This charming seaside condo is directly on the pristine white sands and serene blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico in exclusive Longboat Key, Florida! Located on the second floor, overlooking the heated pool and ocean, this dreamy one-bedroom condo is optimal for sunset viewing from a private, screened lanai. Take a 30-second walk to the pool and onward to the secluded beach with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. Enjoy a relaxing vacation at our peaceful condo at Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort!

Upon arrival to Silver Sands Gulf Beach resort, you will be wowed by the tropical property! Conveniently located in the middle of Longboat Key, and just off the main road, Gulf of Mexico Drive, this small, intimate resort, only 35 units, has so much to offer: direct, private beach access, heated pool (WiFi connection poolside!), mini golf course, shuffleboard, two BBQ grills, complimentary beach lounge chairs and umbrellas, onsite laundry, and complex office with staff.

When you arrive, pick up a parking pass from the main office (onsite staff 9A.M. - 5P.M. daily for any questions). There are also two in the condo, just in case! Then make your way to our condo, Unit 256, located on the second floor for optimal sunset viewing! The condo has a smart lock for easy entry and exit. Each guest is assigned a secure, individualized 4-digit code (deleted upon departure!), allowing for 24/7 arrival and freedom from carrying a key when on the beach...!

Upon entering, our condo features a spacious bedroom with king-size bed (new mattress as of April 2022!) and television for viewing while lounging. There is a large closet and chest of drawers for storing belongings for a long stay, especially if you are a snowbird escaping those bitter winter months up North...!

Walk further and you reach the living room with ample seating and queen-size sleeper sofa (new as of August 2022!), which is just perfect for extra members of your party - the little ones! There is cable Television and DVD player for entertainment, when you're not on the beach, plus a variety of reading material and board games. Wifi, of course, is available throughout.

There is full heating and air conditioning (brand new unit as of April 2022!) throughout the condo, plus a ceiling fan in the living room and an extra floor fan, if needed. There is a smoke detector too.

For convenience, we have both a Pack 'N Play and highchair available for families traveling with infants!

The living room flows into the fully stocked (coffee maker, blender, Tupperware, wine glasses, etc.) kitchen, with dishwasher, including everything you might need for a quick weekend trip or a month-long stay.

The bathroom features a combined tub and shower, which always comes in handy when traveling with children!

Beyond the main living space is a large, screened lanai with patio furniture, ideal for eating a meal or sipping a cocktail!

On property, there is a large, heated pool with deck, featuring complimentary lounge chairs. Pick up a beach umbrella and walk through the sea grapes (no need to cross a busy street!) to reach the private beach with more lounge chairs. No need to bring your own!

There are two propane grilling stations poolside with BBQ utensils in our unit.

At the complex, there are two washing machines and two dryers. Each load costs $2, and quarters are available from the main office. Detergent can be purchased there too or at nearby local Publix. There is a main dumpster, along with recycling bins, on property too for trash disposal.

The best part of our condo is the ample space, ocean view, and all of the amenities that Silver Sands has to offer, most importantly, easy and quick beach access!

Notes:

1. Upon arrival, the condo will be prepared with fresh bed linens, bathroom towels, and beach towels. There will also be starter supplies of toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hand soap, paper towels, sponge, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and laundry detergent. Daily housekeeping service is not available unless you would like to request a mid-stay clean for an extra fee, which I can arrange for you...! Sometimes that can come in really handy!

2. For our condo, there is one parking spot available - park wherever you like within the lot! Due to the size of the parking lot, unfortunately, no guest cars or trailers can be accommodated. Upon arrival, please ask the main office for a parking pass to be displayed on your dashboard. If you arrive after the office is closed for the evening, please stop by in the morning instead.

3. Please note our condo is best suited for one-two adults or one-two adults plus one-two children in the sleeper sofa, and/or one in the Pack 'N Play, if needed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept reservations for over two adults. If it is a unique situation, feel free to message me to discuss further. Thank you for your understanding!

4. The condo is located on the second floor... for a pool/ocean view! At the complex, there are stairs, but no elevator.

5. Our guest cancellation policy is "Moderate" so we will not refund reservations due to inclement weather, hurricanes, red tide, snowstorms, etc., in our area of the country or yours. Of course, we will certainly work with you to reschedule for a better time period, if needed! If this is a concern, please consider purchasing trip insurance prior to your vacation. Thank you!

