I would like to share an honest review of the property. We traveled with our sons, one wheelchair-bound and one with significant vision loss. The hosts were upfront about the pool being out of service, which was not an issue for us. They also welcomed dogs, which was appreciated. However, we found that the home required a thorough cleaning, which did not align with the nightly rate we paid. The landscaping was not as described in the property listing; it was misleading to advertise "highly landscaped, grassy areas and lots of mature trees" when there were fallen limbs and trees in several parts of the property. It was overgrown and clearly lacked maintenance. We were looking forward to using the screened area by the pool, but it was quite dirty and the surrounding grounds were overrun with weeds. While I understand that the hosts informed us about the damaged pool pump, there was no mention of the dead trees, fallen limbs, and unkempt areas on the property. I had read previous reviews that addressed similar concerns, and the owners had claimed that these issues were resolved. Regrettably, I trusted their reassurances. On a positive note, the hosts were very responsive, which I genuinely appreciate. However, I did notice broken cabinet doors throughout the kitchen, and I found mildew and mold in all the showers, which I had to clean before my family could use them. The themed rooms were charming, and the house does accommodate a large group. Overall, I feel we were misled.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday with family. The house was very accommodating. Plenty of space for our group of 20. Despite getting rain the first two nights and the temps dipping into the 70s, we had a great time. Wish we had been able to enjoy the pool a little more but by the third day of rain the water was a bit chilly. The kitchen was well stocked as were the restrooms. I loved having the big laundry room for extra storage. Really came in handy. It was very quiet. We can see the neighbors but never heard them. The property is quite large and very scenic. The kids areas were very thoughtful. We would definitely stay again.

5 Stars-A Perfect Family Retreat at Jerob’s Place

We just got back from the most incredible stay at Jerob’s Place, and I can honestly say it was one of the best family trips we’ve ever had. This home was perfect for our big, multigenerational family. Our younger kids were completely obsessed with the Avengers room. They couldn’t get enough of the superhero pictures and were absolutely thrilled by the hidden treasure room, arcade, playground, and even a costume closet. The grandparents in our group spent hours on the back porch in the rocking chairs, taking in the peaceful view of the trees and marsh, listening to frogs, and just soaking in the quiet. They loved how easy it was to get around outside—from the house to the playground to the pool, it was all smooth and safe for both the littlest walkers and the more seasoned ones.For us parents, the house was incredibly spacious and thoughtfully set up. The oversized dining tables (inside and on the porch) made gathering for meals and games super easy. The kitchen had everything—we didn’t need to bring a single appliance, and the coffee bar with a grinder and French press was a wonderful surprise. The waffle bar setup was such a fun and appreciated touch too.The pool area really sealed the deal for us. It felt totally private and safe, and the setup with a shallow end and deeper was perfect. We loved every minute and are so thankful for the memories made here. Can’t recommend it enough—we’re already talking about when we can come back.

Family Union

The house was plenty large enough for our family group and had great communal space for gathering, meals, games. The setting was lovely- water views, playground for kids and pool. The outside spaces needed clean up- we had to clean all outside furniture before using and some of the cushions were not usable. Though we did not opt to have the pool heated we were not expecting it to be dirty and unusable at all. Perhaps the seasonal clean up has not been done? I would also suggest toilets be replaced with handicap height- these were extremely short and small. Enjoyed our stay- had great fun with our family and that is what we came for!

We had a group of 16 co workers and we all had a comfortable space without feeling like we were on top of each other. Lisa was easy to contact and quick to reply. Great Vacation

Our family absolutely loved our experience at this house! The owners have gone well out of their way to have things to do while staying. Our 13 year old niece LOVED the scavenger hunt!!!!Our 4 year old niece LOVED the toys and things for her to play/play on. And was totally into the dress-up closet!We all LOVED the amount of room we had. And we’re thankful there was a Christmas tree up for Christmas Really, the only way to improve would be maybe make sure all the light bulbs are working and make sure all the pots and pans are induction stove compatible.We've discussed coming back here in the summer!

