Die private Villa bietet eine einzigartige Umgebung, die bei anderen Vermietern im Arenalsee nicht zu finden ist. Unser Anwesen befindet sich auf einem 20 Hektar großen privaten Anwesen, in dem keine anderen Häuser in Sicht sind. Von der Zufahrtsstraße zum See gehen Sie 15 Minuten zu Fuß den Hügel hinunter. Die Villa ist Teil eines Regenwald-Schutzgebiets, das über einen Quellbach zum See führt, Wanderwege im Dschungelkabinendach und eine Wasserkaskade, die durch die tropischen Gärten verläuft.
Das Haus ist ein 2-stöckiges Haus mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern, in dem bis zu 7 Gäste Platz finden. Vom Balkon, der Terrasse und jedem Zimmer haben Sie einen Blick auf den See. Die Master Suite im zweiten Stock verfügt über einen eigenen Eingang und einen Balkon. The property beautiful, lots of birds and wildlife. Nuevo Arenal was a close drive and lots of great food, especially Cafe Italia, some of the best Italian food we have ever had. Only downside to the property was no clear access to the lake (never found a path) and plunge pool was very cold and actually only about foot deep (so no real plunge). That all being said we would stay again as it is a great value and beautiful vistas of the lake.

The Villa was wonderful. The grounds were like a botanical garden. We saw wildlife, howler monkeys, toucans and numerous birds, from the patio! It's location was perfect. The proximity to adventures and local restaurants was ideal. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Villa! loved the views, birds, nature, beds and wonderful bathrooms, laundry and shower! I didn't read well enough to see there was no oven, so our first quick pick up was an oven lasagna from the frozen section. We ended up using the grill to bake it. It worked but we had some burnt ends :) Things are a little dated but everything was in working order. Some information should be updated. I don't think there is a way to the lake and the wellness path isn't really accessible without boots, walking sticks and an adventurous body. It makes a short path into jungle but stops with a barbed wire fence. Several houses nearby and one with barking dogs - albeit, not very much. We would definitely recommend to others. A bird lovers paradise for sure! We put out fruit and drew in lots of winged friends.

Beautiful grounds and great experience

The property is definitely on the rustic side but all the core amenities are there. The grounds are spectacular! Hiking trails in the back are amazing. There are stunning streams, large trees, and more. The area around the property is rugged and we encountered road closures due to mudslides. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience if you’re looking for a true rainforest and mountain getaway.

The villa has a great view of the lake and is extremely quiet. It’s secluded but still close to the main road and we felt like it was a safe area The directions provided by the owner are good but it is hard to find at night. The furniture, bedding and amenities are pretty old but we were not expecting 5 star. We loved Nuevo Arenal compared to the very touristy La Fortuna but there are of course more activities there. The property is absolutely stunning! There is wildlife galore on the property and you feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest. We had perfect weather and it was a little cooler but, if it wasn’t, the lack of air conditioning may have been rough! Love love loved this place and so did the whole group. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful gardens. Spent hours on balcony watching wildlife enjoying coffee in the morning and margaritas in afternoon. Everything you need is there at a reasonable price. Close to good restaurants (10 minutes) multitude of activities within 1 hours drive. Do not hesitate to rent this beautiful quiet home.

This house is a destination itself.

Loved the location and views. Check in and check out was easy. It's not next to the touristy towns, which is a good thing. Nice location for venturing into the local mountains. The upstairs flooring is loud downstairs, but not so bad when the downstairs bedroom door is closed. We really loved exporing the property all the way down to the lake. Thanks!

Private Paradise

We enjoyed our first visit to the Villa (and to Costa Rica) very much! All of the words used to describe this setting are so true--Private, paradise, beautiful tropical gardens...it is all of this and more! It truly was an escape from our hectic lives. It was so nice to just relax on the property some days and easy to drive to an excursion away from the Villa when we wanted. Horseback riding with Alex just up the road is awesome--we rode up the mountain side with incredible views. Alex's restaurant is very good also and it is so close--don't pass up his hand made cheese! The Villa is very well equipped with everything needed to enjoy meals there--the panini maker was great to have and dining on the patio during sunset was truly memorable! We definitely look forward to staying here again.

Our family truly enjoyed the beautiful grounds and location of Lake View Villa. We woke to howler monkeys every morning and our sons saw 3. We saw multiple birds including hummingbirds, toucans, aracaris, parrots, parakeets, bananaquits and many more. Grounds are well maintained, very peaceful and relaxing. The location is close to good restaurants and 2 small sized grocery stores (10-15 minutes) and within about an hour of other activities.

Beautiful Tropical Getaway

Just like everyone has stated, this property is beautiful. The property is very well maintained. It is like one big garden with lots of flowers and walking paths. The paths that go through the forest and also down to the lake are very enjoyable to walk along. The house was in great shape and had everything we needed. The house stayed cool with the windows open. We had 7 of us there and had plenty of room. We didn't have any issues at all and really enjoyed the place. I would not hesitate to go back there again.

