Beautiful Home & Best view of the sunset

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dos Vistas. We had a group of 5 singles who all wanted our own rooms, and this house was a perfect fit. The house is beautiful and the views for sunset are the best in Playa Hermosa. The house offers plenty of common space and a great set up with the 5 bedrooms with en suite baths which allowed us space for alone time. We enjoyed the local bars and restaurants, particularly the Pescado Loco and Roberto's. We booked a zip lining tour through the property managers (Zindis) with Tico Tours and we had an amazing day. The local grocery store was very convenient for anything we forgot to purchase on our trip to the large store in Coco. Everyone associated with the house from the on site care takers to the property management group went out of their way to make our stay special. It was the dry season, so we did have a few minor issues with water availability, but they were very short (under an hour), and not too big an inconvenience. The wildlife we saw on the property was very neat, and the view of the stars at night was beautiful. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Make sure to try the pineapples & avacados - both were amazing!

Beautiful Property, Pool, AMAZING VIEWS!! and Enjoyable Stay

The property is located in such a nice area. Its close to downtown restaurants, mini mart, supermarket, etc. There were a few items that we were unaware of before we got there. The one bedroom is only accessible via leaving the house (the one with the butterfly wall), which wasn't good for us with kids so we didn't use that room. The listing didn't say that room is only accessible via an outside spiral stairwell or if you walk through the master bedroom. The house furniture was beach ready and comfortable. Lots of linens and pool and bath towels. We used the washer and dryer often and they were great! The TV in the main area was very small - during our stay maybe 20 inches, which we would have preferred a larger main living area TV. Streamed Netflix etc well and good wifi. The TV in our master didn't work but we didn't try to hard; as we weren't there to hang int he bedroom with such an amazing view downstairs. The house came with hand soap, shampoo and conditioner in each bathroom which as an American you would think means you can use it and not pay - that wasn't the case and wasn't communicated but the management company, but they reimbursed us the $300+ dollar they charges us for the soap after we left. Overall great stay, the management co., housekeeping, lawn care, and security guards were all wonderful. PS buy the Secuirty guards pizza they love it :)

FABULOUS place BUT you should BE AWARE

This vacation home was AMAZING!! From the booking to the check-in, everything went smooth. The home was better than pictures and ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS! The pool was clean as well as the grounds. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked great and so did the Wi-Fi. Some bathrooms the hot water took forever to heat up but this was to be expected in a huge home in Costa Rica. July was the perfect time to go here, the weather ( sunny all week) was great and no crowds. The only issue we had, and it was a BIG ONE, we were BURGLARIZED on our third night there while we were sleeping. The burglar was caught by our 18 year old son in his downstairs bedroom after he had already stolen stuff from the home and our other child's downstairs bedroom.. Our oldest son got him in mid act with a flashlight on his phone at 3:30am. These thieves took more than $5,000 of our personal belongings and several items from the home including the TV, blender and almost off of our food we purchased the at the local grocery store. Luckily for us they left the passport of our youngest child by the pool. And before you think to yourselves -YES, we made sure the entire home was locked and tight at night. They pried open the back sliding glass door from the hinges and escaped under the metal fence down the steep hill behind the home. They had cut barb wire to get up the hill and under our gate. This home is in a gated community with security guards on site and we were told the owner has declined several times to have a home alarm system installed. Hopefully this review will now steer him this way and prevent anyone else from the suffering we experienced. We brought our 4 children to Costa Rica thinking they would all have their own bedrooms/bathrooms but we ended up having all of us locked in an upstairs bedroom at night so we could have peace of mind while sleeping. The property manager at Zindis, Marsha, went above and beyond to help us file a police report and get the door fixed while we were there. Overall we had an amazing time and we didn't let this ordeal stop us from having the best family vacation. However, we book our vacation homes from the reviews of others and we feel people should know this happened to us in this home. Lock it up TIGHT (like we did ) and hopefully they will have an alarm before you get there.

We as owners of the property are very disappointed with the reported break in and the burglary. We stay in the home 3 times a year ourselves and want it to be secure and safe for all who visit. We will be onsite in a week to over see the installation of a security system with door alarms, motion detectors, sirens, and the ability to contact the local security company responsible for the homes in Palo Alto. (If cameras in the shared areas of the home make sense and will not interfere with guest privacy, we will be looking at that as well). We are grateful for the honest report from the renters involved. We are doing all we can to protect the property and guests.

