Nicely Renovated Villa With Perfect Unobstructed Views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I visit Palm Island Resort almost every year and have stayed in several different villa units. This one is definitely one of our top 3. The owners have done a nice job renovating most of the villa. It's very comfortable and clean with beautiful finishes and details in a coastal farmhouse type feel. The bathrooms are still in need of some updating but they are still in clean condition. We wished that the dining room table sat 6 instead of 4, as we hosted a few dinners with our other family members that were staying in a different villa. There were 5 dining chairs but no way did 5 fit around that small round table. It looked like the table would extend larger to an oval with a leaf attachment but we couldn't find it. For us personally, we feel the only downside to this villa is it's location on the top floor of the building only because it doesn't have a stairway exiting the screenroom like the lower level villa units do. We bring a big wheeled beach cart, wheeled cooler and a large, very heavy paddleboard with us and trying to get those down the front winding stairway is really difficult. We also like the units with the back screenroom stairway for quicker access to the beach instead of always going out the front door. But for families that don't have bulky beach items, they will most likely love this villa and the lack of stairs out the back won't be a downside at all. One other nice thing to note is that there's a ramped wood beach access right by this particular building unit which did make it easier to lug all of our heavy beach gear to the beach. Some of the beach accesses near the other buildings have stairs, not ramps. Also good to note is that this villa's building is very close (almost across the street) to Rum Bay Restaurant and Coconuts making it very convenient! Overall this villa unit is really comfortable and one of the best 2 bedroom units at the resort.

The restaurant food was amazing. We did learn a few things that we can pass on for others going to the island. The golf carts get pretty damp so bring something to cover them as night falls so you wont sit on a wet seat. My wife got bitten by sand fleas pretty bad, so if you are going to the beach, be prepared. Overall great experience, very clean, very relaxing.

That said, the cooktop was broken upon arrival so the front desk staff said they would credit us $50 per night which they did. However, that forced us to eat out wed and thur night and thur and Friday morning. There were 4 of us. We spent far more money on those meals than $100. I Donā€™t feel like that was a fair compromise. Also, the office staff was quite rude when dealing w them. I have been coming here for 30 years. Customer service has gone downhill tremendously. So sad
