This charming seaside condo is directly on the pristine white sands and serene blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico in exclusive Longboat Key, Florida! Located on the second floor, overlooking the heated pool and ocean, this dreamy one-bedroom condo is optimal for sunset viewing from a private, screened lanai. Take a 30-second walk to the pool and onward to the secluded beach with loungers and sun umbrellas. Enjoy a relaxing vacation at our peaceful condo at Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort!
Upon arrival to Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort, you will be wowed by the tropical property! Conveniently located in the middle of Longboat Key, and just off the main road, Gulf of Mexico Drive, this small, intimate resort, only 35 units, has so much to offer: direct, private beach access, heated pool, loungers and sun umbrellas, on-site coin-operated laundry, mini golf course, shuffleboard, and complex office with staff.
When you arrive, pick up a parking pass from the main office (onsite staff 9A.M. - 5P.M. daily for any questions). There are also two in the condo, just in case! Then make your way to our condo, Unit 256, located on the second floor for optimal sunset viewing! The condo has a smart lock for easy entry and exit. Each guest is assigned a secure, individualized 4-digit code (deleted upon departure!), allowing for 24/7 arrival and freedom from carrying a key when on the beach...!
Upon entering, our condo features a spacious bedroom with king-size bed and Smart TV with cable too for viewing while lounging. There is a large closet and chest of drawers for storing belongings for a long stay, especially if you are a snowbird escaping those bitter winter months up North...!
Walk further, and you reach the living room with ample seating and queen-size sleeper sofa, which is just perfect for extra members of your party - the little ones! There is a Smart TV with cable for entertainment, when you're not on the beach, plus a variety of reading material, board games, and children's toys. Wifi, of course, is available throughout!
There is full heating and air conditioning within the condo, plus a ceiling fan in the living room and extra floor fan in the closet!
For convenience, we have a Pack 'N Play, highchair, and infant tub available for families traveling with infants!
The living room flows into the fully stocked kitchen (coffee makers - drip and Keurig, blender, wafflemaker, Tupperware, wine glasses, etc.), with dishwasher, including everything you might need for a quick weekend trip or a month-long stay.
The bathroom features a combined tub and shower, which always comes in handy when traveling with children!
Beyond the main living space is a large, screened lanai with patio furniture, ideal for eating a meal or sipping a cocktail! We have a deck box filled with fun beach toys for the kids too!
On property, there is a large heated pool with deck, featuring lounge chairs. Pick up a beach umbrella and walk to the West (no need to cross a busy street!) to reach the private beach with more lounge chairs. No need to bring your own!
The best part of our condo is the pool/ocean view, ample space, and all of the amenities that Silver Sands has to offer, most importantly, easy and quick beach access!

Hello!
My name is Heidi, and I live in Oklahoma City with my husband, Jeff, eight-year-old daughter, Louisa, three-year-old son, Teddy, two beloved dogs, Milton and Kramer, and two playful kitties, Maple and Willow!
Originally from Upstate New York (the Fingerlakes region!), I grew up vacationing on Longboat Key as my parents owned a condo at the nearby Diplomat Beach Resort. It's a peaceful island full of beautiful memories for me. When the opportunity presented itself to purchase on LBK, my husband and I jumped at the chance, and bought our sweet little studio at The Beach in October 2020, followed by our beautiful one-bedroom in February 2021 at Silver Sands, and last (for now), our second Beach studio in September 2024. It's been a marvelous experience owning on the island and hosting so many amazing guests!
To learn a little more about me, other than managing our condos and raising two children, I teach and take yoga (vinyasa flow!) classes, foster the most wonderful dogs and cats (100+!) through our local Oklahoma Humane Society, read for monthly book club, and spend way too much money gardening!
For us, vacation is important. It's a beautiful gateway for reconnecting with spouses, bonding with children, celebrating special events, and reinvigorating oneself. We take vacation seriously and want it done right from booking onward...! A positive guest experience is paramount, and we approach each guest party as if it's our very first one - ready to impress!

Our condo, Unit 256, is located within Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort on beautiful, quiet Longboat Key, which is a barrier island just outside Sarasota, Florida. The condo is situated toward the northern end of Longboat Key (LBK) with easy access to many other fun local tourist spots, like Coquina Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria Island to the North and Lido Key and Siesta Key to the South.
Just a note, oftentimes guests combine a trip to Disney World, 2-hr drive, 111 miles!
Another popular destination is Busch Gardens in Tampa, 1.15-hr drive, 65.3 miles.

Longboat Key, Florida, is easily reachable by flying into Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, which is an easy 24-minute (15 mile drive) to the condo.
You can also fly into Tampa International Airport, which often offers cheaper flight options, and is just a 1 hr, 20-minute (59 mile) drive away.
For ease and convenience, we do recommend renting a car while on the island. Along Gulf of Mexico Drive, where the condo is located, there is an extensive, paved multiuse walkway (10 miles!) ideal for walking and biking for pleasure, exercise, and purpose. Although you can use this walkway to get you to a few nearby restaurants (Harry's Continental Kitchens, .4 miles; Lazy Lobster, .7 miles; Blue Dolphin Cafe, .8 miles), they are spread out with no main cluster. Likewise, with a car, restaurants and attractions are just a quick 5 - 10 minute drive for most!
If you decide not to rent a car, consider calling one of the following to schedule airport transportation or specific restaurant/activity rides: Longboat Key Transportation, Elite Sedan Services, or Bewitched a Curated Concierge Service. Uber (download the app) is available too, but remember their availability is contingent on time of year, day of week, time, etc.