Wonderful nature escape!

We had a wonderful stay, family of 5. We enjoyed the wellness walk and all of the beautiful landscaping and foliage that attracts the nature that surrounds you. Make sure you get to the 10 spot to enjoy the ancient tree. We loved having coffee on the deck around the master upstairs, watching birds of every color and type, we even saw toucan and green parrots in the tree. Has binoculars available also. Had everything we needed including bottled jugs of water when first getting to the property. The road is blacktopped getting there if you are coming from Liberia, take 1 and then 142, go down to Tilaran and then back up has best roads. Not as many restaurants open for dinner nearby, like in La Fortuna, but had good food. This place is a tropical escape you shouldn’t miss.

Beautiful Views, Tropical Forest Feel

We stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved it. The property grounds were beautifully vivid, and the layout allowed for superb viewing of the many bird species around. Inside, there was an upstairs and downstairs kitchen that came in very handy when we felt like cooking. The decor and vibe had a very relaxed, tropical feel, and the upstairs balcony was a neat way to see different views from the downstairs views. We also loved walking around on the short forest paths, where there were strawberry poison dart frogs and amazing plant life. The bird species were incredible, with toucans coming right up to the house. Finally, we appreciated that we felt safe and comfortable for our entire stay!

Paradise!

This was our first time to Costa Rica and we could not have been more blown away by this place! The house was spectacular and the surrounding rainforest where we could explore made the experience even more wonderful! We really enjoyed the dipping pool after spending the day exploring. The town of Nuevo Arenal was great! Very friendly people, great Sodas to eat at, and plentiful grocery stores. One note regarding the house, the upstairs and downstairs are not connected from the inside, only from the outside. With little kids, dad slept upstairs with a kid and mom was downstairs with the others. But this set up is great for families with older kids or two families vacationing together.

Nature Lovers' Paradise

The Villa was a wonderful place to stay for a relaxing week in nature. The birds were breathtaking. We heard howler monkeys every day and saw them several times. A very persistent coati was often attempting to pilfer the fruit from the birds. The grounds and paths are beautiful, but because of the rain we didn't have much opportunity to explore. However, the weather was warm, and the patio was dry, and the birds did not seem to mind the rain. They were always ready to put on a great show!

Special Spot in Nuevo Arenal

This home is special even though it poured most of our week there. We were told by several locals and neighbors that the torrential rain was unusual for January ( we thought we were going during the dry season). Luckily the house has several areas protected from the rain and we saw many dozens of incredible birds we had never seen in the U.S. Also had Coati wandering through the backyard.We highly recommend this home.One thing to know is that the roads closest to the house are very curvy and were fine when it wasn’t raining and foggy but were reluctant to go out when the rain was coming down. The Hotel Rana was super close , driving wise and the food and staff were great.They enjoyed sharing food with the birds and bringing them close so we could see them up close.

There are many day excursions and great outdoor adventure activities available in the nearby vicinity to be enjoyed if you decide to drag yourself away from the comfortable serene surrounding at the Lakeview Villa. It is one hour drive to La Fortuna which is a warmer tropical climate and a busy central tourist hub. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Arenal Volcano, climb Cerro Chato the dormant volcano, swim in the pool created by the spectacular La Fortuna waterfall, go rafting in the rivers, ride the zip lines or relax in the hot thermal volcanic springs of Tabacon or Baldi Springs. It’s nice to be close to the activities and yet be able to return to the Villa for an escape to the quiet and cooler private rainforest property as you rest and relax after your excursions.
Traveling west around the lake you can venture to Hotel Tiwala where you can rent equipment for wind surfing which is reputed as one of the best in the world. Further on you can also visit Tilaran and Viento Fresco Falls on the drive to Monteverde which is the most famous Rainforests in Costa Rica. During certain seasons the Quetzal bird can be spotted with its iridescent green and red color and hummingbirds are always abundant in the cloud forest. If you do go to Monteverde be sure to visit Selvatoura butterfly gardens and the zip line adventure which is one of the longest in Costa Rica. This Canopy Tour has 15 cables and 18 platforms and you definitely zip through the canopy. There are also many beaches about 1.5 hours from the house going toward Liberia where you can enjoy the warm waters and surf.

This is one of the few rental properties that has direct Lake Arenal access with just a few minutes walk to the lakeshore from the house. On occasion the howler monkey troop will choose the trees or canopy near the house to have breakfast or dinner. There can be up to 20 of various sizes as they circulate through the 40 acre estate.
Some days it is great just to relax and enjoy morning coffee on the veranda, spend hours in the rainforest following the extensive hiking trails and the flowing stream down to the lake, enjoying the waterfalls and swimming in the natural pools of spring water.
