Casa de Olas is a 3 bedroom/3.5 bath villa located within Hacienda Pinilla, a 4500-acre gated community with 5km of coastline just 15 minutes from world-famous Playa Tamarindo.

Within this luxury community, you’ll find multiple world-class surf spots, an 18-hole golf course, 40km of mountain bike trails offering high end bike rentals, equestrian center with horseback riding, 2 full-sized tennis courts, pickleball, a medical clinic, and endless hiking & beachcombing opportunities.

Guests have full access privileges to an exclusive oceanside Beach Club complete with an indoor gym, infinity pool, spa, full-service restaurant, and poolside tiki bar and grill (daily access fee is $10 p/p and is $5 consumable!).

Our guests can also visit the luxurious JW Marriott with 5 unique restaurants and the largest pool in Central America. Many other local dining options exist in nearby Avellanas (10 minutes away), Playa Negra (20 mins) or Tamarindo (20 mins). The community is full of monkeys, deer, tropical birds, iguanas and other wildlife that give you the true essence of Costa Rica.

The Liberia International Airport (LIR) is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away.

Being a corner unit there is always natural light. The 1st floor is an open floor plan with living room, dining area with exotic wood table with seating for 10, fully equipped kitchen for cooking at home or having a chef come in and cook for you. Glass window pane doors that lead to terrace with 2 outdoor dining tables, hammock, gas grill, and garden views. On this level you will also find 1st guest bedroom with king size bed, en-suite bathroom and dresser, And a designated work desk and chair.

The second floor has a very spacious and comfy family room with TV, 2nd guest bedroom with 1 queen bed and twin size bunk beds and en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom, and glass doors that lead to 2nd floor balcony.

High-speed WiFi, HD cable and smart television and central air conditioning for complete comfort at all times.

Perfect Villa

This villa was perfect. It is in a quiet neighborhood, close to beach, close to hotel and other properties in Pinilla. Having a golf cart or rental car makes things easier to get around but this was a great villa for friends to enjoy and be able to go to the beach / beach club etc! Would definitely rent this villa again.

Great Vacation Home in Costa Rica

We loved our stay at this property. So close to pool, not too far from beach. Very clean, very comfortable and spacious. Wonderful outdoor space. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cuttlery, serving dishes etc. Brenda, the house manager was amazing and very responsive. We will be back!

Amazing location

I have stayed in the area many times and love vacationing here. This condo was really nicely decorated and very spacious. The beds are comfortable, the air conditioning worked great and I had everything I needed to cook. It was just myself and my 14yr old son this trip and I felt completely safe. We spent our days at the beach club and enjoyed surfing, the pool, and had a massage. We even saw Howler monkey’s from our patio! Thank you Collin for your hospitality, we will return.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not what I expected. For the amount of money we paid the house should of had everything. Lots of items missing. Stove did not function well, fridge ice dispenser did not work. Over priced for what we got.

How and why this review was made is a total mystery and surprise to us. We have a full service team and we always follow up with our guests after the check-in to see if everything is alright. Adriana did this with this guest and no issues were stated. This guest never took this opportunity to communicate anything was wrong to us. His only communication to us was to ask about how to take out the trash, the cleaning schedule and if he could have an early check-in, which we accommodated. It seems odd that all of these issues existed and none were reported. We have maintenance people at the ready 7 days a week for problems like a faulty stove or an ice dispenser. The issues claimed were not reported and mysteriously did not exist when the next occupants checked in. We never heard of any of this until the review was posted. Additionally the home is well appointed and all items were purchased new recently. I can't imagine what was missing and it would have been nice to hear what specific items were lacking. If something was lacking we would have made sure to provide it. Finally his protest on price is interesting. This is a large 3 bedroom condominium with brand new furnishings just a few steps away from the JW Marriott where the nightly rate for 1 room exceeds what this guest was paying. There are many other properties for rent in this neighborhood and we think this home is one of the nicest and most competitively priced. We have a series of 5 star ratings from our other customers and we work hard to make that happen. I suppose it is true that you can't make everyone happy. I hope others reading this review will consider that it might not be a fair or even legitimate report on the home or our company.

Family Beach Vacation with pools and surfing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Three generations of our family stayed at #25 Hacienda Pinilla for a week. We had a great time! The house has three very large bedrooms each with their own large bathroom and also a ½ bath down stairs. There was plenty of room so everyone had some privacy. The bedding and towels and the lovely decorations made it feel like a 5-star hotel. The kitchen and amazing dining rom table handled all of us easily. The grandparents were very happy with the air conditioning that kept the house cool. Also, the large swimming pool two minutes away was a treat. The water was warm enough so you could walk right in and still cool off. Because no one else was at the pool each day the grandparents who are birders saw over 30 birds there that they had never seen before. The younger generations went to the Beach Club and enjoyed the food and the other guests they met there. The surfing relatives loved the waves and the warm ocean water. It was a wonderful week and our memories of Hacienda Pinilla will always be treasured.

Very comfortable and clean

Very comfortable and clean, ample towels. Easy walking distance to beautiful shared pool. Having a washer/dryer was a lifesaver for us. We enjoyed our stay very much! (temp control knob in downstairs shower was broken, so no hot water in one shower)

Our group loved the house and property.

This is a beautiful house with everything we needed. Comfortable and elegant furniture, four bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen and dining area. The beach is super close and the pool is almost next to the house. Hacienda Pinilla is a lovely property - well maintained and quiet. We will be back!

