We're sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience, but it's important we respond to this message. The guest notified us of charges upon booking the reservation w/in the first 24 hours, but that it indicated pending confirmation. We gave confirmation to the guest the next day in writing via email and our booking platform. The guest received messages after booking and prior to check in, including a special offer. The guest reached out on the day of check-in and was provided a detailed set of house instructions and rules 2-hours prior to the contracted check-in time. This policy ensures that the home is ready for all guests and for security purposes to ensure that guests checking in and out do not overlap, much like how any other hotel would operate. After the guest received instructions, we did not hear from them again until we followed up. They did not cancel their reservation. Our assumption, having not heard from them, was that they enjoyed the use of the property. We offered a discounted rate for another stay in good faith when we heard they chose to make other accommodations and expressed their frustration. The guest then cancelled their credit card charges, creating a burden on us as hosts and small business owners who otherwise could have had other guests for a holiday weekend. We strive to offer the best service for all guests and are proud of our positive reviews from hundreds of other guests. This is the first and only time we've ever encountered this sort of issue.
