From the get go, this place had problems. When I was prepping to leave with my pet I looked and noticed there wasn't any instructions that I could easily find about this place.
At 4:05PM on the day I was checking in, I got a message asking me when I was coming. Now, this is the mountains, cell service vacillates between fine and non existent. So it was entirely possible that I would have not seen this for a while. Regardless I did, and responded, the owner then explained he left the key under the mat. This house is also hard to find on google maps, so it took a while to find.
I got there, and saw an RV and a dark sedan parked out front. I thought I went to the wrong place but nope, it was right. This is because the listing cleverly crops out this RV/Sedan that is about 15 ft from the front door. There was also food in the fridge including a bacon ceaser salad and milk. Given how suspiciously clean the place was this surprised me. In the morning the dark sedan was gone and that's when I realised people where living about 15 ft from the house. I decided I couldn't spend another night at this place. As I was starting my car to drive away, at 7pm. A different red sedan blocked the drive and a person got out and started walking towards the RV. Meaning at least two people lived there. Again, nothing happened and this could just be paranoia, but I would have expected a "calm and peaceful home stay" to have people so close! Plus the key got stuck in the lock for a while.
