, I didn't realize I had to adjust the number of guests that would be staying there so it added an unexpected cost at check-out. We were thrilled that we could bring our dog (for a fee). The hinges on the doors were very loud.
