Cozy Lakefront Cottage with spectacular views!

Enjoy beautiful Lake Independence 25-30 miles NW of Marquette, MI with a 3-bedroom lake cottage right on the southside of the lake with a sandy beach and dock. Pontoon not included, but there is an open boat slip on our dock (mid-June through mid-October). 2 kayaks are included.

Some of the best UTV, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and skiing trails along with backcountry snowmobiling in the U.P. are right in your backdoor. Fish for walleye, perch, pike, and bass on Lake Independence in the summer or winter!

Fall 2023 Update: We've widened the driveway of N3324 so there is plenty of room for snowmobile trailers, along with additional parking. We've also purchased the empty lot next door so there is even more room for parking.

Secluded yet close to the action

Great communication with the host. The paddle boards and inflatable raft were enjoyed! We enjoyed the secluded spot close to all the great hiking spots and to Marquette.

A Very Relaxing Get Away

Big Bay!!

This is perfect, very well stocked, all cooking utensils, good working grill and the list goes on and on. Lake independence is huge, amazingly quiet. We saw loons, eagles, hummingbirds, redstarts and more. Stay here if you want to be way up in UP.

Short stay for my sons wedding

My son got married in the area and we booked the cabin to stay at. It was incredibly close to all of the wedding festivities which was great! We were pleasantly surprised with the views and coziness of the cabin. I would highly recommend staying here as it looked like it have everything for a family to enjoy a week of fun. Given the nature of our trip we really weren’t able to spend much time there but the time we did spend at the cabin was very enjoyable.

Great Cottage!

Excellent location and views. Cottage has modern amenities such as central AC and heat. Nice decorated and very comfortable with large bathroom and a/d. Kitchen and bathroom both extremely well stocked. Loved having use of two kayaks and the fire pit, although we didn't use, is a great bonus. We enjoyed our usual Big Bay Area activities and hope to be return guests. Lee, the host, responded very quickly to questions and is extremely friendly and professional as a VRBO host. Thank you!
