Great family location

Great visit on the Anna Maria Island beach

The very clean home is right on the beautiful beach. Communication with the owner couldn't be better. Location is close all Pine Avenue restaurants and shopping. It was well stocked with everything we needed. Towels and beach chairs were especially nice. We had a wonderful stay!

Million dollar view

Great location and excellent views of the Gulf. Sat On the deck and enjoyed the sunsets. New kitchen was nice and well stocked. Looking forward to next year to stay for a Week.

Beyond PERFECT!

This beach house is beyond perfect: amenities, size, location and comfort. Our family of four (2 adults/1 teen/1 pre-teen) had an absolutely wonderful time here. It has enough space without being too big or too small. The two screened in porches were excellent for early morning coffee and reading with beautiful beach views. So grateful for finding this house on Home Away!

Great Location

This house has an amazing location on Bean Point, AMI, and is full of charm!!! The private beach access was perfect! Made it so easy to setup our umbrella, beach toys, chairs, etc. (which were provided by the owner) for the day, then run back and forth to go inside if necessary, especially when the 4 o'clock showers rolled in! LOVED IT! Great communication with the owner, before and during our stay. Looking forward to going back next season!!!

Great Place!

This place is great for our family. This was our second time here. Love the views. Love the location on the island. Does not seem as busy here on the north end. Only 120 steps to the water. Property is as described. Communication with host is great. Will come back again!

Nice house in great location

This house was in an amazing location for easy access to the beach and in a quieter less crowded part of the island. We loved being able to walk out our door right down to the water. It was very well stocked including beach accessories, plenty of beach and bath towels, and even a high chair for our child. The views from the second floor bedroom were gorgeous. It's an older house but was incredibly clean. We would love to return here in the future.

Perfect Family Beach Vacation Spot

Perfect spot for our family! Amazing views from sunrise to sunset. We loved being right on the beach. Hosts provided EVERYTHING we could need for the beach! Enjoyed many meals on the grill outside and had our toes in the sand every day. Beds were so comfy. Great beach house, we would definitely stay again!

Your Private Beach

Not quite, but almost. Osprey House, which extends beyond nearby properties toward the sea, provides uninterrupted views of beautiful Anna Maria Beach and the Gulf across clumps of sea grass. The perspective from the master bedroom is especially extraordinary. Your private path takes you to the beach from the deck. A garage full of beach equipment and a wagon sets you up. We didn't have any problems, but the owner responded to questions within minutes. Perfect service. Don't make the mistake I made--entirely my error. I thought I was renting the entire building shown in the photographs, but this is a duplex with narrower public space. The other unit was unoccupied through our stay.

Nice location, ok rental

Pros: Located directly on the beach Clear water and white sand Near the point of the island where it is slightly less busy Home seems to have been cared for and upgraded over the years - i.e updated kitchen Owner was communicative House was relatively clean with exception of downstairs shower Cons: Overwhelming musty, moldy odor upstairs that prohibited us from using the 2nd bedroom - did not go away after open windows and Lysol so could be a more serious issue Coin-op laundry at $4 per load! Not only is it very pricey and not included in the listing that I noticed, but is extremely inconvenient to find an ATM and get change in order to be able to do laundry House was not well stocked compared to many other rentals we have experienced - i.e. basic first aid, salt and pepper amongst several other things Upstairs windows and screens need repair Several lights in the house either do not work or need replacement bulbs Not a con of the rental, but AMI was not our favorite spot we have visited on the gulf, a bit overcrowded and commercialized, but for many people this would be a pro I think

We appreciate all reviews, especially those with constructive suggestions that assist us in continuously improving our property and guest experience. The five star ratings, wonderful reviews and continued reservations by repeat guests year after year attest to that. Part of the process of continual improvement is good communication with our guests. We hope to answer any question a prospective guest may have, from before their arrival, through their contact less check-in and finally after their departure and return home. I invite anyone with questions to contact me at anytime during their stay- and provide my cell phone number for that purpose. In this case, a few of the reviewers questions could have easily been answered and resolved had I known about them. We do use commercial washer/ dryers, with coin operated chutes, as we have found them to be much more durable and reliable for our guests. However, the coin drawers are left open and unlocked with quarters provided in them for our guests to use. A brand new kitchen with granite tops was installed in October of this year, and items like salt and pepper shakers are in fact stocked in one of the cabinets for our guests along with coffee filters. Up until now we have never had a request for a first aid kit, but will get one as it seems like a good idea to have should the need arise. Finally, there is no underlying reason for the musty odor that was referenced in one of the upstairs bedrooms- but we will check that out. After every guest visit we have a three person cleaning crew carefully go through the house to deep clean and check everything out. It is our hope that every guest enjoys our vacation home and truly unique location of the property right on the beach as much as we do.

