DAS HAUS
Casa La Carbonera ist ein fantastisches Kolonialhaus in der Calle de la Carbonera, direkt im historischen Zentrum von Cartagena! - Das Haus beinhaltet unser Zimmermädchen und Küchenchef für ein Full-Service-Erlebnis.

Das Haus hat eine Gesamtfläche von 300 Quadratmetern, verteilt auf drei Etagen. Im Erdgeschoss finden Sie eine geräumige Lounge mit einem Halbflügel, wo Sie mit der Familie oder mit Freunden herrliche Soirées genießen können. Das Esszimmer und die Küche sind in den Poolbereich integriert.

Der große Essbereich bietet Platz für mehr als acht Personen. Die Küche ist mit hochwertigen Haushaltsgeräten ausgestattet und bietet alles, was unser Küchenchef benötigt, um zuerst, mittags oder abends, eine fantastische Pause vorzubereiten.

Das Haus hat auch eine Chill-out-Terrasse mit Mini-Whirlpool und spektakulärer Aussicht, wo wir auch unsere berühmten romantischen Abendessen mit Live-Gitarrenmusik arrangieren.

Sie können das ganze Haus mieten oder Zimmer buchen; In jedem Fall genießen Sie ein exklusives Traumhaus.



Die Schlafzimmer:
Diese sind groß und einladend und verfügen alle über eine Klimaanlage, ein eigenes Bad mit heißem Wasser und einen Fernseher. Die Bettwäsche und Handtücher sind von höchster Qualität. Wir haben drei Schlafzimmer (zwei Doppel- und ein Dreibettzimmer), in denen alle Betten Doppelbetten sind. Sie können zwischen einem Super King-, einem King- oder einem Standard Double-Bett sowie einem Einzelbett im Dreibettzimmer wählen (je nach Verfügbarkeit).

This is an ideal place to stay in Cartagena. The house is so beautiful and interesting, it’s like staying in a museum. The dining room is al fresco which is really neat but every other room has very good air conditioning. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of hot water. There were two unbelievably nice housekeepers on staff there and they attend to anything you need. Alicia is a great cook, we had her Cartagena style meat with dark sauce and it was the best thing we ate the whole trip. She charged us only for the groceries plus a small extra for her time. Well worth it. Our kids went crazy over her spaghetti. If you are hesitant about going to Cartagena stay here because the housekeepers will take care of you and help you get around. Very centrally located in the walled city.

Perfect place in the Old City

My wife and I, along with another couple and a friend, stayed here for 3 nights for a friends wedding. Carlos was such a great host and the place was absolutely perfect for us. The first floor is great to hang out, have breakfast, lounge in the pool. The bedrooms are big and everyone had their own bathroom. The rooftop was fantastic for the nights with the breeze coming off the sea. Everything is within 15 mins walk. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Best place to stay in the Walled City!

Casa Carbonera was even better than the pictures and the description conveyed. Charming, clean, well decorated and best location! It’s located in San Diego which is centrally located in the Walled City but on a quiet street away from the party fray and you can walk everywhere. Two families stayed at Casa Carbonera with 4 adults and three kids (ages 13, 13, 10) and it was perfect. Alicia, Judy and Carlos were awesome and breakfast was delish. Gracias por todo!

Timeless Charm in Cartagena

I recently had a group stay in this beauty I like to call *Timeless Charm* in Cartagena, and from start to finish, everything was wonderful. The owner/property manager was incredibly responsive, and the staff was fantastic. I absolutely loved Carlos—though he didn’t speak a word of English, but he always got the job done! We used translators to communicate, and it worked perfectly. Everything I needed help with, he was there for. I would definitely book this property again!

Highly Recommend!

This house was absolutely stunning & the pictures really don't do the house justice. I went with 6 of my friends and we absolutely loved the house. The house was very clean, in a prime location with everything walking distance and we all felt super safe. The staff was incredible as well, huge thank you to Carlos, Alicia & Andrea. They exceeded our expectations and provided us with anything we needed - recommendations, incredible breakfast, transportation and really just anything we needed. They made us feel welcomed and at home. Can't recommend this house enough, will be staying here again next time we visit Cartagena!

Carbonera is beautiful but has damage, we can’t use the top floor and master bedroom it was some liquid issues(broken pibes) on general the stuff was the only reason that we stay, they were always on the top with everything.

