The homes foundation is still original to the time and is known to have waving floors which may raise and fall throughout the seasons. With traditionally low ceilings at a height of six and half feet, most farm house builders knew that lower ceilings meant less space to heat in winter and, therefore, less wood chopping to fit into a day already bursting with physical activity.