Great affordable truly beachfront on AMI, with top notch customer service.

We stayed at The Osprey for the first time on our 5th trip to the unparalleled AMI. The Osprey isn’t only the literal best affordable location but its owners (and renters) are truly the salt of the Earth. As long as we continue to come to AMI, we will ALWAYS stay at Mary & Michael’s! #BestTripYet P.S. Do NOT count on Uber nor Lyft to/fro Island. The owner was generous enough to take us to the airport with literally no time to spare after not only a pre-reservation was cancelled but two “immediate” rides on each app were cancelled. She wouldn’t even take the extra cash offered for the literally legendary service! And instead we had the privilege of learning the history of the best rental on the island. #AlwaysTheOsprey

Charming beach cottage on AMI

Check in was simple and we were greeted with fresh flowers. Location was better than expected. Easy walk to a huge beach - great privacy, easy to find your own space and great for kite flying and throwing football and frisbee with kids. Cottage was a bit older but decorated nicely and had all essentials. Furniture was comfortable- master bed was form and comfortable. Shower pressure was great - weird I know but something we like. View from upper deck off master bedroom was awesome. Sunsets were seen from beach house every eve:-) beautiful. Location near Bean Point was awesome for walks either way down beach every am and eve. We absolutely loved it. We usually get a more modern house- but all of the other features made it still a beautiful and memorable stay. Walking distance to breakfast places- Ginny’s and Jane E’s as well as NorthShore. Cafe for coffee and good food. We felt safe letting teenagers walk down Pine for donuts and ice cream as well as down beach to Rod and Reel. We loved AMI and this beachouse! Thanks for the great stay Michael!

Perfect family vacation!

Awesome location! Amazing views... beach is literally steps away. We sat on the porch and watched the beautiful sunset over the gulf, every night. Home is so cozy, very clean and well stocked. Just bring your swimsuit, toothbrush and food. We were sad to leave. Michael (owner) provided exceptional customer service... always responded immediately...great to work with . Highly recommend this home if your looking for a relaxing, low maintenance . family vacation. At least one visit to the “Donut Experiment “ is a must ! Dp

Osprey House was awesome!

My husband, two teen children, and I spent the best spring break ever at The Osprey House. We all loved this house on Bean Point and the carefree vibe of Anna Maria Island so much that we started planning a return vacation while we were there. The house is immaculate with comfortable beds/pillows and a well-stocked kitchen. The upper and lower porches are perfect sitting areas. I cannot overemphasize the great location of The Osprey House; the beach and ocean are literally right outside of the back door. The owners are gracious and helpful. The beach and Gulf are breathtakingly beautiful and full of wildlife. We especially loved the Royal Terns and watching their mating ritual of males catching and feeding tiny fish to the females. We took long walks and runs, played bocce ball, and watched spectacular sunsets on the beach. We had great food at The Beach House, Harry’s Grill (two evenings, we put our name in for a table at Harry’s, walked to the beach beside The Sandbar Restaurant and watched the sun set, then walked back to Harry’s for dinner), Rod and Reel Pier, Ginny’s & Jane’s Cafe, The Donut Experiment (fun cake doughnut shop), and Poppo’s Taqueria (very casual but yummy Mexican). The fresh seafood in AMI is heavenly. My #1 recommendation (besides booking The Osprey House) is rent a golf cart for travel around AMI during your stay. You’ll have a blast exploring the island by golf cart. Visit the AMI Historical Society Museum if you like that kind of thing; the volunteer staff members are friendly and can answer questions you might have about the area. Great location, great beach, perfect size for a family.

