The home has a large private yard at the quiet end of Puako Beach Drive right across from Paniau Beach Park. The home being on the end of the street is next to open land the sounds of nature. It is all yours, no shared driveway or other guests on the property.



Paniau Surf has it ALL, a beautiful interior with a nice sized dinning area, living room with lots of seating, powerful split-unit ACs throughout the home, ample easy parking, yet super affordable - beach home across the street from Paniau Park, the only easy access surf and snorkel beach in Puako, attracting shore divers and snorkelers.



Puako is the only ocean front residential community on the Kohala Coast with large expansive homes and original beach cottages from the early 50`s side by side. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean and birdsong in the morning when you wake and walk across the street with your cup of coffee. Let the ocean take your cares away! A beachside trail starting across the street provides an easy hike to sandy beaches. Watch year round sunsets across the street and in the winter months, the whales will put a show on for you!



Paniau Surf Cottage, is now a modernized, private air-conditioned beach house. The master-bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a large walk in shower, two nice sized bedrooms each with their own AC and ceiling fans. Finishes in the home include granite counter tops and beautiful wood engineered flooring throughout. There is a full-sized bathroom with tub and shower and two sinks for the two bedrooms. A private outdoor garden shower that offers a warm shower under the stars or serves as a great alternative to wash off the day after playing in the sun. Prepare delicious food in the large, fully equipped, kitchen that boasts updated appliances and enjoy meals together, in the adjoining dining section or in the spacious living room area. Cozy up on the large cushy, new sectional sofa and watch a great movie in the living room on the flat screen TV or snuggle together. Enjoy the outdoors and ocean breezes in cozy furniture on the covered front lanai. Sun on the side patio lounge chairs, relax under the palm trees on a hammock or play in the warm sunshine on the large, surrounding yard with your kids. Pack up the family and head out into each day with the fully stocked beach amenities including snorkel gear, beach chairs and more. To close out your day of rest or exploring the wonders of the Big Island, walk over to the shoreline and enjoy some of the most incredible sunsets that Puako has to offer.



Paniau Surf is located directly across from Paniau park which has incredible snorkeling in the summer and surfing in the winter. There is also a path that you can walk extending from the park all the way to Mauna Lani resort area, with many beautiful spots for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling along the way. The Puako General Store is a few minutes away and sells basic groceries and take out foods. The house is a 40 minute drive from the airport. Renting a car is highly recommended.



Nearby Attractions:

There are numerous beautiful beaches nearby including Hapuna Beach, Mauna Kea Beach and Kiholo Bay. There are many activities you can partake in such as surfing, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and more. The Hilton Waikoloa and Mauna Lani resort areas are both close by as well and offer a variety of restaurants and shopping areas.

The home is an absolutely perfect location for a stay on the Kona coast of the Big Island, we couldn't believe that we were directly across the street from the best beach access of Puako! We heard and saw the waves during big swell and enjoyed amazing snorkeling during the calmer times. The number of turtles was truly astonishing, we started taking a "turtle walk" every night at sunset to check them out and just enjoy the area. The home itself was better than I had even expected, fully stocked with beach towels, folding chairs, boogie boards, snorkels/masks, and toys for our boys. The house was decorated beautifully, had a great kitchen, great outdoor shower, and very comfortable bedrooms for all. We used the BBQ most nights and sat out on the back patio area enjoying the night air."

The Neighborhood:

Puako is still the only ocean front residential community along the Gold Coast/Kohala Coast of the Big Island nestled between the Mauna Lani Resort, Fairmont Orchid and Mauna Kea/Hapuna Resorts. Hapuna Beach State Park has earned the reputation of being one of Hawaii Island's finest beaches. It is the largest White Sands Beach on The Big Island and consistently rates on Top Ten lists internationally. Hapuna Beach offers some wonderful opportunities for swimming, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, sunbathing and snorkeling and is just a mile from Puako. You can even drive the back road to Hapuna Beach and not get on the Highway. Local shore fisherman can be seen daily enjoying the great reef fishing. Puako Beach Drive has no through access which keeps it virtually still undiscovered by many.



There are six separate "beach" accesses along this stretch of beach. Although there is not a tremendous amount of sand, there are tide pools and the extensive protected reef is remarkable. During low tide, small pools dot the entire coastline and these pools are filled with small sea life that make excellent areas to explore for all ages. If you enjoy shore diving, kayaking and snorkeling you can find a spot along this stretch of shoreline to enter the water. Offshore the reef is home to a wide variety of fish and many days you will see dolphins playing right from the shore. Enjoy the Whales who return each year to mate and give birth in the tropical warm waters during the winter months.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended for getting around the area and enjoying all that Hawaii Island has on offer.
