Unlike larger corporate management companies, Mammoth Five Star Lodging has always been a boutique operation, with Megan personally involved in every aspect of the business—from owner relationships to guest reservations—ensuring every stay reflects the highest standards of care and attention to detail.

Megan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and brings an extensive background in hospitality management, sales, and marketing. Her expertise has also led her to serve as a consultant for other resort management companies, helping elevate hospitality standards throughout the industry.

In 2026, the Oepkes family joined Megan as partners in Mammoth Five Star Lodging, bringing years of hospitality experience serving guests throughout the Eastern Sierra. Together, they share a common vision: offering premier short-term vacation rentals complemented by personalized, attentive service that consistently exceeds expectations.

Originally from Carlsbad, California, the Oepkes family has been vacationing in Mammoth Lakes for more than 50 years, spanning three generations. In addition to their extensive hospitality experience in the Eastern Sierra, the family has successfully managed hospitality operations in both Hawaii and Texas. In Hawaii, they provided full-service short-term vacation rental management for a portfolio of 25 properties, overseeing every aspect of the guest and homeowner experience. In Texas, the family owns and operates a 182-room full-service Holiday Inn, bringing extensive experience in hotel operations, guest services, and hospitality management. Their deep connection to Mammoth has grown from decades of family traditions into a passion for helping others experience everything the Eastern Sierra has to offer. Dedicated to delivering the highest level of service, the Oepkes family strives to provide every guest with an unforgettable lodging experience, treating each stay with the same care and attention they would want for their own family.
