First off, the location was perfect for our plans. We were within a few minutes walk to take the seasonal ferry to Newport for the day. Also within a 10 minute walk to rent e-bikes to hop onto the nearby East Bay bike path. Highly recommend both activities. An additional plus was having Trader Joe’s within a few minutes walk. The boat had hot water for showers and the bed was comfy. We had no issues accessing the marina or the boat and the owner responded very quickly when we needed the WiFi password. The marina was very nice/safe and the boat is located at the end of the dock which gave a bit more privacy. On Wednesday and Thursday, it was very quiet at night. Friday night, there was music from a nearby club until late. I was able to fall asleep but others may need ear plugs. Around 2 AM, there was some shouting for several minutes. If you need absolute quiet, you may need to avoid weekends.I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this fun VRBO. There are a few maintenance repairs that I would make sure were taken care of first. The dining table wasn’t stable and needs to be repaired to be functional. There was also a musty odor that needs addressing. We had nice weather so could air out the boat. There’s a few other details such as metal trim on the floor that needs to be reattached. An additional wine glass (there was 1) and an additional dish towel (there was 1) to wipe off outside seating when wet would be helpful. With these repairs, I think you’d have a 5-star experience.

The other reviews are accurate. There is a slight musty odor but it is tolerable. We only stayed one night but I would stay longer.

The Frida was a unique stay staying on a boat instead of a house or hotel.our host was awesome and made sure we got everything we needed. Was our first trip to Rhode Island but not our last. Great Time.

A fun, different and new adventure

We have never stayed on a boat before and we had a great time! Much more spacious than expected and Marcella was a great host, very responsive and friendly! Thanks!

Pros: Really fun place to stay. Like camping on the water. Convenient to grocery and coffee shops, restaurants. Loved the convenience to biking, walking places. Very timely communication with hosts answering questions. Cons: Not a quiet location (especially Friday night with the nightclub). Parking can be tricky but was manageable. A little musty so I wouldn't recommend if you have significant allergies.

Unique Adventure

This was SO FUN! The owners were very responsive and helpful. You’ll definitely want to have prior understanding of what staying on an older boat is like. The size, the smells, the bathroom, the locks etc. We were worried about the heat at first but the a/c did cool things down. Overall it was very comfortable and we slept great! The location was perfect!

Shlomi & Marcela were very quick to answer any and all questions we had about the property. We enjoyed our stay at Providence Marina on Frida. I was concerned about the parking situation, but it worked out ok with the on street parking.The other slip owners were friendly and the Marina as a whole felt very safe and secure.The closest bars and restaurants: I enjoyed the hot club and Tel AvivThe Fish company was poor, and they are greedy by charging parking on the weekends. And their food and music sucks. THERE ARE NO MARINA PARKING SPOTS!!! It looks like there should be, but apparently the fish company owns the whole lot and get greedy on the weekends.