Hi Irma, so sorry and surprised to read your review. You arrived during the heavy storms that brought about Hurricane Ian. We told you that water had seeped into the terrace and one of the rooms was leaking. This happened right the day before your arrival and you decided to come anyway and since we didn't want to leave you homeless we let you stay. You were grateful. You had a birthday party and for the inconvenience we decorated the house and baked a cake all for free. At all times we were checking on you on WhatsApp, asking how you were doing and we were giving you things because we took several workers to fix the leak and they couldn't fix it until everything was dry. Because of the inconvenience we decided to reimburse you one night and you were delighted. The leak was in one of the rooms and it was on the floor, you could use the room and we understand it was not nice to have the leak. We were always worrying about you and you were always very grateful that's why we do not understand this review and less after having so many details with you, giving you refunds and letting you stay when we should have canceled the reservation. We apologised many times but the leak was not an issue we could forsee and the heavy rain didn't allow us to fix it at that very time. Since you were so grateful we had the feeling you were ok. It's a pity that you didn't let us know your disappointment because we could have had the chance to do something else for you. Now we have been working in the terrace and fixing the leak so please feel free to come back and fully enjoy the house

Beautiful house, welcoming staff and great location

We had a great time staying in this house. I highly recommend this property. Ms Alicia and Carlos are so helpful and nice. They make our trip easier. I loved having breakfast served every morning. The pool is perfect for the hot afternoons. The rooftop is beautiful! Great for late afternoon drinks or watching the sunset. The house is in great shape, but you can see signs of use in the white walls and in the living room from the AC. I hope there is no damage in the walls. I didn’t know when I booked the property that there were two cats in the house. We love cats, so it wasn’t an issue for us, my son loved playing with them, but I know some people won’t like that. The location is great, everything is walking distance. I hope to go back one day.

Extraordinary charming house ,perfect location with Pool and rooftop ,Live in staff,felt SAFE

What a wonderful experience! This house exceeded our expectations. Location was amazing while being centrally located and within walking distance to many fabulous restaurants and shops. The street was off the beaten path from traffic,so it was much quieter than many streets in the neighborhood. The house itself is extremely clean,comfortable,charming and decorated with the most adorable decor .It felt very spacious and we were able to relax comfortably. The pool was a bonus too. We loved going in it in the late afternoons and in the evening after dinner. Rooftop was beautiful ,And a great place to relax with a bottle of wine or just to read a book during the sunny afternoon if you could handle the heat :-) The staff running the house Sondra and Carlos were fantastic. So giving, kind and thoughtful. Plus they were great cooks, and our breakfast each morning was beautifully laid out with fruits, yogurt shakes, pancakes, eggs, etc. We looked forward to it every morning. They also provided daily housekeeping and did laundry by request .The bedroom suites and the main living room were well air-conditioned. The owner Rasmus was attentive to every email and question .He answered promptly and with detail and could not be more helpful. There was a Sonos system as well, and as I was able to play all my favorite music, a great bonus for us too. Highly recommend this jewel!

Great villa in the heart of El Centro Cartagena

Great multi level villa in the center of the walled city in Cartagena. The location is walking distance to basically anything in the walled off historic area. Pros: -Location Overall - Walking distance to virtually anything in Walled City -Location right near Exito Supermarket - A very ideal scenario considering you are living in a villa and probably at the very least will need snacks and bottled water. -Breakfast is included - The onsite staff make a breakfast daily for all in the house. Quality is solid, but its not restaurant quality. Anyway you slice it though, its convenient. -On-site Staff - Insegna (Spelling) was very nice and she and Alicia were helpful with breakfast and cleaning. They even did a load of laundry for us. (We obviously tipped them at the end of our stay). Air Conditioning in Rooms: Worked well and this was great considering how sticky the weather/heat is there Amenities: Remember you are at a villa. So anything you may need is probably at the villa. Items to cook etc. Also, very helpful to our group was a large cooler to bring out on the boat trips we took. Just ask the staff. Cons: -Main Room does not have Air Conditioning: Since the main room opens up to outside air (above the pool) this main room gets very stick and hot, especially during the day. Just be aware you may not want may to chill out in the main portion of the house very often because of this. -Only 1 Pool: The body of water on the roof is a fountain, not a rooftop pool. We thought from pictures that there were 2 pools. One inside (Swing next to it) and one on the roof. That is not the case and the photos are a bit misleading. -There were some electrical issues: The lights for the terrace/rooftop upstairs did not work or we just could not find the switch. Also, the Air Conditioning in the family room with the Main TV did not work for a few days while we stayed. The unit broke during our stay. -House rules are a bit cumbersome with guests: Read them. We didn’t have any visitors so it was not relevant for us....but it would be a nice perk to have people over. -Front Door: The only way to get in during the day and even late at night is ring the buzzer. Not really an issue, but you feel bad ringing that bell at 2 AM. Even though they tell you its fine, you will feel bad. Location Address: THE PHYSICAL LOCATION OF THE ENTRANCE IS NOT ON THE STREET THAT IS SENT. IT IS ACTUALLY LOCATED AROUND THE CORNER . It took us a bit to find the villa because of this.

