Upon check-in there was minor dirt like sand and a few chip crumbs laying around the kitchen, a bit of hair in the bathroom, etc. The pool was extremely dirty (hair clumps, piles of sand, dirt floating). Lanai screen has several holes/gaps. I immediately contacted the host on the Saturday we checked in. She quickly responded saying that the pool was just cleaned Tuesday, and is cleaned mid-week, but she would see if they could come Monday. Monday/Tuesday came and went with no communication or cleaning of the pool. I messaged her at 7:30pm Tuesday to let her know the pool was still dirty. She didn’t respond until Wednesday afternoon when I inquired a 3rd time, and we also listed other issues we encountered. Her story then changed that it would be cleaned Friday, as they switched cleaning companies. We notified her about the filthy dishes/silverware in the cupboards. Food was plastered to some of the glasses, and everything had a gritty film. The dishwasher didn’t work, and made items dirtier. We had to wash every item before using. She never responded to this concern. Outdoor trash was overflowing from previous guests. The host corrected by providing a new can, and they eventually cleaned the pool themselves on Wednesday (over halfway through our trip). We mentioned the 2 roaches we encountered, and the 15+ ant/roach traps/bait. Host sprayed perimeter, and admitted to pest problem. We found 2 more roaches - so 4 total. Uncomfortable, stayed at parents house for 2 days.
