Looking for an ocean get-a-way to enjoy those painted beach sunrises and salty evening breezes? “Sandy Paws A!” managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate is a multi-level home with sea sights, sounds, and experiences for the whole family. Beach-combing is just a hop and 2 block skip away and sun-seeking is an Ocean BREEZE from one of the homes multiple balconies. Sun, Surf, and "BEACH" await you on your CB adventure!

Your property

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The home lies directly in the middle of the North End of Carolina Beach and is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!

Take the staircase or private elevator to the first floor which boasts a kids room (bedroom #1) with TWO (2) Twin over Twin bunks with a pair of additional trundles sharing a "Jack and Jill" bath (bathroom #1 w/ tub + shower combo) with bedroom #2 with a Queen bed. Master bedroom #1 (bedroom #3) with a King bed and its own Eastward facing private balcony has its own ensuite private bath with a jetted tub and walk-in shower stall (bathroom #2).

Take the elevator up to the next level where Master bedroom (#2) with a King size bed, a private Eastern facing balcony, and ensuite bathroom (#3) with a walk-in shower. ANOTHER master bedroom ( bedroom #4) with a Queen size bed awaits down the hall with Western views and its own private ensuite bathroom (bathroom # 4 w/ shower+tub combo).

Take your personal elevator up to the top floor where a truly remarkable space awaits! A modern kitchen that's furnished with granite counter tops, stainless appliances, and a mini-bar reside amongst other luxurious upgrades. Behind you sits another half bath (Bathroom #5). Back through the hallways sits the family room complete with a fireplace and smart TV for entertaining, along with a final balcony complete with "peek-a-boo" views of the Atlantic!

A few of the amenities provided by your Owners include courtesy large shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, coffee, tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen.

The home's TWO (2) Twin bunk sets with TWO (2) trundles, TWO (2) Queen beds, and TWO (2) King beds consist of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased memory foam/cooling gel mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge!

There are Smart TV's in EVERY bedroom and living room along with a WIFI computer connection (bring your own login info to use for the provided APPS) for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!

Neighborhood description

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

"Salty Paws" sits directly across the street from the ICWW and is under a two block walk to the nearest beach access! The home itself is short ride or long walk from Downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining. Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Rentals @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Guest access

The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private HOME (never shared) along with a respective carport, balconies, yard.

PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (3-4) assigned carport parking spaces (dependent upon vehicle size)!

The YARD: Guests have full access to their private and fully fenced backyard.

•Closest BEACH access: Scotch Bonnet Public Beach Access (Scotch Bonnet Lane).

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute best vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure guests can spend more time enjoying themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella and chair rentals, Hot Ticket Fishing Charters, Salty Dog Yoga, Amy’s Rise N Shine, and Griffin Cleaning and linens.

•Linens (Sheets, bath towels, wash cloths pillowcases, wash cloths, bathmats) ARE included as part of the rental here (excluding beach towels which can be rented through scrubandgo@griffinscleaning dot org. If requiring extra or non-included linens, please reach out to Griffin Cleaning Services who is a partner with SWRE and will assist in any way possible! Please make sure all linens are placed in the basket or hamper before your departure! Please let all BED LINENS on the beds remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! Carolina Beach

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•The home is non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.

•There is a $100 non-refundable pet fee for each approved pup, up to a 3 pup/$300 max. Cats are not allowed on premises.

•April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher allows dogs on leash on the beach 24/7.

Pup rules for Pet Friendly homes

•Pups are NEVER allowed on any furniture. (*Single biggest added charge from the cleaners/owners post stay.)
•Do NOT let your pup bark excessively in any multi-unit environment.
•ALWAYS pick up after your pup IMMEDIATELY after the potty sesh.

Great family house!

We enjoyed our stay at this home at Carolina Beach. We had 10 adults and a toddler. Plenty of beds, baths and seating for everyone. Very convenient walk to the beach & beautiful views of the intercoastal waterway and the ocean. Would highly recommend renting umbrellas and beach chairs from Tony Silvagni’s & have them set up at Scotch Bonnet beach access. House also has some beach toys/supplies such as extra beach chairs (small, not loungers) and corn hole. Plenty of beach towels at the house as well. The beach itself is very family friendly and the boardwalk is not too far away. Overall, a great spot for a family vacation!
