Dear Tiara, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We kindly ask you to remember to mention that Aruba experienced a blackout on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. It's essential to understand that property management does not own the electricity company of Aruba; this responsibility lies with the government. We promptly informed you of this situation and provided evidence to support our claims. Despite any frustration expressed during our phone conversation, our host calmly listened to your concerns and provided information over the phone, as well as through text on VRBO. Even if we had availability, it wouldn't have made sense to relocate you to another property that also lacked electricity. This was explained to you during our conversation. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for a situation that was beyond our control. If our building had internal issues causing inconvenience to our guests, that would be a different matter. Due to high demand, our property, Summer Sky, has been consistently fully booked since December, leaving us with no available studios to offer as compensation for the inconvenience caused by the blackout. It's not uncommon for electricity outages to occur in Aruba, typically happening at least five times a year, including blackouts. When visiting Aruba or any other destination, it's important to be mentally and physically prepared for such occurrences as they are a part of life on our beautiful island. We appreciate your recognition of our goals as a small local property management business managing over 53 listings since 2021. We acknowledge that there is room for improvement, particularly in implementing generators at all our properties.
