The Pelican’s Perch Cottage has undergone a total renovation, featuring a 3-bedroom configuration, TWO screened porches, and a spacious backyard. The cottage is pet-friendly, accommodating one well-behaved dog weighing up to 30 pounds.

We will text you the entry code and Wi-Fi password on day of arrival once unit is ready. The Daufuskie Rental Group on site team lives on the island and ready to help in any way!



The Neighborhood:

The wildlife is abundant and breathtaking. The resort is the home of a Great White Egret rookery, where you will see hundreds of these graceful birds settle in for the night. A nest of American Bald Eagles can be found behind the inn, and now and then vigilant visitors can actually catch sight of a Loggerhead Turtle coming ashore to lay hundreds of eggs in the soft sand.



1) Daufuskie Rental Group makes a good faith effort to describe island amenities, including restaurants and pools. However, please note that we are not responsible for the availability of amenities that we do not operate and that are beyond our control. Please contact the vendors directly for rates, days and hours of operation.



2) Your rental agreement contract's cancellation policy states that we are not responsible for events that are beyond our control, such as hurricanes. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance, and especially recommend "cancel for any reason" policies. (These must be purchased shortly after your reservation is made.)



3) Please note that because the Melrose Resort is in transition, our Melrose guests may notice a certain level of deterioration in the resort-owned buildings but will also see that renovation efforts are now underway. Our vacation cottages are in well-maintained areas and continue to be extremely popular.



Getting Around:

- DRG representatives will help provide contacts for booking your passenger-only ferry or water taxi to Daufuskie, ground transportation from Daufuskie dock to your property, and renting a golf cart to get around the island. Team members are on-site to assist with any questions or requests while you are here.

- The maximum occupancy is 6 guests



- Pet Policy: One well-behaved adult dog weighing less than 30 pounds is allowed. A non-refundable pet fee of $125 is required. (For questions about the pet policy, please consult with your DRG property manager.)



- DRG representatives will help provide contacts for booking your passenger-only ferry or water taxi to Daufuskie, ground transportation to your property, and renting a golf cart to get around the island. Team members are on-site to assist with any questions or requests while you are here.
