Cabin living with waterfront views!

Welcome to Mallards Crossing!

We’re excited to share our lakefront cabin with you! Enjoy some of the best views that the Potagannising Bay has to offer. Relax on the wrap-around deck while viewing the water and it’s wildlife, sport fish the bay and many island shorelines, as well as experience some of the most amazing sunsets! Enjoy the lake during the day and end each night with a bonfire under the North’s best starlit nights.

The island is also a Jeep / ORV destination. Multiple trails and routes provide days of fun, sun, dust or mud!

The main floor consists of the living room, dining/kitchen area, (2) private bedrooms (one full bed in ea.), full bathroom and separate laundry room; overall you have all the space you need.

The upstairs loft sleeps 7 socially with(3) Queens and (1) Single bed.

The covered deck faces the lake as well as wraps around the side and back. It has a gas grill, outdoor picnic table, and outdoor seating to relax in.

Spend time sunning on the dock. Bring your boat to enjoy the waters around this fisherman's paradise.

Wi-Fi / streaming is provided and cell phone reception can be questionable. A landline is active if needed.

Guest access
You have full access of the cabin by a numeric keypad on the door.

Check in after 3:00 PM. Check out by 10:00 AM.

Family Trip

Awesome cabin with amazing view

The cabin is nice and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything necessary for a large group. Daniel communicated with us well and responded quickly to us. The view from the cabin is stunning. We had a wonderful stay and would visit again.

Great views on the Lake

We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for 5 of us. The views of the lake were great. Only issues were part of the dock that was shown in the photos was missing making it a bit more difficult to fish from and the propane for the grill was empty. But, all in all a great place to stay.

This was all of our first trip to Drummond Island (but not our last) and the cabin and location exceeded our expectations! We had a great time and can’t say enough about the amenities! Little piece of Drummond Paradise

Mallard Crossing was perfect for us and our dog! Loved the location for getting on the 4x4 trails dining and fishing! The views from the deck and property are beautiful and loved hanging out on the rock beach. We didn’t bring a boat but maybe next time, we did use a charter fishing and caught perch. The place is clean, well stocked even Kleenex! We would rent again for sure! Dan was easy to communicate with and even text to let us know about the northern lights that were out!

Perfect Upnorth getaway!

This property was perfect for our group of friends during our long weekend of riding trails. The home was clean, adorable upnorth feel and accommodated 8 guests comfortably. It was very relaxing being right on the water, peaceful sunrises and sunsets from the porch. Conveniently located near trail heads and a short drive from town. The driveway was a little difficult to fit a 32ft gooseneck in but the smaller trailers fit fine and there was plenty of parking space for trucks, trailers and sidexsides.

Great cabin and location

This was the perfect cabin for our family “guys trip”! We had 3 generations of our family staying for an extended weekend of fishing, sightseeing, watching football and cooking great meals. The cabin had everything we needed. The dock was great to have for our two boats and we found good fishing right behind the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and the weber grill worked perfectly. We hope to book this cabin again for next years trip. Also, the host was a great communicator and was very responsive for any questions we had. 5- stars all the way!

Perfect for family UTV trip

2024 Family UTV trip to Drummond. 11 adults were able to fit comfortably in this home. Great space for cards, well supplied for cooking, and comfortable seating in living room. Beautiful view of the bay. About a 10 minute drive on the pavement to reach the trailhead. Wish the home had a 2nd bath for this many folks, but we made do just fine with one. Daniel was very helpful and responsive with a couple pre-checkin questions. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent cabin, location, scenery and communication

The cabin, dock and location exceeded our expectations. My wife and I took our two dogs on a short vacation to this beautiful cabin and we didn't want to leave. The cabin had everything we needed. It was a quite location with a great dock for my boat and was located close enough to town. We loved every minute of our stay and will book this cabin again, soon. The host was available if we needed anything and was very helpful. The cabin had a true up north cabin feel to it. The covered deck/porch was the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee, read in the afternoon and cocktails in the evening. 5-stars all the way!

Disappointed and left a day early

The owner was worried about a spetic smell, but the only smell in the house was wet dog. As I have an allergy to pet dander we covered the furniture to help keep the dander out of the air. It was too much and we did leave a full day early, it just was not worth staying another day. Most concerning is the slight mention of the hard water. Everything is covering in a thick hard film, but removable with hand washing. When you rent a house one would assume you would cook. I had to hand wash every glass, utensil, pan, not to mention the grill was obviously untouched and the last person who used it left it very dirty. I just did not have the time to clean it to use it.The coffee pot was completely rusted, the kitchen sprayer covered in mold, the blender on the counter was caked with white residue. In the knife block I removed two knifes covered in food. The kitchen island counter held together by duct tape. The dishwasher was covered in thick residue, it obviously is not going to clean dishes.Unfortunately, this is my third bad experience with VRBO's, so I am done. All of these properties charge the same as Northern Properties and I have never once had a bad experience in any of their locations. Can't waste my money again.

I am sorry that you had an unenjoyable stay. My listing clearly states this unit is a dog friendly cabin. With dander allergies, my dog friendly place was not a good choice for you. Due to the unknown issue of the sewer smell, both you and the renter before you were notified of the issue and that it was being investigated and repaired. A cancellation and full refund was offered and not accepted. The repair was made 2 weeks prior to your arrival. The previous renter mentioned there was no odor and repair was successful. As to the hard water and the rust/water/residue issues you describe? This was due to an unknown malfunction of the water softener – which is being rectified. The 2 renters prior to you had not mentioned this issue. The softener was quite old as well as the rest of the cabin. The duct tape on the counter tops was a quick fix to hold the lifting laminate down until time allows for a full replacement. It seems that my place as well as the other VRBO’s are not for you, having had multiple bad experiences. My apologies again for the inconvenience you experienced.
