The Pink cottage on West Beach, water front , short walk to beach

The Pink Cottage started as a fishing shack in 1955, the year after hurricane Hazel. In 1968 the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom were added. Also the back porch was enclosed and the kitchen was added including a large deck facing the water. In 2021 the shack was completely renovated and became The Pink Cottage. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water was added. The kitchen is fully furnished including a dishwasher. The pink cottage overlooks Montgomery Slough with its tidal creek where at low tide the many species of birds feed, at high tide watch for the dolphins. You may access the Slough at 17th Place West where you can catch your own shrimp, crab, or just explore the marsh with all its abundant life. You can also launch your kayak from this access. You don't have to worry about beach parking - it is just a short walk to the beach.

Our stay at The Pink Cottage was amazing! It was just what my family needed. The pictures of the cottage don't do it justice. It is so beautifully decorated and clean. The view is so serene and it is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with a very short walk to the beach. It's the perfect place to be for exploring Oak Island. Pink House is great place to stay.

The Pink House has everything you need for a vacation stay and was very clean. The Hosts were helpful and friendly. View was awesome from back deck and, it was just a short walk to the beach. Definitely hope to have a chance to return.

The Pink Cottage is perfect. A lovely little home on the tidal creek. It has beautiful marsh views (we saw an amazing sunset) and is a quick walk to the beach. It is very cute! Good size for two Adults. Not a lot of closet space but a lot of dresser storage. Small dishwasher but was fine for us! Great views of marsh and sunsets! Love the back porch with rockers! It was spotless when we arrived! I really appreciated that! John and Sarah were very nice.

Great stay

House is very clean, nicely decorated and well suited to a couple or small family. We loved the location right on the marsh and enjoyed watching the birds. The beach access is also very convenient. The owners were very nice and helpful before/during our stay. We only regret we didn't book a full week!

Sweet Cottage

Charming cottage with everything you could possibly need - hosts were responsive to communication and made the Pink Cottage an easy choice for our anniversary weekend. Clean and comfortable, close to everything, could have harvested oysters from the marsh if we wanted to- the hardest part was leaving!

The house was very clean. The beds were pretty hard and the stove and cooking accessories were old and didn’t work the greatest. The owner made several comments about our service dog which I didn’t care for. Said several times “his mother in law is highly allergic to dogs”. I have documentation on the dog and that’s part of being a host is to accommodate that. Owner lives right next door too, so not much privacy as you feel like you’re being watched the entire time.

We enjoyed our time at this amazing little Pink Cottage. We celebrated our 42nd Anniversary and had a very relaxing and peaceful time. Being on the deck and just enjoying the birds and nature was my favorite. This house and host, John did not disappoint and we will return for another stay. John was courteous and helpful with any questions we had. We highly recommend this house , it has everything you need and the outdoor shower was nice too. Family trip

This was our first time at OKI, my husbands family rented multiple houses for the week. We stayed here with one other couple and our small children. With the other family members being close by, we were really only here to sleep but wish we would have had more time to enjoy it! The house was clean, absolutely adorable, and my little girls have begged to go back to “our pink house” since we left. My husband mentioned that he hates he didn’t have more time to fish because the house is on the water. Overall, we had a great experience and the owners were nice and very easy to communicate with. Would recommend and will likely stay again!