Abundance

We had a great 2 week stay. The house is enormous. The 5 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, desk area, balcony, comfortable beds and great views were top rate. The kitchen is well appointed and the common areas are full of windows looking out onto the waters of Playa Hermosa. There were an abundance of towels and beach chairs/floats. We drove to several nearby coves/beaches but Playa Hermosa was only a short walk and in addition to the beach, had assorted restaurants and bars as well as a convenience store. An added bonus was that arrival necessities were already in the house - toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, garbage bags, coffee filters etc. - all stuff you can't live without but sometimes have to go fetch when you arrive. All very well managed.

Beautiful Home!

Loved the location and views of this wonderful home. My family had a wonderful stay we enjoyed a catamaran trip and playing on the beach. We enjoyed seeing monkeys in zip lining and eating at the lazy town of playa Hermosa. Thanks to the attention of the sweet management for all your help arranging activities!

Amazing house, amazing view!!!!

This was the PERFECT house for our blended family of seven adults! The views are beyond phenomenal, the infinity pool is clean and refreshing, the house is gorgeous and extremely well kept. We had everything we needed there.....including beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler bag.....and all the kitchen appliances, pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups, glasses, etc. that you will need. And did I mention the views??!! We had excursions daily, but it was so nice to come home to this lovely property and watch the beautiful sunsets every evening. Zindis was very easy to work with, and the house manager Gus was very responsive to questions and phone calls, and informative about the surrounding area and where to eat, shop, etc. The house is gated, and also in a gated community with a 24 hour security guard, so we always felt safe. Not that we needed to, as Playa Hermosa seems to be a safe area, and the locals are all very friendly and helpful. Although most excursions seem far away, they are really not too bad to commute to. Diving was 10 minutes away in Playa del Cocos, hiking to La Leona waterfall was only an hour away, white water rafting Class III and IV rapids was an hour away. We did go to Monteverde for waterfall rappellilng (canyoning) and that was a 2.5 hour drive, but definitely worth it. And if you're in that area, Kapi Kapi restaurant is a MUST! Amazing food and family owned, it was by far the best meal we had in Costa Rica. Look no further than this property.....you will NOT regret staying here. Did I mention the views???

Great space! Beautiful sunsets.

We rented this beautiful property with our adult children. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom ensuite. The common areas were well thought out and the pool area was perfect for our sunset drinks. Each day we visited a different beach with a picnic lunch. For big waves we drove about 40 minutes to Playa Cabuyal. We visited Playa Panama twice and enjoyed a cold beer before going home at Hacienda Blu. Being so close to the airport was plus, about 20 minutes. After a long day of travel, it was nice to get to the house quickly. The staff with Zindis Group were all very helpful and nice. Ian helped us arrange our sunset sailboat excursion (which was a great time!) and Gus was great with our transportation needs. It was a perfect holiday. Thank you!

Stunning sunset views!

Our group of 10 (five couples) stayed 4 nights at Dos Vistas. We spent most of our time at the house relaxing on the back patio and in the pool. The view is truly stunning. There are beautiful birds in the trees and poolside throughout the day and evening. The pool was big enough to accommodate our group and offered maybe the best view on the property. The backyard was visited by the occasional raccoon-like coati and even an armadillo. We heard howler monkeys early in the mornings. There was always a nice breeze up on that hillside. The house had almost everything we needed including a well equipped kitchen. They could us a pool skimmer so you could more easily scoop out all the leaves and flowers out of the pool daily. The only complaint we all shared was the rock hard beds and pillows. If you like a firm mattress and overstuffed pillows, you’ll love it. We would recommend they put some plush mattress toppers and softer pillows on each bed so guests can get a more comfortable night of sleep to truly enjoy their stay in this paradise. Also, we think one of the beds seemed to be full size, not queen size. You will need a rental car, which we had, to explore the area. The hill up/down into town and beach is likely way too steep for most folks to walk it. It was pretty easy to find our way around. The Waze app is much more reliable here than Google maps. Also, WhatsApp is a must for faster communication with staff here. They were helpful in arranging a Valentine’s Day afternoon snorkel and sunset dinner catamaran cruise with Tico Tours that our whole group enjoyed. I would recommend this home for friends or family traveling together. Enjoy the stunning sunsets! Pura Vida!

