Before booking, please see our note below regarding the AWD/4WD requirement and driveway access.
Skylark offers a relaxing place to stay & gather with loads of amenities, and is close to many surrounding towns & activities. Skykark is in Valle Crucis, about 5 minutes to the original Mast General Store, 10 minutes from Boone, 20 minutes from Banner Elk & Blowing Rock.
The cabin-style home features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms & a livable loft: two king sized beds (one on the lower level which is a separated and private space located off of the garage and the other king bed is located in the private bedroom located off of the loft area), one queen (main level), and a twin daybed/trundle bed (loft) that can become a king. All bedrooms have easy access to the full bathrooms, have TVs and ample charging stations for electronic devices.
The home is thoughtfully designed to maximize space, comfort & natural light, while 2 levels of large porches with rocking chairs offer time to enjoy the surrounding trees & sounds.
The main living area has an open floor plan with plenty of seating, a gas log fireplace and TV.
The kitchen has granite countertops, an island with a cooktop, and SS appliances - all adjacent to a 6-seat dining table to enjoy meals together. The kitchen is conveniently stocked with coffee makers (Keurig & drip), toaster, toaster oven and cookware + utensils to make meal prep easy. A covered area gas grill is also on-site.
Ready to relax? A screened-in porch just off the main-level kitchen has a spacious hot tub for long soaks. Take a walk outside & enjoy the large fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs for a nights of s'mores and storytelling.
Skylark is accessible from both the bottom level and the main level. The bottom level has a washer/dryer and extra refrigerator for your convenience.
- ATTENTION: This cabin is located at the top of Miller's Mountain Trail which is a private, gravel road. AWD or 4WD is required year-round to access the home. You will not be able to reach the home without the proper vehicle; guests who attempt this will be charged for repairs to the road. Also parking is limited to 4 spaces at the cabin, you are not allowed to park at the other homes located on the road and may be towed.
- Skylark is about 5 minutes from the original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, 10 minutes from Boone, 20 minutes to Banner Elk.
- This home is dog friendly with a fee of $25 per day. Only 1 dog allowed per reservation.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
