Lake Þingvellir Cottage

A fully modernized charming family owned cottage, located in a beautiful landscape only one hour drive from Reykjavík.

The cottage is 60 square meters, with three bedrooms and sleeps 5 people. The master bedroom has a 160 cm double bed. Second bedroom has a bunk bed (120 cm and 90 cm). The third bedroom has 120 cm bed and a 40 inch flat screen. The bathroom is very bright with white tiles, big mirror and a shower. The kitchen, dining area and the living room are in an open space. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, fridge, freezer, coffee machine etc. The living room has a fireplace, sofa, relaxing rocking chair and our guests can connect to a bluetooth speaker. From the living room is a beautiful view over Lake Þingvellir. The cottage has a central heating all year round.

At the terrace around the cottage is a Weber grill and a seating area with chairs and table. From there you can enjoy the view over Lake Þingvellir and the surrounding mountains with spectacular sunsets and the Northern Lights. In the garden there is a play area with a trampolin and and a football pitch in the summertime. Parking in front of the cottage has space for 2 cars.

All the major nature pearls in South Iceland - Gullfoss and Geysir, Þingvellir National Park, Langjökull Glacier, Kerið crater, Friðheimar tomato farm and Laugarvatn are all in the neighbourhood. The nearest supermarket is in 20 min drive from the cottage, at Laugarvatn

Conveniently located for a day´s trip to Landmannalaugar, Thorsmork, Skógafoss waterfall, Háifoss waterfall, Thjórsárdalur valley, Vatnajökull glacier, Skaftafell national park and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