Beautiful House with Beautiful Views

I stayed here with my 5 adult children and their 3 spouses to celebrate my 60th birthday. The house was immaculate and was well stocked with all the essentials. I didn’t even need to break into the toilet paper and paper towels I had bought. You can definitely tell this is someone’s home they are graciously sharing with others. The pool was very clean and the temperature refreshing… watch out for the wet tile though! The view is amazing! The patio was our favorite place to watch the sunset. Many lower locations you cannot see the full sunset. I know some viewers mentioned the driveway. It is steep but our 2 wheel drive had no problem going up the hill and there is plenty of flat space at the top for multiple cars and turning around. My deepest apologies to the owners for our few mishaps that occurred during our stay. We really appreciated the time at your beautiful house. Hopefully we will be welcomed to stay again. :) You will not regret booking this house for your vacation!

A perfect place for a group vacation!

This home was perfect for our family Christmas this year. The rooms are spacious and all have beautiful views except one that is a garden view but still lovely. The kitchen is spacious and great to cook in. Great laundry facilities with lots of towels provided for the beach. We had two children (5 and 2.5) and they provided high chairs for us and great pool toys. There were 9 at our turkey dinner on Christmas sitting at the big round table with a sunset in the backdrop. There is another table by the pool where we ate most often. We watched sunsets every night overlooking the valley and ocean, swimming in the pool and enjoying cocktails. Zindis group (Ian) was wonderfully responsive in helping us arrange anything we needed. We all really enjoyed the El Diamante and even enjoyed the buffet lunch there. Ian arranged for us to get Covid tests in the home which was so convenient and we had the house cleaned mid- vacation for a very reasonable cost. The ground crew did a great job in keeping the pool clean. We signed up for the catamaran cruise and realized too late that it was unsuitable for young children so half our group went back which was a waste of money and a big disappointment. You need a car to stay in this home and it is great to explore beaches and shop in the excellent grocery store in Coco (North American prices and more). This is a truly lovely home, well appointed and well managed. We couldn’t recommend it enough.

Gorgeous views from this spacious home

We loved our time as Dos Vistas! We are a family of six with a plus one: second generation ages range 18-29. The common area/kitchen was open with phenomenal views. The pool area was fantastic—most of our time was spent outside when we weren’t adventuring or dining. The pool was clean and perfect. The wildlife around the pool was great—howler monkeys could usually be heard, and occasionally seen. Green parrots squawked and pleasantly noisy gnatcatchers had nests in the poolside palms. A coati even ventured onto the pool deck right in front of us! There is plenty of seating around the pool area, floats, etc. All of the bedrooms are well appointed with comfy beds, ceiling fans, and wall AC. Bathrooms are spacious and beautiful. Great set up to give everyone privacy when needed. Kitchen was VERY well-stocked. We cooked several meals for our group and always had the pots and pans we needed, and a nice selection of plates/cups/bowls/glasses, including heavy plastic wine glasses for poolside. The only issue was not all of the gas stove burners were functional on our visit, but we alerted the house manager, so I am sure they will remedy that issue. We used those burners and the outside grill and we were fine. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and well kept. We loved the intimacy of Playa Hermosa. You barely ever notice you have neighbors. We did drive to the beach/to dine, because the steep hill up to the house was daunting. We enjoyed Soda Hermosa, Ginger, and Aquasport, and all three were delightful. Zindis concierge, Ian, and house manager, Gus, were helpful and responsive, arranging for airport transfers, Covid tests, a wildly successful fishing trip with Go South Adventures, keys to/questions about the property. We weren’t always sure about who handled what, but they kindly helped us navigate it all. The view. I could go on for days about the view. We were mesmerized by this little slice of heaven. I’m probably making it my laptop screen saver—it’s just that beautiful.

They view was amazing! Each room with its own bathroom was so convenient when traveling with a group! The walk up and down the hill is exhausting. We would suggest renting a car. We loved the vibe, the excursion opportunities and the views of Costa Rica!

For anyone wanting to enjoy a peaceful and memorable vacation this is the place. Beaches were not crowded and had a personable feel to it. The house was amazing. 5 couples and everyone enjoyed there rooms.we hung out at the pool each night and had a blast. Only thing was the stereo had a great sound system we could not use due to stations not being picked up and stereo not having a cord that works with phone to play music through surround sound. Would have enjoyed this. However overall the place was great. We used the kitchen a lot and BBQ grill outside.. visited coco beach and shops 10 min away and the excursions were a blast. Did some deep sea fishing and had a blast as well. The place is pricey but between 5 couples it worked out just right;)

Dos Vistas Resort !!

