White Oak Point | Two Historic, Lakefront Cabins on Lake Lure
The Lake Lure area is moving forward with a clear path toward renewal and reopening. The Town of Lake Lure has announced an official target date to fully reopen the lake for the 2026 summer season, beginning May 1, 2026, and restoration efforts are actively underway with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers following Hurricane Helene in October 2024.
Until then, the magic of Lake Lure extends far beyond the water. Guests continue to enjoy breathtaking mountain views, charming local restaurants, award-winning vineyards, scenic hiking trails, championship golf at Rumbling Bald, and the world-class Tryon Equestrian Center—just 25 minutes away.

Home 1: Russell's Fort at White Oak Point (1775)
A true showstopper—an authentic Revolutionary War-era fort built in 1775 with original hand-hewn logs, disassembled and restored (as seen on Barnwood Builders). The renovation adds modern comforts and updated technology while preserving the home's historic character. This 3-story fort includes 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, plus its own private hot tub and sauna.
Home 2: The Cabin at White Oak Point (1930s)
Just steps away, this classic 1930s cabin features original period hardwood floors and warm mountain-lake style. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, it's ideal for added privacy—great for grandparents, couples, or a quieter wing of the group. The cabin also includes its own private hot tub and sauna.
Lakefront Outdoor Living
With hundreds of feet of lake frontage and generous deck space across the property, your group will have plenty of room to relax in the sun, dine outdoors, and take in the water views. Enjoy time on the lake with the included kayaks and stand-up paddleboards—so everyone has a way to get out on the water.
