Casa Sombrero-Paradise in Downtown Borrego Springs

Welcome to Casa Sombrero, a little slice of desert paradise. This 3 bed/2 bath desert oasis is located in walking distance of all of the downtown amenities of Borrego Springs including popular restaurants and Christmas Circle. Beautifully decorated with desert southwest decor, this comfortable retreat is awaiting your next desert gateway. Lounge with a beverage in your private patio while taking in the desert views. When the sun goes down, enjoy the cozy fire pit while gazing at the stars.

This newer built desert home has been very well maintained. The spacious layout of the home features high ceilings with an open concept living room/kitchen. For privacy, the main bedroom with king sized bed and en suite bathroom is located on one side of the home. 2 smaller bedrooms with queen sized beds are on the other side of the home. The beds feature hotel quality linens and cotton towels in the bathrooms. If workspace is needed, a desk with printer is located in one of the bedrooms along with WiFi that works throughout the house. In the living room there is a 50" TV with Dish Network. If you choose not to dine out, the kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and stocked with pots & pans, a rice cooker, pressure cooker, air fryer, toaster, blender, etc. There is also a BBQ for grilling and Keurig coffee maker.

Casa Sombrero is in the premier location in Borrego Springs. If you want to leave your car behind and walk around town, this place is for you. We are located behind the popular Red Ocotillo restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. For treasure hunters, The Bargain Barn, a seasonal thrift shop is also located behind the house. Carlee's is also a popular bar & restaurant with live music on the weekends. Christmas Circle offers a seasonal farmers market on Friday's and events throughout the year. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center is approximately 2 miles away. Rams Hill Golf Club is approximately 7 miles away.

The house was marvelous. And a very nice neighborhood close to downtown and restaurants not terribly far from the state Rangers headquarters to get information on hiking in the area, etc. A lovely stay indeed was our nine nights at Casa Sombrero. The only difficulty we had was, we were unable to work the electronic lock box that had the key. Fortunately, after we contacted the owner, there was a second lock box with a set of keys in it that was easy to get into within short walking distance was the red Ocotillo restaurant that served one of the best hamburgers I have ever had in my life, and I have eaten a lot of hamburgers. They even made it how I wanted it, rare. So in conclusion, I would recommend staying at Casa Sombrero!

The property was very well appointed, clean, well decorated, homie, comfortable, and relaxing to stay in. It would have been great if they had a little more firewood for the fire pit, but you can buy some literally 1 minute drive down the street at the gas station, so not a big deal.

We had a great stay at Ryan’s place, the best part about this place is the proximity to all the restaurants. You can be at the center of town in 10 minutes walking. Can’t wait to stay again.

Outstanding property in a great location

Two friends and I really enjoyed staying at this property. It was a beautiful home in a great location. The interior is nicely appointed Southwestern decor and it was spotlessly clean. Nothing was lacking, including wood for the firepit. We used the gas grill one night. The central location was ideal for serving as a basecamp for cycling and photography trips and it was minutes from all the restaurants. Thanks for a great experience.

Lovely mornings

This delightful, well-designed, very functional and beautiful house on the edge of Borrego Springs with a view of the mountains in the desert is so delightful in the morning as my sons brewed coffee in the very well outfitted kitchen. The host was very helpful when we had some difficulty with cell phone coverage and not being able to get the Sign in code. We definitely read this five stars.

Fabulous! Beyond my expectations!

This property is perfect. The location is ideal because you can walk to town in a matter of minutes. The house is nicely decorated and well equipped. The kitchen has everything and then some (things like cooking oil and plastic wrap etc.), and the pits and pans are high end and in excellent condition. The bathrooms have high end shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet paper (so many places have crappy toilet paper). The towels are high quality as well. The house was very clean. I have ZERO complaints about this house. I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Sombrero-Paradise. We used the patios on both sides of the house (south and north sides) to enjoy the sun and shade, depending on the time of day. It was centrally located and we walked to some good restaurants for dinner. The house was clean and spacious. The mattresses were firm and perfect. We were hoping for dark skies, but were thwarted by neighbors’ bright lights. The nearby highway discouraged us from keeping the screened windows open. Coffee supplies were also awesome.

Casa Sombrero is an oasis

The name fits the theme and decor and was the perfect place for my family to chill after a day of hiking. We were sad that we didn't use as many of the amenities provided as we were tuckered out by the end of the day.

A wonderful desert getaway

Celebrated Thanksgiving at Casa Sombrero - it was terrific. The kitchen is well equipped - perfect for cooking turkey day dinner. Really liked the open floorplan of the kitchen/dining/sitting areas. Desert views from every window. The location is ideal - less than 5 minute walk into town yet still provided the sense of open space. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