We chose this house because it would sleep 10 people and each of the 5 bedrooms had its own bathroom. It turned out to be better than we expected. The double security gates made us feel very safe and the Zingis staff was great. We spent many hours in the infinity pool overlooking Playa Hermosa ( which was " beautiful " ). Because of this home, we love Costa Rica now!

Awesome Views

The location was private with awesome views from the back veranda as well as the various covered decks off the bedrooms. The layout was perfect for each couple to enjoy our privacy while providing social time in the shared kitchen, dining and living areas. We found everything functional and the kitchen well equipped for our cooking/dining needs. The only suggestion we would offer would be to upgrade the size of the main living area television and consider adding televisions to the two upstairs bedroom suites. The local towns of El Coco, Playa Panama and Playa Hermosa offered convenient grocery shopping and dining to fit most everyone's tastes and budgets. We found the Abbocato restaurant in Playa Panama to be of an exceptional dining experience.

Beautiful House, Amazing Views...Felt like Home

Four couples (approx ages 60-70) were on this trip & the house was chosen by one individual with approval from the rest. As we all know, the very best pictures are in the ad for the house & they were pretty accurate. There were little things that needed updating but we know going into a rental house, other visitors may not take care of the house like we would. Pros: The house is huge & well decorated. The outdoor space is unbelievable with a view you never get tired of looking at. It's in a gated community & the house itself is also gated. We all felt safe and secure. The location of the house with proximity to stores, beaches, & other tourist attractions is perfect & it's about 30 minutes to the airport. The open concept of the house makes it comfortable for many people. The landscaping is tropical & well maintained. Beach towels were provided & they were plentiful. Having a washer / dryer was also a plus. We would all stay here again without hesitation. Cons: Bugs. We were told that they spray once a month but since we were there during the dry season, our outdoor friends were looking for cooler accommodations, food & water. The water in CR is hard & some attention to the shower heads & faucets is a must. They are very corroded & very little spray comes out. The soap dispenser by the kitchen sink is broke & kept falling off. Several of us are cooks / bakers & the utensils are basic & all the knives are very dull. When we went to the store I picked up a couple of utensils I needed & left them there. Weatherstripping should be added to all exteriors doors because bugs come through the gaps. Various throw rugs in the house are very worn & appeared to be dirty. Curtains in one bathroom had holes. Another bathroom had various small brown stains on the wall. Finally: We'd stay here again. Some minor & inexpensive updates (throw rugs, new curtains, paint) would put this amazing house in perfect shape. The caretakers live in a small house on the property & were quick to respond to one request. One night we hired a chef to prepare our dinner & it was outstanding in taste & presentation. We had no issues with communication anywhere. The local people were VERY friendly & helpful. If you need some downtime, amazing views, friendly people, & a fabulous place to share with family / friends, we all highly recommend Dos Vistas...you will not be disappointed. Incredibly beautiful views in a large and lovely Playa Hermosa home

We could not have been happier with our views and the amount of space we had in this beautiful gated community home. The owners are dividing the largest master to create a 5th bedroom which was not available at the time we were there, but that was not a problem and the master is still quite large. We were entertained by the birds and butterflies regularly drinking from the pool and large iguanas sunning on the deck. We even had a coati visit the yard. The house is not within easy walking distance of the beach, as it is about a mile away and up a very steep incline, but the location is nice and we enjoyed the quiet beaches at Playa Hermosa and Ocotal and Panama for swimming, sailing, snorkeling and fishing. We were less fond of the busy Del Coco Playa, but the town provided a good place for buying groceries. We did walk/run in the neighborhood daily and got a workout from the steep roads. We cooked several meals in the house and also brought a chef in to cook one night. (We highly recommend the personal chef option. We had an incredible meal for 4 for less than $40 per person.). We are giving a 4 star rating rather than 5 because of some disappointment in kitchen supplies and appliances. There was no dish washing detergent, very few glasses, and only a half of teaspoon of salt, no pepper or other seasonings or staples and overall pots and pans were of a much lesser quality than we'd normally use - as in much scuffed non-stick aluminum pots and pans, a blender that struggled to blend mangos and bananas and dusty placemats. However, the house is lovely, the location and price is good and the people attending were excellent.
