Joe was very responsive to our needs and the location was beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the neighbors in the unit next door were friendly and the pool was warm when it was warm enough to use it.

Beautiful Views, Restaurants Very Close

Boat Ramp only 1.5 miles away. Diving Sombrero is a short boat ride. No long canal rides, directly on the water. Walked to dinner many times. Close to everything.

First visit to the Keys

The property worked out wonderfully for our trip. The view of the gulf and sunsets were fantastic. The surrounding area that this property is located in could use improvements, but the duplex itself was exactly as described.

For those reading the review the area this home is in is in a section called old Marathon so there are more of the commercial fisherman on our end but this is part of the character of the Keys. I prefer it personally because it's very quiet with very few neighbors and it's easy access to the ocean side. plus the views are incredible.

Perfect Location

My wife and I have stayed at this property previously and can't wait until we go back. The location for sitting on the porch or dock and relaxing is perfect. In my mind this house is everything a Keys vacation should have and delievers every time. You will have many lasting memories at this house for years to come.

Stellar Location!

This is our favorite location of all the places we've stayed in the Keys! Although this property (condo) is aging, it still has great features like the pool with a view, kayaks, bikes, and it sits on the Gulf. For awareness, there are multiple other condo buildings newly built immediately around this property now (they may not be in the photos), so the privacy is not what it once was. Overall, great place to stay! Owners and management team are super responsive!

Terrific stay in Marathon

This property is wonderful. It exceeded our expectations. Amazing views, plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. Had paddle board, kayak. You could fish right from the dock. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking family meals . Plenty of restaurants nearby if you don’t want to cook. Sombrero beach was 5 min away. Great family vacation!

Fell short

The location and the actual property were great. However, the house was definitely lacking in things we felt a week long minimum rental should have. For example, there were only five wash clothes in the house, two trash bags, 1 towel/person etc. it just didn’t feel like enough every day items for the host to have for a rental intended for 6+ people for a week or more. Also. There were only 5 dining chairs. It was weird.

Thank you for staying with us. Happy to hear that you enjoyed the home and location. In the welcome letter we stress to guests to reach out to us if anything isn't in order at check-in. We also post this notice in the kitchen. The additional towels/wash cloths for the home are stored under the sink cabinets. We would have been more than happy to bring more by for your stay. On the chair: we had a chair in the set break recently. We'll be updating all the living room furniture in next month when our rental season slows down.

Needs extensive updating

First ill say its a great location and view. That's really the inly thing it has going for it. Its run down like an old college apartment. Everything in the unit is extremely cheap. Almost no kitchen items you woukd expect. Missing or broken furnature. (Dining table missing chair, almost all the bedroom furniture is broken) Carpet is way beyond needing replaced. No stoppers in any tubs shower heads and faucets that hardley worked. 1 TV worked. Outdoor furniture was a joke and looked like it was pulled from a dumpster. Honestly the more you look the worse it got. I wish i could post pictures. Botton line this owner is nice but put no effort into maintaining the home.

A reviewer can write anything they want with no repercussion and no identity “Dan R”. It’s so easy just to hide behind a keyboard and trash a property when you have an axe to grind about something completely unrelated. My only hope is that anyone reading the review will read my response, look at the other reviews and pictures of the home and make an intelligent assessment. Dan R states that he wishes he could post pictures, The pictures are in the ad and they're recent. Does this look like a “college dorm” If this were true then why are 50% of our bookings repeat customers with close to a dozen customers that return annually for the past decade plus? Here’s a bit of background on Dan R’s stay. Day2: customer called about not being able to open a door to the patio. Guest had triggered the hurricane lock on the door and jammed it. These special deadbolts are clearly mark “do not use, hurricane only”. They forced the door to the point that I had to have a locksmith. Day4: Customer calls property manager at 7AM yelling that they were woken up by a delivery fork truck on a neighboring property. They then sent me a text stating that we should have warned them. I called the customer later that morning and he yelled about the prior lock incident (that they caused) and that I should have disclosed possible noise. On the statements in his review. Kitchen: we include everything needed for an extended stay. Besides the normal stuff including the following: blender, lobster pot, mixing bowls, measuring devices, knife sharpener, fillet knife. Ample glasses, pool & coffee cups. Places settings all white Correlle. Bedroom furniture is not broken. All I can think is that he’s referring to an added platform we put under all of our beds, in all 4 of our homes. Not sure why he’s looking under the bed. There is new polywood chaise loungers and main patio set is solid wood both only a year old, There’s an older functioning table on the pool level with two chairs – there was one missing kitchen chair we took out to repair - you got me Dan R. We’ve been booked solid for months and you’re the first to say that the shower heads don’t work and the carpet needed to be replaced – I stayed in the home with my family two weeks prior so I know both are untrue. TVs are all Roku enabled, maybe the remotes were mixed up

Great waterfront getaway for daily sunsets and a quick trip to everything in the Keys.

Such great Gulf views!!! Property was as described and comfy for the 4 of us. Kitchen had pretty much everything we needed for the week - and with COVID we decided to make the most of eating in during our trip -Grocery stores are just a few miles down the road. Each room essentially has its own bathroom and beds were reasonably comfortable. For entertainment they have 3 bicycles, a paddle board, and a sea kayak for two. We used all of them. There is a small pool which was rather warm but when it was real hot out it felt good to hop into. You can also just jump into the water off the dock and snorkel around if you like. I fished for a bit and you can catch snapper right from the dock - they were mostly undersized but was fun to kill some time. If you have a boat its a great location to jump off into the gulf or the Atlantic since the 7 mile bridge is very close. Overall it was really great - people were easy to work with. Location is nice with Key West being an hour drive, and there are a few public beaches and State parks reasonably close. The only point to take note of is the other half of this property is a rental as well, and the patio separation and privacy between the two is really non existent. We were fortunate that the family staying next to us were out on their boat all day long and were only there in the evenings so we had the place to ourselves. Overall I give it an A and we would stay there again!

