Gorgeous 5BR Home w/ Pool, Steps to the Beach!

Hi Chris, we appreciate you choosing to stay at our property for your vacation, and we value the feedback from our guests; however, we feel that the 1 star review is misleading and inaccurate. We strive to provide excellent service to you and all of our guests, so it’s extremely disappointing to see your review, especially when it’s not justified. The owner feels very bad that you did not have AC on July 4th, and we just went ahead and refunded your credit card for this inconvenience. While the AC in the bedrooms on the 2nd floor stopped working on the 4th of July, fortunately the AC still worked on the entire 1st floor and the 3rd floor, and we were able to send our maintenance person over to the property right away on the morning of July 4th. The owners maintain excellent condition of the property and while the whole HVAC system and thermostat on the 2nd floor are only a year old, our maintenance person identified that the thermostat would need to be looked at from an HVAC specialist to determine how exactly to the fix the issue. Within a couple hours of our maintenance person coming to the property on the morning of July 4th, we had our HVAC specialist come to the house and look at the 2nd floor thermostat. They needed to get a certain part to fix the thermostat and told us they would have it fixed by July 5th. In the meantime, we bought 3 new tower fans right away on the afternoon of July 4th and placed a tower fan in each bedroom that did not have AC. By 12:00pm on July 5th, our HVAC specialist was able to fix the AC on the 2nd floor. At the Jersey Shore, it’s uncommon for owners and companies to supply sheets & towels for short-term vacation rentals, so we at least like to give our guests the option to add on linens through us to help enhance your vacation. We have to charge for the sheets & towels, since we get them freshly delivered from our local linen supplier and have a base cost associated from our supplier for the linens. Furthermore, we like to give you the option to add on beach chairs and umbrellas to help enhance your trip, and again we have a cost associated with these items from our rental supplier. As for you having to clean up during your stay, we have the property professionally cleaned before your arrival and after your departure. If you’d like the property cleaned additionally during your stay, then this is an optional add-on service that we offer. Please understand that we do not provide hotel style cleaning & linen service throughout the duration of your stay. You had asked for compensation after your departure, and we got back to you right away saying that we would just need to check with the owner first about this. However, prior to us having a chance to talk with the owner about the compensation, you unfortunately left a misleading and inaccurate review that is a misrepresentation of the property and the high level of service that provide to our guests. The owners have an extremely high standard for the property and keep it in terrific condition. We also provide great service to our guests, and it’s very disappointing to see a review be so misleading and inaccurate for potential guests who are considering staying here in the future.

Hi Robin, Thank you very much for the positives that you mentioned about our responsiveness and going above & beyond to make sure your stay was great. We also would like to address a few of your comments from the review. Having a professional quality cleaning is very important to us, and when you mentioned some of the downstairs flooring was sticky and that there were a couple crayons downstairs, we had another cleaner come back as soon as possible for these two items. As for the pool, we get it serviced once per week, and right after your arrival we had a team member bring over a vacuum for the pool & provided you with instructions on how to use this throughout your trip. When you let us know the garbage disposal wasn’t working, we brought this up to our maintenance team and had someone come to the property that same day. Since our maintenance team was not able to fix the garbage disposal, we called our plumber right away. He went there to install the new garbage disposal, but when he arrived at the property, he realized there was an electrical issue connected to the garbage disposal, so we contacted a few electricians, and unfortunately they weren’t able to come during your stay. Our team always tries handling any sort of issue or inconvenience as soon as possible, and we apologize that we were not able to get the garbage disposal working during your stay. Hi Isabela, Thank you very much for the 5 star review. While we greatly appreciate your 5 star review, we also want to address a few of your comments. The pool was just filled a few days prior to your arrival, and the pump had also been recently installed. The pool itself was clean, although the plaster was stained due to some renovations that were recently done, so this is why the pool may have initially appeared a little dirty to you. We addressed your concern about the pool right away on the Friday you arrived. We refunded you $1,000 for your first night there, delivered a new pool skimmer to you shortly after your arrival, and we offered to extend your stay from the 10:00am check-out on Monday until 6:00pm free of charge, so this way you could enjoy an extra day in the heated pool. We worked very hard to ensure the heater was working during your stay. We were told that our pool company was fixing the heater on Saturday morning, and while they were not able to fix the heater on Saturday, we were able to get this fixed for you on Sunday morning. While we’re very sorry the pool heater didn’t work for you on Friday evening and Saturday, we did everything we could to get the heater working as soon as possible. As for the exterior cameras in the backyard, we mentioned to you during your stay that the cameras were not turned on. The owners had them installed for security purposes, but the cameras were not active during your stay, which we mentioned to you on the phone. The owners said they're going to have the cameras removed in the backyard, so this way it’s not an issue for future guests. We also want to mention that in addition to the toilet paper, all of our welcome bags have a starter role of paper towels for you.
