Key Largo Waterfront Paradise

Let's start by saying we appreciate every one of our guests. Myself and my family have been in the restaurant business our whole life and understand hospitality along with customer satisfaction. We are not just renting an investment property to flip, like so many others. This property was built new from the ground up with its sole purpose of running a legal and licensed vacation rental. We take pride in our property and are constantly looking for ways to improve or update it. I am personally on the property at all times, running my 2 restaurants on the neighboring south side. There is a lot of inaccurate or misleading information in the review. Our property is a private property which makes the swimming pool private. The pool is not shared. When one home is rented, the other comes offline, so as to not share. You can rent 1 or both, but they are never rented at the same time to different parties. There were no other guests on the property to feel as if the pool was shared. The day before arrival, I was messaged if the pool was heated, not at the time of rental. Pools in South Florida, as a whole, are not heated. Upon the first day, I was messaged that the water was too cold to swim in and because of the weather, there was not much to do. Not sure how to respond, I messaged back through VRBO immediately with suggestions of bike rentals, kayak rentals and sights to see. I wish I could control the weather. I could not have been more responsive. VRBO messaging takes a few minutes for the message to arrive. In your booking confirmation, my direct cell phone was included and preferred for communication which was not used until later in the stay. For the light bulbs, we were never informed before your stay, by previous guests, that lighting was an issue. Taking your word, I immediately ordered the right temperature LED light bulbs on Amazon. It took 3 days for the bulbs to arrive, which was your departure date. We are in Key Largo, it is actually difficult to find everything you need in a small town. If I ran to Kmart and bought new bulbs, you would have had the same issue. I explained in a message that the current bulbs were 2700k (Warm White). Per your message, I ordered 4000k (Cool White) LED bulbs. 27 bulbs were needed to do the changeout you requested. There are not 27 of the same kind of bulbs anywhere in Key Largo. Now that the bulbs have been changed, it has made a difference for the better and wish that was the case during your stay. Our units are permitted and licensed as 2 story, 5 bedroom homes. This is what Monroe County dictates through building and zoning regulations. We have no choice and are not misleading in any way. If we rent or advertise in any other way, we will be in violation of Monroe County code. All photos were taken by a professional photographer who was left to her own for the photographs. There was no intentional misleading of any kind. This particular rental is one we wish we did not make. We discounted the rate and shortened the normal 1 week period. I was messaged that they paid $4000 for the time they spent, when the rental was actually $2500 (plus fees) for a 5 bedroom home, directly on Florida Bay with a swimming pool. Plus all the extra steps we are taking for COVID and our COVID checklist we leave for our guests without raising rates or cleaning fees. Our 10-year history, with new construction, on VRBO was stellar until this rental. Taking this review was not worth the rental. The past reviews speak for themself. They are unsolicited reviews by actual guests and how they felt about their stay and the property. We have 2 listings on VRBO, for either 1 home or the whole property. Both have excellent reviews except for this particular one.