Our group of 18 loved everything about our stay. With ages ranging from 2 to 78, it's hard to find any location that has interests for all, but this one did. There was room for each group to take part in the activity of their choice without being on top of others and their interests. The kids especially loved the stay - they were busy from the time they opened their eyes until they closed them at night. They're already asking to do it again next Christmas!! Highly recommend to groups of all sizes/ages.

Beautiful property with lots to do

This house is both gorgeous and comfortable. Kitchen is great for cooking and there are plenty of areas to relax. Pool and pool house are very nice. Everything from lights to ceiling fans and tvs are all controlled with multiple remotes, so be prepared to spend some time figuring everything out and not all of it has good instructions. Check the temps of the pool or swim spa upon arrival and adjust them so they have time to warm up.

We made the most of our time there and mostly enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub. I wish we had known beforehand that we didn't have access to the lake or that we couldn’t go fishing or kayaking. The additional cost to heat the pool was unknown. It was a bummer that the lights around the pool did not work during our stay. Also, watch out for the sprinkler that runs along the sidewalk makes it very slippery in some areas, our daughter actually slipped so be careful. The swamp access area was another area of concern which anyone can fall in and it also seemed sketchy. The house looked outdated and the lawn was not well maintained, so be careful of critters. The creepiest room was the kids hideout place behind a bookshelf, the whole group thought it was creepy and even the little door in the bathroom. We definitely didn't like the fact that most of the doors didn't have locks, including the bathrooms. We made the best of the experience, but we were all disappointed.

Wonderful getaway

The house was more than large enough for the 16 of us. The pool was wonderful and we used it everyday. The kitchen was big enough for some us to cook and others to sit and talk while we were cooking. The kids and teens loved the movie room. We played lots of games at the large dining room table.

Perfect Stay

You couldn’t find a better place for kids! From the pool to the playground and the house with a movie room, dress up closet, toy closet, craft cupboard and kids books we couldn’t ask for more. The kids were entertained our whole 4 day stay. Jim was very responsive to any need and quick to fix any issues. We made some wonderful family memories here and hope to be back!

Star Gaze at this East Texas Home

I chose this property because of the great reviews. The amenities offered for my children and grandchildren were also important in my decision. Upon rental and before we arrived prompt communication with the owner was very much appreciated. Instructions for home entry, parking, etc were very clear. This house is in a beautiful, quiet community. There was plenty of room inside this large house. The outdoor amenities made it easy to sit and look at the night sky where the stars really are big and bright! Kitchen amenities were good. The coffee/tea bar was a nice touch. Coffee beans were available to grind. Other coffee “tools” such as the French press were a plus. The grandkids loved the pancake and waffle bar with owner supplied syrup and pancake mix. (thank you!) There were many activities for the grandkids such as arcade games, movies, books, and kayaks. The massage chair was a hit with the adults. The swim spa was nice and clean. There were a few minor issues that needed attention before our stay. However, in speaking with the owner after our stay he assured me that these issues were resolved. I'm rating this five stars because of the property amenities and beautiful location. This was just what I was looking for to have a great getaway enjoyed by my family.

A great home for family gatherings

We had a multi-generational get together at this home. Kids and adults had a great time. The check in was at 4pm. We got there at 5:30 and cleaning crew was still on premises which was a bit disconcerting seeing multiple cars parked in the driveway, but they were finished and very helpful. Communication with owner was easy and responsive. We had a great stay and highly recommend this house if you want a great place to just hang out together and relax.

Pool is extra large with many areas to sit within pool which again is for all ages and swim level. Pool was built with safety in mind since it was utilized by a non swimming handicap child who required shallow safety no matter where in the pool he was.

Grounds are covered by trees throughout and incredible secluded from the world around including neighborhood.

We need a minimum 30-hour notice and payment must be received 30 hours before your stay begins via the platform you booked through. Due to the current market price of propane, the pool heating fee will be based on number of nights booked and charged as follows ($375 for first 2 nights, $75 for each additional night, with a max $600):

2-night stay: $375 total
3-night stay: $450 total
4-night stay: $525 total
5+ night stay: $600 total
