Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live 2 hours north in Safety Harbor so understand that the resort and all the amenities are still under reconstruction. Missed having a pool but was not a dealbreaker. If no water can be provided to wash your feet, a tub should be provided so you can fill it with water and at least clean the sand off your feet. Could also provide more dish towels, potholders and a broom and dust pan. We will definitely be back as we've been coming here for 35+ years!! Love Palm Island.

It was the most relaxing week, the beach is beautiful, the sunsets are extraordinary, the resort staff makes your stay extremely comfortable. It is a beautiful resort....if you are looking for relaxation look no further this is the place!

My girlfriend has been coming there for 10 years but this was my first time. She was slightly disappointed with our room, saying it was more outdated than some of the others she has stayed in not to mention the entire room along with the furniture smelled like cigerette smoke. Other than that the stay was fantastic. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

We were on the island for five days and it was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The beach is never crowded, but during our stay we enjoyed having it almost completely to ourselves on weekdays. The weather was great, with only the expected amount of rain, and mostly gorgeous sunny days with highs in the eighties. The property we rented for this stay was up to the usual high standards we expect when we stay at Palm Island, and the staff were friendly and helpful, again, as always. We love visiting Palm Island and will be back again!

It was a beautiful, restful resort between Ft. Myers and Venice near Part Charlotte we enjoyed our beautiful condo, the shell-laden beach, the fitness center, and the activities that were available. Had a great time kayaking the mangrove trail with Kris who was very knowledgeable about the history, animals and the ecosystem of this true barrier island. We will be back!

The resort property is beautiful, great activities available, beach unbeatable. Rum Bay Restaurant is consistently good, and very reasonably priced. We have been to Palm Island Resort multiple times and always have a wonderful time. The only reason we are not giving our stay this time all '5 stars' is that the 1-bedroom unit we were in is just 'worn out'. It is looking shabby, especially the bathroom. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the plates on the knobs of the sink, tub/shower all fell off, the sink faucet was almost impossible to pull up/on. The bathroom just has a very dated, worn out look to it. The bed mattress sags in the middle. The unit just 'needs a facelift'. That said, everything was certainly clean, but the shabbiness in the bathroom made it feel 'kinda gross'. We had a great time, despite these few things!! We highly recommend Palm Island Resort!!!
