Aloha Travis, We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at this gorgeouos condo. It is a slice of paradise. Blind for both bathrooms have been ordered and should be installed soon. The one window with bird poop needs to be cleaned by the condo contractors, as it is in an area that is inaccessable. They provide this service biannually. Hopefully it will be done soon. Thank you Barb, I have actually taken your suggestions to heart and have ordered and received many things from amazon to upgrade the condo. Among the upgrades, ; Hooks to hang items on in the shower BBQ utensils More cooking utensils More coasters Repair of a bathroom door that was off the track more night lights in the unit Big repairs that were done in general not an issue for Barb include: a brand new split AC system with 4 units. ($10,000 upgrade and well worth it. That system is awesome) New sliding door rollers and assembly for the patios $1,000 New screens Complete overhaul of the freezer and frig icemaker systems of the entire unit or the views or other positives) We've only owned the unit over a year. The fires happened shortly after we purchased which has made it hard to upgrade, but know our heart is in it and we are transforming it into Ala Kohala ( Whale crossing) That is the name of the LLC. Its going to be more beachy, but takes time and money to do. We are committed and appreciate your business to our condo. Aloha Mark, thank you for your constructive critisism. I have purched plenty of cutlery ( new steak knife set) and cookware. The dishwasher is standard size. I cannot put anything bigger in unless I remodel the kitchen. That project will come down the road.

Aloha Glenn, Although our condo is about 10 miles away from the Lahaina burn area, our hearts go out to those families. I know you were at the condo right at the time of the tradegy, and the power was shut off, the cell phone and internet went out and it was a crazy time. It still is a struggle for those families that live and work in the town of Lahaina. They are currently in the debris clearing phase. There is a debris fence set up around the town and no one is allowed in, except residents and business owners. The rest of Maui is open and asking tourists to return since 90% of their livlihood is tourism. There are many fun and beautiful things to experience on the island. October 17 is an arbitrary date the the mayor has uttered as a time when west Maui will be "officially open for business" The power is on, the roads are open, the cell and internet is restored, gas stations have gas and grocery stores have food. We will be ready to welcome guests back to our condo when ever they feel comfortable returning. I would like to offer you a complimentary stay later when you would like to return. We have recently purchase the condo and our next steps are to modernize and decorate to our taste. We have chosen the theme of whales for our condo since it is prime whale watching view from the lanais. We have named the condo Ala Kohala, which in Hawaiian means whale pathway. Thank you Karen for your review. My brother and I always appreciate constructive criticism. I'm glad I did have time to talk with you and I have noted your suggestions to make the unit top notch and top dollar rental. It is a beautiful unit with a spectacular view. This visit to Maui for my brother and I will focus on getting all of the small things that are doable done. I've already purchased more utensils, BBQ equipment, coffee maker etc. Our big project after the AC units (Which are done and blowing very cold air) will be modernizing the bathrooms. We are interviewing contractors during our next stay. There is a new restaurant poolside that I understand is fantastic. Captain Jacks. We are slowly shifting our condo theme to Whales. The condo is called Ala Kohala ( or whale pathway) We are replacing the oriental style with a more beachy feel. It is beautiful as it is, but will be extra lovely when it is done. Lahaina is getting a new facelift as well and many of the eating establishments are returning and I will update the restaurant guide shortly.( I send this out with the welcome packet.) We hope you and your family will return one day tothe beautiful island of Maui and choose to stay in our condo once again. Thank you again for your insight and 5 star review.
