Over all the room was clean. The only complaint we really had was the neighbors were smoking and we could smell it through the vents in our room. We did air it out and the smell dissipated. Also the futon mattress needed to be replaced or have some kind of topper to cover it. Other than that you really can’t beat the value and the views this place offers. I’ll most likely stay there again.

It’s OK

We love to stay at Sunbird when we want a reasonable beachfront place. This unit however hasn’t been updated since it was built in the 80’s except for the flooring and appliances. It was clean and accommodating so I can’t complain.

The West Tower is under construction which was not an issue for us and thus the reduced rate. We were in the East Tower and we hope it is scheduled for renovation as well. The condo is in need of updating and I would have appreciated even more of a rate reduction due to such.

Hi Sherry, Thank you for this feedback. We do apologize that this vacation fell short of expectations. We can assure you this is not Southern's standard. We have voiced all concerns to our property management team and we will address these issues as we move forward. As you know these units are individually owned, however we are working with property owners to have units updated to guest satisfaction. We do hope you decide to stay with us in the future.

Checking in at the front desk was a breeze. However, on the way to the rental we received a text saying we needed to submit a bill with my name on it. We don't travel with old bills on hand, so we stopped at a Ford dealership to see if they could print an old invoice. They were too busy, but a second Ford dealer was able to help, and we successfully submitted a photo of the old invoice.Upon arrival, we took pictures of a broken vanity door, a bedroom cabinet door, and a stain or old paint bleed-through on the bathroom door. The A/C unit off the bedroom was so loud we could not sleep in that room. The following day, a maintenance man came to check the A/C and inspect the damaged door. He confirmed the A/C was indeed way too loud and noted that the damaged door had been repaired multiple times before, evident from the old screws and paint buildup on the screw heads from prior repairs.After sending the photos, we received a text requesting my wife's credit card front and back along with her license. I responded that I was not comfortable sending that information. The representative from Southern Vacation Rentals (the host) said they needed it in case of any damage during our stay. I explained that if any damage occurred, she could go through VRBO, as a card was already on file. She responded that if the information was not submitted, she would change the access code.It was not a pleasant experience and really put a damper on our vacation. I asked to have the owner contact us.
