Overlooking the 9th fairway of the Kona Country Club Golf Course, this lovely ocean-view condo is a tropical paradise. The path to the door is lined with lush hibiscus, fragrant ginger, magical monstera, and dozens of other Hawaiian plants. As you walk up the stairs, note how the majestic monkey pod tree creates a frame for the condo.

Open the door and immediately view the endless ocean. Slip off your shoes and feel the cool, floating bamboo floors. Turn on the palm frond ceiling fans and start light breezes flowing. Sink into tropical theme, rattan furniture that provide a unique Tommy Bahama ambiance. Dangerously comfortable, you may need to be coaxed from the pillowed recliner with ottoman. Enjoy cooking on your private gas grill using utensils from the fully stocked kitchen as you marvel at the brilliant red and orange sunsets. Listen closely. You’ll hear someone blowing the conch shell as the sun dips below the horizon. At the end of the day, sleep soundly on a comfortable king-sized bed in the ocean view bedroom. More sleeping for family and friends is available on the queen-sized sofa bed in the living room.

Wake to the sounds of tropical birds, sip your Kona coffee on the lanai, and make plans for all your Big Island activities. This condo is an ideal launching point! Our numerous guidebooks and maps will help you decide. Plan a day of snorkeling at Kahaluu Beach where you will see numerous sea turtles and scores of tropical fish. Visit farmers' markets along Alii Drive for luscious, fresh mangoes, papayas, pineapples and more. Stroll through the waterfront shops at Kona Village and enjoy the nightlife. Then come home to the peace and quiet of your Hawaiian retreat at Keauhou Akahi, where parking is just steps away from your door.

Please note: There is no elevator at this property, about 40 stairs. This unit features a window AC system in the living room to keep you comfortable, while the bedrooms enjoy a refreshing natural ocean breeze.

We had the most amazing time on the Big Island and part of it was due to our amazing stay here! The unit was stocked well, and we loved the coffee sample they gave us so much that we went and bought a full size bag to take home with us! The view was absolutely stunning, and my husband and I were already talking about coming back and staying again. The location was convenient to everything, but quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of town. There is no central AC but you really don’t need it with all the fans, and the ability to open the windows and let the ocean breeze in! Thank you for an incredible stay!

We have stayed at this property twice. We love the view of the ocean and location - far enough out of town to be away from the hustle, but close enough to to get to town quickly. Great for a couple; love spending our time on the lanai! Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Stay

Location is great, a few miles away from the center of Kona. Quiet area for the most part, be aware that the golf course crew starts early. Third floor view is great to see the sunset and just sit and relax. The condo was clean and spacious for us. We recommend and would rent again on a return trip.

Overall nice

Overall the property was nice and clean and well supplied. It was in a good central location as well, in a lovely and safe community. The main issue is if you’re cooking: the pans had the Teflon coating peeling off and I’ve used plastic knives that were actually better than what was provided. There were two newer pans but they were huge and not conducive to everyday cooking.

Paradise Found

This was our first stay in Hawaii. We considered staying in a resort but ended up searching VRBO for their options available during our selected dates. After narrowing our selection to a couple of choices, I spent considerable time reviewing the comments from guests. This property rated very high and the pictures sold us. I will say the property exceeded our expectations in almost every way. The view from the lanai was special and offered us nightly spectacular sunset And a comfortable and peaceful place to have coffee and a meal or two.this place is all you could hope for during your stay in Hawaii.

We arrived to find the condo prepared for us and as described. Being on the top floor of three it can become warm, but for us the several fans and on-shore breeze provided the cooling needed. The lanai was great and we made good use of it. The bed and seating were comfortable.However, I'll mention that one of the four chairs on the lanai was in need of repair to the seat, so hopefully that will be done in time for the next guest's arrival.The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, glasses, and the usual etc. But the utility knives are badly in need of sharpening with a tool that does more serious work than the normal hand-held sharpener that is included in the knife block.We didn't see this mentioned in earlier reviews, so we want to say "thanks" for the presence in the bathrooms of small shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and bar soap.We enjoyed having the geckos with us, both inside and outside.Not much was needed from the CB folks, although one pre-arrival request was acted upon promptly and professionally, and upon departure had a very pleasant brief encounter with the cleaning lady.Yes, we would stay at this condo again.

