Jenny, we so much appreciate your taking the time to review your stay at Haiku. We are glad that you enjoyed the privacy, the open-air atmosphere, our well-equipped home, and of course the backup generator. We are sorry that you experienced an island-wide power outage, but we installed the full-house generator to minimize such inconveniences for our guests. As for the spa temperature, our maintenance person is checking it out for a possible temperature controller malfunction; thanks for letting us know of this matter. Dear Mahalia, Our family is delighted that your family enjoyed your stay at Haiku and that the "pool time" worked out so well for your children. Yes, there are times when the insects tend to be more interested in us humans, which can occur if the tradewinds die down in late afternoon/early evening, around dusk. We use the fans and insect repellent especially during these situations. It's part of island life, I admit. But overall we love St. John and everything it has to offer.