Absolutely amazing!

The house & staff exceeded our expectations. The house is BEAUTIFUL & spacious and well situated within the old city. Walkable to restaurants, shopping & sites. The house has beautiful common areas that we all hung out in while we were there and the bedrooms were perfect & cool at night for sleeping. The housekeeping & cooking staff were lovely and so helpful. Breakfast every morning and ready to help with anything the whole time. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Cartagena!

Amazing place to stay for vacation

Starting with the beautiful property and it’s location. You can literally find restaurants, bars, Taking a few steps, you can walk through “la muralla” as well. The house itself has that old villa style but at the same time it’s super clean and has everything you need for your vacations. I stayed with my family and a 7 years old and he was with a smile all the time, jumping in the pool every time he got a chance. But I want to really thank the staff that works in the house Alicia and Andrea where the top of the cherry for our staying, they made us feel like home treating us like part of their family I can’t not put in words how grateful I feel with them. We also rent the boat that the host recommend us and we have the best time of our lives. The crew in the boat where very attentive and accommodating giving us recommendations for our safety and comfort. I’m so happy and content that I found this RBNB :) Thank you

Ya'll this property is MAGIC! Alicia and Jessi are fantastic hosts. The home is perfectly located. The home is beautiful and welcoming, we felt like it was our own. We rented the house's Boat for a great day at the islands. I cannot recommend this property more!

Perfect!

This property is the ideal spot to relax and take refuge from the bustling Old City. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and a wonderful place to spend time – whether by the courtyard pool, or on the rooftop deck where we were treated to a spectacular view of the New Year fireworks. Ideally located for exploring the Old City on foot and very close to restaurants, bars and squares that come alive at night. The staff entirely elevated the experience for us. They went out of their way before our arrival to organize a birthday surprise for one of our party (on very short notice) and the food they cooked for us was delicious. They also helped with restaurant recommendations, organizing taxis, and were above all lovely and sweet to chat to. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience in Cartagena!

Very unique and stylish space - you're torn with wanting to stay inside and enjoy the house but, of course, you're in Cartagena to have some fantastic experiences! The interior of the house is beautiful - interesting art, nicely furnished, very comfortable with plenty of private areas to enjoy. It's located on a quiet street - away from the main crossroads and busy areas within the old city yet close enough that walking anywhere within the wall takes no more than 10 minutes. The housekeepers (different ones at different times) are wonderful! A very special place to stay....

I can’t say enough good things about this home and the staff. Todo perfecto! Every detail of the home is designed perfectly, and the decor and art collection create a breathtaking zen escape. The staff are warm and professional; they’re always there to help but never intrusive. Don’t think twice, just book this property and know you won’t be disappointed in any way.

Beautiful home, but the water...

TLDR: Please be advised to limit shower time and potentially limit to one shower per day per person. My group really enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful, the house attendants were responsive/helpful, and everything was as expected... except for the water. I've been to other Caribbean/Central/South American countries and am usually given disclaimers about any issues or potential issues before booking. We didn't receive any notice about potential water issues with this rental and didn't expect any issues given the home is marketed as "luxury". However, we didn't have running water on two occasions and I'm not exactly sure why. The house attendants told us the tank(s) had to refill on one occasion (as if the water had run out), and on the other occasion we were told it was a citywide issue. However, in both instances a technician was called to the house immediately. And once when we went to dinner around the block the hostess had no recollection of any citywide water outage. Each outage happened at the most inopportune times (upon return from the mud volcano and from the beach). You can imagine our agony. Some of us ended up washing up using jugs of water from the store.

Hello Brittney. Thanks for your feedback. In regards to the water then the city ( only san diego area )had 2 “outs” during your stay. We unfortunately can not do anything in this case. It is rare and unfortunate but one of the challenges of colombia in generel ( happens with electricity,water and internet on few occscions ) Hope you had a good trip back. Thanks.

Beautiful House + Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa La Carbonera. It’s a beautiful house with plenty of space and comfort. The device at the house was also impecable. Walking distance to everything. Can’t wait to come back next year.

This is a gorgeous 3 bedroom “mini-hotel” that we rented all of for a week. Highly recommend it.

Like most of historic Cartagena’s finest homes, Casa Carbonerra is an oasis hidden away behind a street-accessible large wooden door. Step right inside to a cooling, green tiled splash pool bordered by a plant covered wall and open air courtyard. There is another small pool/water feature on the rooftop terrace overlooking all of town. The art here is gallery quality and the large formal sitting room even has a full sized piano. We loved the two ladies on staff who took great care of our two children (12 and 8), booked outings and dinner reservations, and even made us a wonderful Thanksgiving meal (we are from the US). I would stay here again and again.