The Osprey was a perfect match for our group of 6. The owners communicated quickly and have provided a great vacation rental. Plenty of amenities provided for the beach. The porches are perfect for watching the sunrise or sunset. The house was clean and had exactly what is needed to have a home away from home. We recommend this place for families.

Pros: -Location -great views -beautiful sunsets -great backdrops for photo ops -very clean -nice soft linens; plenty of bath towels -owner responds very quickly -large, ‘outdoor’ shower in the garage -kitchen is well-equipped -Island has wonderful restaurants, shops, and grocery stores close by -we had a bucket list experience of being in knee-deep water with 11 manatees cavorting -lots of shells, sand dollars, and birds (watch out for those nosey crows going into your bags looking for snacks!) -super nice, friendly people on the beach, in the stores/restaurants -safe area -free bus shuttle -lots of good beach chairs/toys/umbrellas in the garage Cons: -2 story house split left to right, so long and narrow with a very small kitchen -coin-operated laundry in the garage, which is very sauna-like -windows are covered with sheers only, which is nice for the views, but let’s in light early and offers little privacy (we covered the windows with the quilts in the house clamping with chip clips) -parts of the house/bathrooms need updating The pros DEFINITELY outweigh the cons for this VRBO!

Sit Back and Relax

Waking up in the master suite with a view overlooking the ocean was the perfect way to begin our day. No black out shades, so be ready to wake up to plenty of sunshine. We loved it! The house was clean and comfortable. Plenty of beach chairs, towels, toys for small children (we didn't have any small children) and having the washer/dryer (coin operated) was a plus. We vacationed with a total of 6 adults and the home offered plenty of room for all of us. House sits just far enough from the ocean for privacy, but close enough to enjoy the surf. This end of the Island is devoid of too many beach goers and was perfect for a quiet family getaway! Just a short walk to Pine Ave. for some shopping and to pick up Key Lime Donuts (YUMMY!) every morning, but get there early!

Highly Recommended Beach House

We just left a perfect week at this beautiful beach home. First let me start by saying Michael gave excellent customer service which made this an easy choice for rental property. The home is a duplex but the other side is kept vacant for privacy. There was no one around us, we definitely had quite the privacy and the beach is just enough of a walk to keep the front patio peaceful and private. We are nature lovers and had our fill seeing shark, manatee, skates, dolphins, horseshoe crabs, geckos, sand dollars, sea stars and tons of shells to name a few. Advice for seashell hunting, go early around sunrise for the best pick, otherwise there will just be smaller shells left. The property had absolutely gorgeous views and was very clean. It is not a huge place, but cozy for a single family. Highly recommend and give 5 stars. PS my artist daughter loved the fun art in the house, especially your daughters tree drawing in the bedroom :)

A little piece of heaven

First and foremost, we were very pleased with our stay. We were sad to say good bye to AMI. That being said, we weren't aware the washer/dryer were coin operated (though it does say coin operated IF you hover over the word "washing machine"). It wouldn't have been a huge deal except we weren't prepared and the fact that the dryer took more than 1 cycle. In all, 1 load of laundry cost $6.00. Had we been prepared, we would have simply packed more clothes. Another drawback, the path from the house to the beach was flooded. The only way to walk to the ocean was through about 6" of flood water. Despite all of this, we had a fabulous time. The house is great, the beaches are not over crowded. We made memories that will last us a lifetime! One of the days, the water was so clear, we had fish swim up to us. We found many sand dollars, huge shells and coral. We saw some amazing dolphin play. If you want a true beach experience, this could be the place...it was for us.

Our dream came true!

This was our first experience with VRBO, and it couldn't have been better. The owner was responsive and helpful. The house was perfect for our family of 5, including 2 teenagers. The shower stall and separate changing area in the garage are genius, keeping sand out there rather than in the house! The beach towels, toys, chairs and umbrella were essentials for us, especially as we traveled by air. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed seeing dolphins and rays from shore! We also came across a baby octopus that had been washed ashore and were able to observe natural pleasures like this from up close! (we did return the critter to the water). The house was in a desirable location on the north end of the island - close to restaurants and shopping - but not near the busy public beaches! We hope to return in the future. Great experience!!