Paradise on the Third Floor

There is something about the culture and beautiful landscape! Our stay in Kahului-Keauhou was everything we expected and more! Our condo on the third floor was beautiful! The lanai overlooked the golf course and ocean! We spent each morning watching golfers,/boats and drinking coffee. The Condo had a Polynesian vibe, warm and welcoming! Bed was beyond comfortable, kitchen well stocked, comfortable living room area! It was centrally located to travel the Kona Coast line! We will be back to share in this beautiful space!

The property is a little worn but comfortable with the exception of the deck lounges which are broken and uncomfortable. The kitchen utensils/pans are past their prime. The knives need sharpening. The master bath fan is very noisy.

Beautiful place, wonderful amenities! Just be aware, the place does not have any AC (it is listed as no central air, but be aware there is no ac unit whatsoever). Also, the property has very strict rules, and some residents were very unfriendly towards us over them. On our first night moving in, we had a neighbor yell at us for rolling our luggage in because we were being too loud. We additionally were given notes from the property about not being able to have a phone call on our lanai and backing in to the parking spot in which they threatened to contact our property manager. Overall, this place was beautiful, very clean, and had many things that helped our vacation go smoothly (coolers, chairs, towels, etc). We absolutely loved the place itself. However, the strictness of the rules and the unfriendliness of neighbors made us feel very unwelcome as paying guests.

Over-all, a great stay with helpful agent

Everything about the accommodations, location, etc. was excellent and we would return in the future. Other guest reviews mentioned that climbing the stairs to the third floor was a bit taxing, especially carrying luggage, groceries, etc. Having our backpacks with us made it a bit easier for the latter. There's a total of 28 steps to climb. Be sure you can handle that 2 or 3 times a day. We experienced some confusion checking in after dark. As in the past our GPS software could not figure out the Hawaiian addressing format and will took us to a ficticious location. The complex is just around a sharp curve. The sign is obscured by vegetation until you are about to pass it and not well lit. We spent a lot of time wondering around in the dark trying to find it. The rental agent returned our call for help just a few minutes after we placed it. This was midnight. She walked us through finding it. That's service! The printed verbal instructions for finding the place could have been more clearly written. A street map to the driveway off Alii Drive would have helped immensely. Finally, on the VBRO website, the 3/4 view, wide angle image of the living area can be misleading. The far wall is a top-to-bottom, side-to-side mirror, which gave us the impression the space is twice as big as it really is. I can't say whether this was intentionally misleading. This image should be deleted. The living room is spacious enough for two - maybe too small for four with couch open into a bed.

Make yourself comfortable in Kona at this condo

We love this small condo complex in Kona. This unit was our first time staying on the 3rd floor. The views, looking out on the fairways of Kona golf club and onto the ocean were so much better on the 3rd floor. You’ll love the “island” decor. So comfortable. Don’t hesitate to book this condo.

Incredible views, Great Workout

We enjoyed this unit for 19 days in a seasonally unusual heat wave. The heat was uncomfortable but all else was great! Kitchen was well stocked, bathroom shower was really nice and the lanai made for pleasant sunsets! If you have mobility issues this is not for you, read property description carefully. Third floor view is beautiful and worth the climb! If you have difficulty the property management company is responsive.

We spent very good vacation

Perfect Home-Away-From-Home in Paradise!

The unit was spotless and comfortable, with all the basic amenities needed to make ourselves feel right at home. Perfectly located for all our Big Island adventures! We are already planning our next visit and will definitely rebook here if it's available!!

Aloha, thank you for your feedback. We are glad that our team could get the bugs issue sorted out. During the summer months bugs can be hard to control in Hawaii. While the HOA sprays frequently, leaving doors and windows open will allow them in. We understand the breezes are important and it's a balancing act. We appreciate your understanding on this.
