This house is so much cuter in person! The rooms are beautiful and spacious, there are hidden beds everywhere and we LOVED IT! We were told that unfortunately their pool wasn’t heating at the moment and they offered a discount, which was so kind. However, the room was warm and the kids still enjoyed the pool.

This property was amazing. We booked with the intention of a little staycation away from home. The house was well stocked, welcoming and comfortable for our entire family. We brought activities to do together and quiet time activities for each of us so we could hang out and a grocery store wasn't far. I only rate this property a 4 because we were not able to fully enjoy the pool due to some unforseen issues, but our host was very helpful and replied quickly to all of our messages. We spent a great deal of time in the pool house, the room temperature was comfortable and it gave us more space for the kids. If the opportunity presented itself we would definitely stay again and highly recommend this stay.

We attended the Chiefs/Lions game. House location was super. The house is older and the accommodations are adequate. Cleanliness was average with some room for improvement. For our two night stay it was fine.

We stayed at the house more than we’ve ever stayed during Vacation at the actual rental home. The pool was a big attraction for the kids. They were in there every single day. We were close enough to go to some of the sites in Kansas City. Enjoy worlds of fun, Legoland, the Hallmark Museum plus more. Great time for all of us. The house was very clean convenient and again the pool was amazing. Loved our stay!! The host was responsive to all my text and questions prior to arrival. Check in was easy. Easy Access to Chiefs and Royals

Great family house

The house was great for our big family holiday meet-up. The pool is so unique and the kept the kids entertained. Historic Downtown Independence just up the street is full of great restaurants, coffee shops and stores. Rachel was super responsive and everything was easy to navigate. We had such an interesting and fun stay.

Overall, the house was good and my kids had a blast. One of the main selling points of the house was a heated pool. The heater was broken. The oven made a really weird/loud sound so we couldn’t cook everything we wanted to for the week. The gas stove tops were finicky. Even though none of that was repaired during our short stay there, the house was fine and the communication with the agent via VRBO was good.

Indoor Oasis

The property was clean, stocked, and relaxing. Rachel was easy to work with and helpful. The pool room is a great place to unwind and spend the day. It was a beautiful home. We did have a hiccup regarding our check in and it being delayed a day, however, Rachel was responsive and proactive and helped us with a refund and tried to find other accomodations. Its worth staying here!

Great Place and fantastic pool house!

met family here as its half way between Texas and Wisconsin. the property itself is awesome. The house was clean and remodeled well. We needed a couple things and the host was amazing and attentive. The good size dining room accommodated our whole party and allowed us all to eat together which was fantastic. the pool was amazing and having the heated area is a huge plus. we spent the majority of our time out in the pool area! overall this property is a 4.8/5. the only thing wrong with this property is the location as its a not a super nice area which doesn't allow for walks around the block or any real outside time. however, with the pool who needs any outside time!

Loved it!

We chose this property because of the pool and the location. We have a disabled child and wanted an easy and entertaining getaway before school started. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen has most anything you would need and we always love having laundry so we don't have so much to do when we return home. My son and I slept on the main floor area with the Murphy bed and it was really comfortable. All of the bedding is extremely comfortable as well. For a home built in 1895, I was surprised with it's spaciousness, the bathrooms and the fact that it DOES NOT SMELL! I am extremely sensitive to mold/mildew smells and was thrilled that I didn't have to worry about it with this property. The owner was wonderful to work with and even stopped by herself with a request we had when nobody else was available. That really meant a lot to us and made our stay even more relaxing. The pool area is so unique and felt very safe, as did the house with the security. There are not a ton of options directly nearby for dining, but we did try Cafe Verona in the cute little downtown area and highly recommend it (3 minute drive). The house is conveniently located to the Interstate and there are tons of options within a 10-20 minute drive. Smokehouse BBQ is also fantastic. We would love to return to this property.

Many additions have been made to this historic property, including a large kitchen, extra bathrooms, intercom/radio system, and it’s own private backyard retreat with a pool. Updates were made to every room in 2023, including a new HVAC system and roof so the home is very comfortable for your family to enjoy.
The house is 2800 sq feet and the private backyard pool house is another 2000 sq feet. Enjoy modern luxury in this historic property that offers everything you need for a trip.

Main Level Living = After three steps from the driveway to the porch, all living spaces are on the main level. The Pool House has a built-in wall heater/fan system for temperature control. There are a variety of gathering spaces (indoor and out) including dining tables, couches, hammocks, porch swing, a treehouse fort, and more.
* The pool is currently heated to 80 degrees. If you would like to increase the pool temperature, you may do so by contacting us. The cost to increase the pool temperature is $20/degree per day. Must notify us at least 2 days prior to arrival to allow time for the pool to heat up.

Kitchen = Fully stocked: stainless steel professional appliances and dual wall ovens, coffee maker & keurig, and tea plus all types of sweeteners, creamer, pans, crockpot plus cookware, spices, measuring cups, mixing bowls, dishes for adults and kids, toaster, knife set, and even a pitcher for lemonade.

Sleeping areas= Bedrooms are upstairs as well as an office for working, school, etc. Plus an option for a murphy bed on the main floor if a guest is unable to walk upstairs.
