Great location and fantastic views. Our family (2 adults, girls ages 7 and 3) had a great time. The walk to the beach is very short (but hill is steep) and the cafe down the hill was nice to visit each morning. We have stayed in various rentals in the area and found that this place has good value.

Fantastic location with gorgeous ocean views!
Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed this condo for our weekend stay. We spent most of our time, when we were at home, on the patio, watching the ocean, listening to the waves, and if it was dark, we turned on the fireplace. Everything worked perfectly and was configured so well for our group. We walked/ran along the beach daily, went to the museum, and had a delicious meal at the Rio Cafe at the bottom of the hill. I hope to return again someday soon!

Great View
The property was clean and comfortable. The balcony has a great view of the ocean and beach. It is a little hike downhill to the beach and uphill back to the condo. Great if you want a little exercise. Loved walking down to the small cafe for coffee in the morning. Overall, good experience.

Great place, needs a clearer address
The description is exactly right. The couch has a pullout bed, but is also comfy enough for someone to sleep on alone. Small, but functional kitchen...and the view!!! Wow! We stay at the beach in the region every summer. This was our first time at this condo and it was great.

Great beach view & sound
A short walk to Rio Del Mar beach and exceptional views from the condo & balcony of this Aptos location made for the perfect 5 day getaway for the 4 of us. The Rio Del Mar market at the bottom of the street is a great bodega for all the stuff you forgot. Comfortable & clean, well-equipped, responsive management rounded out this package. The sounds of the ocean made for a relaxing and constant soundtrack for this trip.

Beach getaway!
This amazing view is breathtaking. The apartment is convenient with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped even though counter space is limited. With the floor to ceiling windows, you can enjoy the beautiful view from the dining area, kitchen or living room. Having coffee while listening to the waves was spectacular. It is a short walk to the beach and downhill, but the trip back is all uphill. Very convenient and location is unbeatable.

Great spot but be aware of where you park.
Overall the place was great. The only thing I can say is the parking arrangements arent made clear as far as location goes. There is a parking lot at the bottom of the hill and there are parking areas up in front of the apartments. The apartments spots are labeled but I didnt see them untill after going to the pool. No biggie just something to be aware of. We would absolutely stay again.

Great location!
Amazing views; complete panoramic of the entire Monterey Bay! Nice, quiet neighborhood. Great to have deli & small market at the bottom of the hill. Also nice to have free parking lot at the bottom of the hill; the walk down to the beach isn't bad, but when wanting to spend the day on the beach with chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc., it was convenient to just be able to drive down with all our stuff & unload it right there near the sand. Property management is extremely communicative and responsive. Only reason for giving 4 and not 5 stars is that while the condo is nice, it's a bit lacking in amenities (e.g.- no bathroom floor mats; had to use one of very few towels provided on the floor so as not to slip getting out of the shower; and, while the neighborhood is quiet overall, there was constant maintenance going on in the complex, making it noisy, hard to have windows open for fresh air & sleeping in.) Nothing major or "bad," per se; nothing that would keep me from booking here again if we wanted to stay in the same area again.

View of Waves and Sunsets!
Overall, a great stay. Fun to watch kids on the beach, or just the waves, even if you stay on the balcony. Unit is all one level, no stairs from parking. (There is one level of units below.) Beds were older but okay. A steep sidewalk down to beach level (5-10 min). Good sandwiches at the deli there. Restaurants a few minutes drive away. Capitola and Santa Cruz not far, but beware of work commute times on Hwy 1. It got unusually hot our last days (early Oct.) without an ocean breeze, but we found a fan in a living room closet. We didn't really cook, but there are extra pots/pans in the hall closet (& step stool). Coin laundry (quarters only) was helpful, but I had to ask a resident where it was. Wish they had mentioned that in listing info. (Go down farthest stairs to the left when looking at the building. Laundry is just before pool gate.) Units and parking spots are marked, but not all in alphabetical order. You'll figure it out.

Gorgeous view! But...
The view was amazing! But our stay was stressful. The temperatures were really high and there are no fans. The complimentary local activities were suspended due to COVID, but no one seemed to know it. The website was under construction and wouldn’t let me book, then when I called I was put on hold then eventually told the property manager had suspended all the activities. (Although county guidelines still allow water sports.) In one communication, we were told to put the garbage cans out on the curb, and there are no cans to put out. We made sure the garbage was in the hole in the ground, but it didn’t get picked up on the regular day. Neither did the neighbor’s. So we ended up carrying out our trash, so as not to get blamed for not doing what we were supposed to do. There is a gas fireplace, which is a nice touch, but it does not light by itself. We needed to use a candle lighter to get it to catch. It would have been nice to know this before we turned on the gas the first time.

