Beautiful View, Horrible Host Experience
The property itself is lovely — gorgeous views, a relaxing hot tub, and a very comfortable upstairs bed. We also appreciated the kind touch of a card and bottle of champagne.However, our experience was overshadowed by serious issues. I had a severe allergic reaction to the detergent used on the linens and woke up on my wedding day with facial swelling, to the point where my makeup has to be changed to try to hide it. The driveway is also extremely steep and narrow, which made unloading and turning vehicles around difficult. Those with large vehicles or mobility issues should be cautious. Most upsetting was the host’s behavior. On the morning of our wedding, he called and screamed at my mother after one of our bridesmaids accidentally let the dogs out off-leash. He then threatened to evict us immediately — as I was getting ready — and demanded 300 to let us stay. We later learned that at some point after we booked (nearly a year in advance), he added a size and weight limit to the pet policy and used that as justification for trying to remove us. Despite this, we spent hours cleaning before checkout (ensuring that it was spotless, with limited cleaning supplies) and left a thank-you note. There is nowhere to dispose of garbage, so we had to take this with us in car (only a spot for refundable recycling). Only after this did we find out how poorly we had been treated. The property is beautiful, but I cannot recommend it due to the host’s deeply unprofessional conduct.
