In response to COVID-19 we are taking responsible measures to make your stay as safe as possible by expanding our cleaning program to include disinfecting all high-touch surfaces:
Kitchen counters, appliance handles and dining surfaces
Bathroom counters and hardware, including toilets
Light switches
Television remote controls
Interior and exterior door knobs

The Flip Flop Inn is conveniently located between both bridges, for easy access to mainland and two grocery stores, Publix and Food Lion. Just up the road is Southport, 6.8 miles to oak island lighthouse, 7.1 to the Marina, 14.4 to Fort Fisher Aquarium , shops, restaurants and cafes.
6 miles to helicopter ride or sky dive.
15 miles to Southport Ferry,great ride to Carolina Beach, in the summer onThursday night they have a free to public: band then fireworks and rides

This Ocean Front, 3 bedroom/2 bath/Living Rm/full Kitchen home amenities include an oceanfront porch, outdoor shower, full sized washer/dryer, kitchen includes dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, bakeware, pans, a dishwasher, a coffee maker. Just bring your spices and food and have at it.

We love our furry family member and welcome you to bring you small dogs, up to 20lb for the adventure.

This is the perfect little cottage on the beach. Easy access to the oceanfront. Very clean with all amenities you need. Jeanette was so responsive and helpful. She made the stay even more enjoyable. Only suggestion is to add some towel racks in the main bathroom. I did wish there was a roof over the porch since it rained and I wanted to sit outside and read but we can’t have it all. I would stay here again a million times. It made me fall further in love with Oak Island!

The house was so clean! The house is pet friendly and it had no smell at all. The rooms were clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. View was great and loved being oceanfront. Host was AMAZING! Response time was unlike any other we have rented from. We would definitely stay here again!

The cottage is a little older, but very clean and located right on the beach. Jeanette, the manager couldn’t have been more helpful and answered any questions we had right away.we would stay again.

Cute older cottage directly on the beach! The Dunes are about eye level but you can still see the water from the house and deck. A/C works great and both showers had great water pressure.

Cozy cottage on the water

I loved the location of this vintage 60's beach house. The house is cozy. Having that first cup of coffee in the morning looking at the waves from the porch was just heaven! The house is in such a good location, everything like grocery stores and restaurants are just minutes away. My family enjoyed our vacation very much.

Location 10! Great host

If you’re looking for a great beach view location, then this place is perfect! It is right on the beach! Couple little things could make it a bit better. Light outside would be helpful. Maybe a small patch of grass for the furry children and a little updated furniture and possibly a covered area on the porch. It was cozy with all necessities. Jeanette was a great host. Loved the entry/exit system keypad access. Highly recommend

Great place! As close to the beach as you can be. I would say that this place is just what it is like in the photos. We weren't able to bring our dog but could see how they would have loved it.

Great beachfront cottage with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of space and amenities for a group of 5-6. Loved the back porch and easy access to beach. Grocery store and local restaurants close by.

Perfect getaway with our furbabies!

Oceanfront, just over the dunes to the beach! Quiet spot with the cross over to the beach directly in front of the house, which was awesome! The porch was nice with 2 new Adirondack rockers and a tall Adirondack chair set for ocean viewing.We were so glad we were able to take our 2 small dogs with us! The hostess even had a blanket furnished for covering the couch so they could sit with us, and a bin of “doggie necessities” in case we forgot anything! Oak island is very dog friendly. The cottage was just as described. It was quaint and reminded me of my childhood where we spent summers on the island. The cottage was clean and easy to maneuver with front stairs to the front door as well as back stairs to go down for beach access. Everything was in working order and we had no issues. The kitchen is small, but perfect for a beach cottage. The kitchen area was well stocked with everything you need for preparation, cooking, and dining.Communication with the hostess was great and she responded quickly to our questions.We will certainly return to this cottage in the future!

Still love it!

This was my second trip to this wonderful beach house. I loved it as much this time as last. It is my idea of a perfect beach house. My only concern is that by me “singing its praises” to everyone I see, it will be booked up all the time and I won’t be able to rent it again! I definitely want to return!

Wonderful vacation!!!

The house was perfect for me and my three friends. It was very clean and best of all had a great porch for us to relax and look at the ocean. It was only a few steps to a beautiful beach. It was quiet, peaceful, and also felt safe for all of us. The property manager was wonderful and I feel certain had we had any problems or concerns, she would have addressed them. As it turned out, though, everything was great just as it was. I loved the house and I love Oak Island!

Christmas Vacation

We had a wonderful time of rest and relaxation. Weather may not have been the greatest but fine for the time of year. No one can control that! We put a puzzle together and played our games and just relaxed. Nice place. We definitely ate too much!

We loved our stay at the Flip Flop Inn. The property was clean, cozy and well kept. Location was perfect and being able to bring our mini Schnauzer was icing on the cake. We plan to stay there again for sure.