Perfect family holiday destination

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The property was spacious, clean and well laid out for our family of five. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my third vacation in Hacienda Pinilla over the past 3 years, and thus far, this was the nicest unit I’ve stayed in to date. Although the floor plan is identical to the last 2 places I’ve stayed, Casa de Olas appeared to be recently updated and had the nicest appointments, decor, and furnishings. The place was impeccably clean and had very comfy beds, nice linens/towels, etc...this was a real plus for me. This was a week-long surf trip with the guys, but will definitely rent here again with the wife and kiddos. Super convenient to the Beach Club (awesome pool, restaurant/bar for lunch, and easy access to quality surf at Little Hawaii or the rivermouth), great dining choices at the nearby JW Marriott, and a really nice golf course to boot. This was the first time I’ve golfed here, but definitely won’t be the last! Already looking forward to a return trip to Casa de Olas in 2019!!!

She set up several excursions and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The house was spotlessly clean and very nice. It was equipped with everything we needed from cooking utensils to beach towels. The only negative we found was the master bedroom mattress was less than comfortable. It sagged in the middle. Two people sleeping together roll towards the middle all night. Overall, we had a great experience with this rental and would return ourselves and recommend it to others.

The Villa was spotless, the guards and cleaning staff courteous, and attentive. Beach club and JW Marriott right next door are both fun. Tamarindo is a short drive away where all necessities are close by. The pool right next to the house was nearly empty and our kids had a blast! We saw tons of animals - a sea turtle, monkeys, deer, cattle, horses, iguanas, green parrots, and many more! For me personally the best is the surf. So many breaks and so close - you have access to Grande, Negra, and all of Avellanas and Langosta and Tamarindo river mouth - such great waves! And it was 5-8 while we were there. The flight into Liberia is easy and the drive less then 90 mins. Basically it's simple - GO HERE!

Our villa was stocked with the groceries we ordered in advance and the stay tamiarindo team was incredibly accommodating throughout our stay! We traveled with our toddler and infant and were very happy with how secure and safe the area was. Location was perfect - recommend getting a golf cart

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a beyond great experience at this property. Upon arrival, we opened the doors to find the living spaces, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms to all be very handsomely appointed. The pictures on HomeAway provide an accurate depiction of the villa, we found the place to be in same or better condition as shown in the photos. The furnishings were all modern, very clean and comfortable. The bedroom arrangements were very flexible; with a bathroom in each room, getting cleaned up after a day at the beach or in the surf was a breeze. No waiting for a shower to open up to rinse off and start the next activities. The beds were very comfortable, the mattresses new and the bedsheets of high quality. If you choose to cook in, which we did some of the nights, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils needed for meal prep and eating. With dishwasher, clean up wasn’t a chore. The common spaces had ample seating, which were comfortable and inviting; we had a great time recounting the adventures of the day hanging out on the couches and chairs in the living room. The outside spaces offer a variety of ways to relax as well. On the upstairs veranda, chairs and lounges made for good reading or conversation space. Downstairs, the outdoor patio offered a grill, al fresco dining, and a large hammock if the urge struck for a siesta. Overall, the living space was beyond expectation. The property also offered a lot of amenities. There is a very nice pool adjacent to the villa. This pool provided convenient access to a relaxing setting. You could eitWe had a beyond great experience at this property. Upon arrival, we opened the doors to find a the rooms, living space, and kitchen to all be very handsomely appointed. The furnishings were all modern, very clean and comfortable. The bedroom arrangments were very flexible, and with a bathroom in each room, getting cleaned up after a day at the beach was a breeze. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We visited Hacienda Panilla with a group of 5 guys for a surf week at Avellanas and Langosta. The condo was perfect for our group, with flexible sleeping arrangements so everyone had their own bed. Having three suites with their own bathrooms also was a bonus. The decor, art, bedding, towels, and overall comfort level of the unit was exceptional. Definitely a great deal, and the waves were great all week. We ended up cooking almost everynight, and the kitchen was well appointed. We used the pool that is right next to the unit for lounging in between surf sessions and it was very private and relaxing. A few of us used the gym and that was a nice to have. We also really enjoyed the beach club (for drinks, appetizers, and a few meals). It is right next to Little Hawaii so it is very easy to have some relaxation time and keep an eye on the waves. The drinks and food were reasonable and tasty. It is about a 20 minute drive into tamarindo, and we thought that was about perfect. Hacienda Panilla has a resort quality and the security on property was also an added bonus. We went into town several times for meals, drinks, and hanging out. We also headed south to Lola's several times (great smoothies and fish taco's). Condo had plenty of space for lounging, and the high speed internet was reliable, and we used that a ton. We were able to stream in Netflix at night and just overall had a fantastic experience. We will be back!

Excellent experience in Tamarindo

Reviewer Comments: This condo was even better than it looked in the picture, and the gated community of Hacienda Pinilla was extremely well maintained and just felt like a 5-star operation during our entire stay. With a well furninshed kitchen/dining room (amazing table out of local wood) we enjoyed cooking some meals and spending time in the villa. The recent renovations are apparent, and the attention to detail like the sheets and towels really made us feel like we were treating ourselves. Overall the place had a modern feel in a more traditional Spanish hacienda. Tamarindo is easy to get to, and a lot of our time was spent surfing at avellanas, langosta and tamarindo. The people we met were friendly , the food was amazing, and it is just a beautiful place. We had an excellent experience with the Stay in Tamarindo staff and we definitely plan on going again.