Yes the free activities were cancelled due to COVID as nothing is open at this time. Yes the older gas fireplaces need a match to light, which is what this one is, it does not work off a thermostat. Quick Getaway Trip.
Nice place to stay and get away. The view is beautiful. The only recommendation is that the kitchen items need to be upgraded and checked for cleanliness after each visit. Many items had to be washed before we could use them. Also, note there is no washer and dryer in unit. Being so close to the beach It would have been nice.

We enjoyed staying here with our 9-year-old grandson for one of his three weeks of fall break. Some pluses include the spectacular view, newer and comfortable furniture, a glass wall of expensive soundproof heavy sliders, multiple sets of dishes/glasses/silver/cookware, big tv, gas fireplace, inside cleanliness, convenient unloading convenience, one assigned parking space on same level (some units are down a flight of stairs), fresh air flow - overall, just a feeling that owners care long-term. .
Now the negatives: unit is third level up from the beach so we parked beachside a block downhill in a mini-mall. which was easy off-season with a handicap placard but would be nearly impossible with summer crowds. This is a second story in first of two separate buildings, sits on a high bluff above a street with another row of one-story condos below and directly beachside, so access is confusing and not explained in the repetitive and vast information provided.. There was also no explanation of the parking or how to find it (not obvious!) which is off-street in between multiple properties with NO on-street signage. Fortunately our daughter and hubby arrived earlier then we did, found on street parking (a miracle!) and scouted this out. The lack of outside cleanliness was a major disappointment. The balcony was completely unusable due to layer of mildew on the flat wood rail and flooring. The neighboring balconies are a mix of clean vs not, so it is possible to maintain clean surfaces. The front door lock also has layer of mildew atop it - not welcoming and all inexcusable. Beach access on foot would take at least 20 minutes up/down a steep hill. We were lucky to find beach-level parking as our grandson loved hitting the beach daily, even though water was very cold and days were windy (dress accordingly!). DR table overhead fixture either missing bulbs or needs an update, and sadly only one of four possible barstools are supplied. A strange contrast with the expensive windows, sliders, furniture, carpet and tile throughout.
I hope this review helps you decide whether this is the right place for your precious vacation dollars. We had a great time but this may be better-suited for the view and relative quiet, not for easy beach access with young kids.

Thank you for staying with us at Shore del Mar I. We are glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. The unit is in a 2 story building and is on the cliff overlooking the ocean. This unit is on the top level and you walk staight into the unit. The 3 story complex is on the street side. Parking for 1 car is provided just 3 spaces from the front door, and map is provided when paperwork is sent, we are sorry you did not see this as it is clearly marked. Guests are to park on the street. You are a block from the beach and yes it is going down/up a hill but should only take 10 minutes at the most depending on how fast you can walk. Aptos beach is a great beach for families and yes during the off season can get colder, unfortunately. We will try and get better light bulbs for over the DR table.

Awesome View and Location
Stunning view from all glass ocean view wall with deck. Great location on long public beach. Restaurants walking distance. Grocery nearby. Property is older but well maintained and furnished. Property management firm makes you drive to next town to pick up keys and then return them when leaving. There was one small bar of soap for two bathrooms, so bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. Played phone tag with management firm about signing contract.

The location of this condo relative to the beach is outstanding. Easy access to the beach, lovely view and nicely maintained.
The sound of the ocean through the double sliding doors was heavenly and we were all comfortable in the accommodations.

Glorious Wall of Windows
The outstanding feature of this condo is its wall of living room windows overlooking the ocean. We are from the Arizona desert, and there is nothing more welcome than an ocean view, the cool sea breeze, and the sound of the surf. This place has those things in spades. It is clean, and has many amenities. Aptos is a lovely beach community. A couple of things are less than perfect: the beach takes a little walk or drive to get to, there are no screens to keep out bugs when you leave the doors open, and the back railing needs paint. But these are trivial. The view is so gorgeous you are practically at the beach while inside the living room. We left the doors open a bit to hear the sound of the waves, and there were almost no bugs. And we drove down to the beach and easily found parking. Those who are in better shape would find it nothing to walk. The management company was great, although you have to go to them to get the keys, which is a bit less convenient than them meeting you at the unit. No big deal. They were very nice. All in all, the only bad thing about this place is that we had to leave it and go back to the burning desert. :-(