Lovely Stay

Overall we were satisfied with our stay Joe was super easy to contact. Answered all our questions, promptly. Referred us to property manager as needed. The house was nice. Clean. Tidy. Decorated. Stocked. There was a house being built next door and the week we were there they were doing a lot of outside, loud, digging, retaining wall, pool work. Which was annoying considering we are in the construction field, but we made the best of it. Joe was more than apologetic and it definitely was not his fault and we completely understood. I would check with him on the house project before booking. But as I stated, seemed most of the loud outside stuff was done last week. Pool is much smaller than the pictures look. It suited our 4 yr old grandson perfectly with 1-2 adults in the water with him. Our 3 young adult girls didn't seem to mind in their midnight swims. It just is not your standard size pool. But it was nice, did the job and was cleaned once while we were there. Kitchen could use a few more cooking items (pans in particular) & some plastic cups for young travelers. Don't over stock the fridge right away, if you do, like we did, dont freak out when it takes forever to cool down as it is an energy efficient fridge. Plenty of sleeping arrangements including fold away beds & a playpen. We brought extra bath towels as 5 of our 7 guest were girls :) convenient to everything. Upper keys, lower keys, grocery store, entertainment & tourist stuff. We would visit again!

We were sent to the wrong address and ended with a storm. The property was great, the inside was just as listed, the outside pictures are very deceiving as there are four new buildings actively being built, three on one side and one on the other, that we were not told about. The pounding, sawing, machinery, and men talking was not very relaxing. Joe was nice and apologized and we were offered another condo, however, the replacement offered only had two beds for six adults. It was kind of a bad versus bad situation so why add moving to it. Having the construction site so close the workers watched us while you ate on the deck, swam, or just sat out we had to pick up nails and wood pieces plus being woke up 4 out of the 7 mornings at 7:30 am to pounding and one morning before 6:30 am with a Bobcat running. The driveway was blocked twice, water off one day (caused by construction) and power out another (not from construction). We did have problems with supplies and the pool did not heat, that was fixed but all of this took time to get done. Overall, I loved the location, wished there had been more sun and less wind and no construction. We did try to keep busy and away from the condo during the construction hours, but a vacation is a time to rest, relax and enjoy family not to have to worry about schedules. As I said Joe was nice and did give us a credit, but the listing is still not accurate. All in all we would stay again preferably with no construction.

Unfortunately, much of what’s in the review is accurate. These homes quickly went up during the off-season. The only good news is that the exterior structures of the new homes are now completed so the mess and noise has dissipated.. During their stay the majority of the noise and mess was the water company relocating lines. We didn’t get notice from the City that they’d be doing this work. I did offer to move the guest as they mentioned but ultimately ended up providing a partial refund for the inconvenience. It didn’t help that weather was not great that week either. Our home still has great open Gulf views and is located in a more remote and quiet area of Marathon. The additional 4 houses should not impact the beauty or the popularity of this property. At some point we’ll shoot some new drone photos.

Perfect location

Property and home were wonderful!!! This is the perfect location for boat rentals and the best sunset views. House was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Great property manager!!!

Marathon Gulf House

Outdoor furniture needs an update

Location was fantastic, enjoyed the ocean & all the activity, boats, birds, sunsets etc…

Great week in Marathon!

We had a wonderful stay! Pictures are exactly what you will see when you get there- that view is what sold us on the place. Owners were very responsive to questions beforehand and we didn’t have any issues while there, so we didn’t need to contact them. We rented a boat and were able to tie it right there, which was amazing. My fisherman husband loved the bait freezer and being able to fish right there off the back. We rode bikes a few times to local restaurants. I miss sitting out in the deck and enjoying that view with my morning coffee. Lots of space and great location!

Great location!

We stayed here 5 years ago and wanted to bring our son back. We booked this for the back part of the property. We were able to fish on our own private dock. Pool was heated as it was still cold out. House needs some updating but didn’t bother us at all. It was clean and had everything we needed. Perfect week!

Week in Marathon

Good location, with easy access to water and attractions. The house is functional but has dated interior and gross carpets and dingy walls. Kitchen is very small. The pool was overdue for a cleaning when we arrived. The dock is nice with 3-4’ of water below the slip. Several pilings and a cleat were missing on the dock which makes tying a bit up challenging depending on the length. The slip gets pretty rough if there is a north wind.

Amazing view and location

My husband and I spent a week here and we were absolutely amazed at the view from this house. Unobstructed panoramic view of the bay. We scheduled our dinners around being able to get back for the sunset or leave after as it is the best sunset view in Marathon. Most nights we grilled and ate in because we didn’t want to miss any of the beauty. We also rented a boat and the location was perfect - right on the bay and around h corner from the ocean. Lots of wildlife right off the pier. Manatees, nurse sharks and tons of fish. They have poles to fish right off the pier and there’s a freezer for bait as well. The pool was a perfect ending to a day out on the boat. We will be returning with friends for sure.

This is just a very relaxing home with incredible view in a quiet location with the best view you could ask for. Boat, kayak, fish, snorkel or dive right from the patio. Walking distance to two of my favorite restaurant/bars - The Sunset Grille and Lazy Days. Choice to relax by the private pool or run the 7-Mile bridge. It has something for every family members desires.
