Fun fun Five Bedroom for couples or family
Enjoy a resort type visit when you stay in this unique place. Heatable swimming pool, hot tub, pool table, ping pong, exercise pole, karaoke, Workout Room, Massage Room, Music Room, private back yard. Never far from one of 15 TVs. In addition to 2 dedicated bedrooms, conversions to Music Room and Massage Room contain comfortable queen and twin futons, respectively. Large Sun Room, overlooking pool, contains a queen futon bunk bed, with a basketball goal and a Polar Express theme. Molly the cat will let herself in and out and will be your friend. No up front charge for cleaning or pet fee, although the entire house is professionally cleaned before each stay.

The space
5 bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood. Centrally located to everything San Antonio has to offer. Ten minutes from the airport. 17 miles from each downtown and Fiesta Texas. Three of the 5 bedrooms have been converted into: a Workout Room, a Music Room and a Massage Room. But two of these three rooms have comfortable futons. Additionally there is a queen bunkbed with a basketball goal and a Polar Express theme in the large Sun Room, with external stairway to access the pool.

Almost everyone who stays here says two things in the Guestbook or in the Reviews. That they wish they had stayed longer to enjoy the many amenities. And they say this place is like no other place they've stayed. This is still my primary home. I recently bought a small ranch two hours away. My only son has moved out. I enjoy giving people the opportunity to enjoy this fun place I've created, while I'm at the Ranch, just as my son and his friends have. This place is all ours, with the exception of one member of my family being here, Molly the Cat. Everyone loves her.
I treat this listing as if I've asked a friend to stay at my house while I'm away. You are welcome to anything you see in unlocked cupboards, drawers and refrigerators. I only ask that you take no more than you need while you're here. Travel sized toiletries, other necessities, snacks, drinks--non-alcoholic except for an occasional bottle of beer or wine left by a previous guest. I take pride in guests telling me that they never had to run out to the store for things they forgot to bring. There are two computers and a wireless printer available for guest use. You are welcome to use my guitars and electric piano, any of several stereos and entertainment systems. Bring your own video game systems, because I've made it easy for you to hook them up, in any of 3 different locations, to an amazing sound system and large screen TV's.
In the past few months, I've invested a lot in the property to help ensure my guests don't encounter anything breaking down. I've replaced both of the Heating/AC units. I've replaced the hot water heater and water softener. I've completely redone the pool. It has a new surface. All of the pool equipment is new, now much easier for you to work the hot tub. And I can control most pool operations remotely, if you want me to. In cooler weather, I will ensure that the pool is at 85 degrees, at no additional charge, for stays of two nights or more.
One more thing. Most guests say they are amazed by my collection of memorabilia. You will feel like you have gotten to know me. I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Welcome to my home. Many People have suggested I refer to my home as my bachelor pad. During your stay, you will probably notice that my emphasis has been on substance rather than style. I have resisted expensive furniture and art, in favor of making the place functional and fun (LOL). I realized we wouldn’t get much use out of a Dining Room, so I turned it into my study & man cave, the room in which I spend most of my time. With only one child, a son, we didn’t need all 5 bedrooms as sleeping rooms. So I turned one into a workout room and another into a Music Room, with a futon that makes it double as a sleeping room when needed. After my son moved out I turned his bedroom into a massage room, again with a futon for sleeping when needed.
Originally from Ohio, I moved to Texas from Minnesota at the end of 1994. My son was 6 years old. My goal was to find a house that would be a fun place, a favorite place to be for my son and his friends. I couldn’t afford a house that was everything I’d envisioned. So I bought a house with the potential. I became quite a handy man, spending hundreds of hours in evenings and on weekends turning it into a fun place. When my son got married several years ago, he had six of his best friends as his groomsmen. As I sat in the front row during the ceremony, I realized that I had watched all six of these kids, now successful young men, grow up in my house.

I’m a huge sports fan. I’ve been commissioner of a fantasy football league since 1985, well before the internet. I wrote my own rules and created a computer program for tracking. I frequently have people over to watch football. I’ve been to many major sporting events. One of my hobbies is to see a baseball game at every major league ballpark. I’ve been to all of the ones currently in existence with the exception of the two newest ones. I’ve seen a game at 49 different major league ballparks overall. My biggest sports allegiances are the Cincinnati Reds for Baseball, San Antonio Spurs for Basketball, and, most of all, the Ohio State Buckeyes for college football. I’m also a big fan of classic rock music as well as American history, especially anything having to do with presidents or the Civil War.
This home is still my primary residence. If you are staying here, it means I’m probably spending time at my ranch approximately two hours away. Since my retirement in 2020, the ranch has become my new project.

The property is in a perfect central location to enjoy all of the many places of interest in San Antonio (SA). There are 3 freeways that pass through downtown. The central one is highway 281 aka I 37. The property is in north central SA, just over 1 mile east of 281. The airport is just off of 281, approximately halfway between the property and downtown. It's 17 miles from the property to downtown SA, with the Riverwalk, Alamo, etc. The property is 1 mile south of loop 1604. Many of the attractions that aren't in downtown are off of 1604. The property is 13 miles from Six Flags Fiesta Texas and 25 miles from SeaWorld, both via 1604. The nicest restaurants in town are either in Downtown, in the Pearl district, on the way to downtown, or within a few miles of the property. 25 miles to Canyon Lake. 1 mile from McAllister Park, with the best hiking and biking trails in town. There is also a green belt in the neighborhood, 2 blocks from the property. 5 miles from Stone Oak with its medical complexes.