It started with a great host, Heidi, communicating all we needed to know about the condo and providing a super list of recommended restaurants, shopping, and sights. The condo was perfect, well-equipped for making meals and relaxing by the pool or on the beach. Sunsets each evening were the best. It was the getaway we needed!

The apartment is a beautiful getaway! The beach is quaint and footsteps from the apartment. Also, Heidi made the check in process incredibly easy and her communication is amazing. A perfect stay is an understatement.

Refreshing & Relaxing!
We totally enjoyed our stay, including the easy access to a pristine beach with few people, the refreshing pool at a perfect temp, the poolside grills, the screened in porch for dining and enjoying the pool & ocean view, and the indoor space with a comfortable bed and a furnished kitchen making cooking at home easy. The grocery store is just a short drive away. The hosts provided some extra treats for a bonus welcome. So lovely. We would love to stay here again, but for a longer time!

Hello!

My name is Heidi, and I live in Oklahoma City with my husband, Jeff, five-year-old daughter, Louisa, one-year-old son, Teddy, and two beloved dogs, Milton and Marvin (the M&Ms!).

Originally from Upstate New York (the Fingerlakes region!), I grew up vacationing on Longboat Key as my parents owned a condo at the nearby Diplomat Beach Resort. It's a peaceful island full of beautiful memories for me. When the opportunity presented itself to purchase on LBK, my husband and I jumped at the chance, and bought our sweet little studio at The Beach in October 2020, followed by our beautiful one-bedroom in February 2021 at Silver Sands. It's been a marvelous experience owning on the island and hosting so many amazing guests!

To learn a little more about me, other than managing our condos and raising two children, I teach and take yoga (vinyasa flow!) classes, foster the most wonderful dogs (just hit #85!) through our local Oklahoma Humane Society, read for monthly book club, spend way too much money gardening, and attempt to sew -- napkins and pillowcases, anything square...!

For us, vacation is important. It's a beautiful gateway for reconnecting with spouses, bonding with children, celebrating special events, and reinvigorating oneself. We take vacation seriously and want it done right from booking onward...! A positive guest experience is paramount, and we approach each guest party as if it's our very first one - ready to impress!

Our condo, Unit 256, is located within Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort on beautiful, quiet Longboat Key, which is a barrier island just outside Sarasota, Florida. The condo is situated toward the northern end of Longboat Key (LBK) with easy access to many other fun local tourist spots, like Coquina Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria Island to the North and Lido Key and Siesta Key to the South.

Just a note, oftentimes guests combine a trip to Disney World, 2-hr drive, 111 miles!
Another popular destination is Busch Gardens in Tampa, 1.15-hr drive, 65.3 miles.

Longboat Key, Florida, is easily reachable by flying into Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, which is an easy 24-minute (15 mile drive) to the condo.

You can also fly into Tampa International Airport, which often offers cheaper flight options, and is just a 1 hr, 20-minute (59 mile) drive away.

For ease and convenience, we do recommend renting a car while on the island. Along Gulf of Mexico Drive, where the condo is located, there is an extensive, paved multiuse walkway (10 miles!) ideal for walking and biking for pleasure, exercise, and purpose. Although you can use this walkway to get you to a few nearby restaurants (Harry's Continental Kitchens, .4 miles; Lazy Lobster, .7 miles; Blue Dolphin Cafe, .8 miles), they are spread out with no main cluster. Likewise, with a car, restaurants and attractions are just a quick 5 - 10 minute drive for most!

If you decide not to rent a car, consider calling one of the following to schedule airport transportation or specific restaurant/activity rides: Longboat Key Transportation, Elite Sedan Services, or Bewitched a Curated Concierge Service. Uber (download the app) is available too, but remember their availability is contingent on time of year, day of week, time, etc.

Due to the petite size of the Silver Sands parking lot, if you are driving to the condo, one parking space is allowed per unit. There is no room for additional cars (second family member car, guest car), jet-skis, trailers, etc. Each car requires a parking pass from the main office.
